I got a bagel and cream cheese and the cream cheese was cross contaminated with what i think to be salmon (there was orange in parts of it) I am a vegetarian so this made me stop eating it entirely. This place has old school bagel shop charm. Not very fancy inside and not particularly clean (really just customers leaving crap on the tables and stuff not getting cleaned up regularly which is whatever) but that really doesn't bother me. The only thing that bothers me is that over the years bruegger's bagels as a chain has gone all in on shrinkflation. I noticed the bagels got a little bit smaller and the large iced coffee is now a medium but they call it a large and the prices have gone up overall.. To be honest if it wasn't for the free coffee when you pre order on the mobile app I wouldn't keep coming here, but with the free coffee it's the best deal around and the food is actually four out of five. People complaining about attitudes don't realize what it's like to work with customers, I get it if you're having a bad day, I am too!! read more

The manager, Troy, gave the Girl Scouts a tour of the shop after hours and taught them how to make each type of bagel, explained the processes involved, and multiple ovens. The Girl Scouts loved it, putting ingredients on their own bagels to take home, drinking a chocolate milk, and going home with a handwritten Bruggers Bagels card to each Daisy saying that they made the day bright. He was such a generous person. I saw one low review on Yelp about being out of bagels. I can share that Troy mentioned supply chain problems have occurred quite frequently due to the pandemic and how he and his staff dealt with the time they had no plain bagels for 5 DAYS. he also mentioned that each morning they put out 3 dozen cinnamon sugar bagels and they are always gone in one hour. Troy also mentioned how he was reached out to high schoolers to get them their first jobs and a whole host of other things. It was so interesting to learn about what it takes to run a shop. Went in this morning at 7:30am to avoid the lines and ordered 2 dozen bagels. Opened the bag at 10am and realized she only gave me 1 and a half dozen, missing 6 bagels. I was the only one in there, it was not a difficult order. Went back at 10am and of course there were about 20 people in line so I left. Urgh. I don't know why I go there. read more

Avoid this place!! In Belmont Center shop in the last few years, it's a consistently unpleasant experience of rude, unfriendly, and/or unhappy group of 'take your order/food prep' people with only occasionally, someone slightly more pleasant/reasonable at the register - line or no line. And the reviews, one notices are very BAD here - over time. Brueggers has become a poorly managed chain - at least in metro Boston!! So unpleasant, it's enough to wreck your mood - consistently. Nothing special with food, so overall, not worth the price! In Belmont, there are angry (at best) people doing a lousy job at taking a polite, simple order. Bad vibes and ugly, zero environment atmosphere - even at 'take out!' Every few months I've gone there because of location/early open or late lunch hour and ALWAYS regret it. Not looking for anything but basic courtesy. So, I'm done once and for all here! Lousy experience first or last thing during their open hours - and they close at 2 pm. How does this place stay open in Belmont Center with what must be high rents? Ugly shop environs, and in your face, need to let you know they are indifferent, stressed out or hostile people making food, etc. And I'm generally on the side and always pleasant to workers! Not sure what everyone is talking about with opening late. I go there every day, literally everyday, at 6am and they're always open. I get my farmhouse sandwich with a random dozen every time. They bagels are always in stock and the lighting and temperature is nice. I feel comfortable and happy there. I simply don't believe the complaints they must be exaggerating. The worst location I have been to, and I have traveled all over the U.S in several states. The sandwich's are horribly made, tasteless, and not consistent with all other locations in different states we have visited. Placed a mobile order, took over 25 minutes, because they waited to make our order. When I placed the order the place was empty, they waited until they got busy and made everyone else's order before ours. Ordered 5 sandwiches along with 2X baked hash browns, I did not get my hash browns. Come to find out they didn't have any, and instead of telling me while waiting or issuing a refund someone wrote "No hash browns" on the bag. I had to go back inside and request a refund, on top of waiting 20+ minutes IN THE STORE for my order. I almost left with out my hash browns or refund, because they did not notify me of this until I asked. The "Manager" looks all of 12 years old, and all of the workers are poorly trained, and uneducated on the menu. This was our first time in Cambridge, from Hawaii. Won't come back to this location! Brueggers does a decent job of putting bagels out. So I'll give them an A-OK score - which is what three star is. Side note: I do think they would benefit tremendously from having a regional social media manager. We do get occasional coupons in the mail but I do think if they had more check-in offers on yelp and other social media sites and offer coupons through Instagram and etc. they may get some serious traction out of that. Ive been going to this Bruegger's once or twice a week to pick up bulk bagels. 90% of the time they don't have ANY of their best selling flavor bagels. How do you fail to make enough bagels when you know you're going to be busy at 9am on a Sunday. This has got to be the most rundown, dirty looking Bruegger's I have ever been in. The floor is noticeably dirty, the cabinets are water-damaged, there is no glass between the customers and a large part of the counter which has the majority of the "add-on" ingredients for the bagels. BEWARE! Absolutely horrible service today. I get everything is a little crazy right now due to COVID 19 but at least have the appropriate number of staff members. That's not even what I am upset with though. Once I placed my order the sandwich maker cut my bagel then just left it there for five minutes as he continued to serve other costumers rather then just finishing my bagel right there. When the guy finally returned to my bagel I asked if he could give me a new one because that one had been sitting on the counter for 5-7 minutes. As he changed the bagel out he proceeded to belittle me and said " wow I've been working here for a long time never knew that. Guess you learn something new everyday." In the most condescending way possible. He got mad because I asked for a new bagel. He then said I should apply for a job...this guy was really something. I've always liked the bagels from Bruegger's. Good texture and flavor and they're often still hot from the oven. Some of the staff here is super friendly. They make sure I get all the freezer bags I need and sometimes even throw in an extra or two near closing time. read more

i used to like this location but it has gone completely downhill. it is incredibly disorganized, leasing to people ordering food and then standing at the register waiting 5-10 minutes to pay. staff does not pay attention to orders and does not know the menu, yet they are often also just hanging around not doing anything. the bagels are also rarely fresh and half the varieties are not available. read more

Please pick up your order in 15-25. I got there 25 minutes after ordering and still had to wait an additional 20 minutes. Drove 2 minutes home and the food is cold. What gives? Get it together people. I've been coming here for years and it's never been great...but today was absolutely the worst. The store is filthy...as in nobody has cleaned it in days. The culture is clearly toxic. Your staff is rude, doesn't care, doesn't want to be there. The western sandwich I got went right in the trash. You realize you can be seen preparing the food? The components are literally falling all over your filthy counter and you just haphazardly shove them in or on top of the sandwich. You then attempted to cut it in half and it completely fell apart. No worries, you just proceeded to wrap it up like a burrito and hand it to me. And god forbid I try to place the rest of my order. Sorry for the inconvenience. And please clean the knife. Shoutout to the 2005-2010 brueggers staff that used to work at this location. Angela had this location run like the best oiled machine around. There was never a time In the past when I came in and there wasn't a line, sometimes out the doors on weekend mornings. The entire town used to come here and get bagels, and you'd always see somebody you knew. Over the last recent years, this has became a different place. Bagels are often sold out and service is unbearably slow, even with fewer customers. Bring back Angela please or other well qualified staff to return this brueggers to a neighborhood meeting place again. read more

Did not have coffee at 1:00 pm on Saturday, with no attempt to replenish it. Made mistakes with 2 (out of 2) bagels--left out or wrong ingredients. Our family has been going to this bruegger's for over 6-7 years. We are noticing that their bagels have gotten increasingly smaller over the past 2 years. The last two times we went there, we noticed they now only put cream cheese on one side of the bagel. We like capers on our bagels- the last few times, they literally counted out about 5-6 capers to put on our bagel sandwiches. They charged $0.70 for capers- this comes out to about 11-12 cents for each single caper! Similarly, when i asked for onions, they put two half pieces of a thin slice of onion, which can barely be tasted but again charging $0.70. Makes us not want to order anything other than dozen or half dozen bagels at a time- I'd recommend against getting bagel sandwiches at this bruegger's. read more

The service is awful. I was in there today and had the older lady. When I asked for cream cheese on the side she rolled her eyes and responded with "Jesus Christ". I also ordered a bacon egg and cheese to bring to my friend, she asked me what kind of cheese I want on it and I said it doesn't matter (my friend didn't specify) and she then said " oh it doesn't matter just cause it isn't for you" in a rude tone. I've always had a love-hate relationship with Bruegger's. Regardless of location, the bagels are always hit or miss. I'm a New Jersey native so I'm pretty much a huge snob when it comes to bagels outside of Jersey or New York. I've been spoiled. So when I do go to Bruegger's, I usually keep it to myself. This particular Bruegger's in Belmont Center, though, has treated me well. The service was quick and the people at the counter were extremely friendly. I went in with an open mind and I left happy. That's new! I ordered the smoked salmon breakfast sandwich because 1. there was a huge photo of it on the wall that looked positively delish, and 2. I was hungover. Ya know? It came with 12-hour oak-smoked salmon, cream cheese, fresh tomato, red onions, and capers on a plain bagel (didn't want to risk it this Bruegger's trip). Turns out, it's really good! By no means is it the best smoked salmon breakfast sandwich I've ever had. I grew up in a Jewish family so smoked salmon was almost always around. But for Bruegger's, I was impressed. It's a chain and I never go into chains thinking I'm getting something totally gourmet but I was pleasantly surprised this time around. So frustrating to wait for a very long time and then be treated poorly as if the long line and lack of counter help were my fault entirely. I don't get it.
