Yesterday I had a taste for a bagel sandwich for breakfast and was nearby Bruegger's! I'm so glad I gave them a try - they're selection of bagels is huge and their menu for breakfast and lunch has some great sandwich options. I ended up getting the egg, peppered bacon and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel. Very tasty and fresh. I loved that they had all the fresh ingredients visible. I also tried the twice baked hash brown. It was really cheesy and a good addition to my breakfast sandwich. Customer Service was great - I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door and given some time to look through the menu without being rushed. I will be returning when I'm in the mood for bagels again! read more

My first time coming during lunch time, and there was only one person ahead of me, but after not two minutes later, a line started forming. Personally, I feel like this place is a straight forward spot to get a quick bagel sandwich, no frills or thrills. I decided to go with a classic Salmon Lox on a jalapeno bagel. Price was fair, doesn't break the bank. And there was a good amount of ingredients to bagel ratio. And they cut it in half for you. It was good, nothing amazing. Haven't been here in a very long time, like at least 10 years ago and wasn't impressed with the bagels. The bagels were not even toasty as what I expected and it was pretty thin. The line was pretty long but I just don't see the hype around this place. I wouldn't recommend coming here. read more

There's has been a very clear decline and change in product being used. The bagels seem to get demolished while being toasted. They're flat and burnt all the time. The bagels are no longer fluffy inside and look like a car ran over them. If you order online, the bagels are just thrown in a brown half bag, not even wrapped. It's like no one cares anymore and it makes me sad because I've been coming here since I was a little kid. Please owners and management, fix whatever product issues you have and bring back the good quality you had before. We walked in this morning about 7:15am the store wasn't busy they had 4 ladies in the back working in some orders we stood there waiting for someone to help us or at least acknowledge us But nothing, not even a good morning we'll help you in a minute, nothing we just walked away. This establishment fits in the subway category, it just gets the job done. I ordered the hot pastrami sandwich, which wasn't bad but the bagel it came in was as hard as a rock! My sister ordered an everything bagel with avocado on it and it was a disaster. They served the avacado in slices and not mashed (she did it herself) - with absolutely no taste to top it off! read more

Nope. I was short on time and wasn't able to stop by my normal bagel shop. I was in the same shopping center as Bruegger's and thought, "let's give it a shot." My bad! The employees were less than friendly, the bagel was half burnt, small, and expensive, and the biggest issue- the counter and soda machine were absolutely disgusting! Honestly, I don't think they've cleaned anything in quite awhile. We're still in the middle of a deadly viruses being very prevalent in the area- what's the harm in cleaning once in awhile? If you decide to visit (and you've been warned), check out the soda machine and surrounding countertop and see if you still want to eat there. I'm not talking like a customer maybe spilt something an hour ago and it got a little messy. I'm talking about sticky caked on dirt dust and food that has not been wiped down for months at least. My first visit is my last visit. read more

I've never cared for bagels until I had Brueggers. We've been coming here since 2019 when we lived in Placentia and even after moving further away, we still make our way down here for the bagels. Their country pepper cream cheese is so good! I love their Farmhouse. I can probably eat it everyday lol. The inside is kept well, pretty clean, and the workers are always friendly. My husband goes to pick up the bagels for us sometimes and 2 of the ladies always knows his order and to put one of the eggs in the other bagel since I don't really care for eggs. I love when they make it because they put just enough of the cream cheese. Today I got it again and it was a new worker that made it. She didn't put as much, so I didn't get the flavor with every bite like I do when the other girls make it, but it was still pretty good. read more

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst bagels ever and I'm shocked that someone can mess up such a simple order. Location: Located of Brea Blvd and the Brea shopping center long the north section of the street you will find Bruegger's Bagel in this huge shopping center with plenty of free parking. Atmosphere/Ambiance: This restaurant is looks like an old NYC bagel place and sets you back a few generations. Food: I ordered the plain bagel lachs cream cheese with capers and red onions and the whole thing was just a mess. My bagel was barely toasted and just tasted awful being under cooked. Come on guys you specialize in one thing and one thing only and by now you should know how to properly toast a bagel. The lachs and capers tasted fine, but the bagel sucked, imho. Verdict: 2 stars for a ruined breakfast experience which wasn't cheap. I won't be back! Enjoy and Bon Appétit. read more

My husband and I decided to try Bruegger's bagels and we both really like it. We both got breakfast bagel sandwiches. Their bagels are really yummy! Glad we signed up for their rewards as we were also both able to get a free bagel and cream cheese which we took home and enjoyed later. They were very busy. The service was so so. That's why the 4 stars. They could have been a little more friendly since this was our first time and we were trying to get familiar with the menu. Inside seating is good to enjoy your meal. Founded in 1983, our mission has never changed: provide neighborhoods across America with authentic New York style kettle-boiled bagels, freshly baked, every day. With over 190 locations across the country, from Massachusetts to California, we continue to do just that. Our traditional bagel-making ritual means we begin by proofing our bagels for up to 48 hours, which gives our bagels their signature soft & chewy texture. You then get the entree plus a 4 oz glass of house wine, salad or a soup, garlic bread, and a scoop of ice cream at the end of the meal. I can never finish my entree by the time I've eaten everything else. Complete dinner aside, everything here is priced reasonably. I've gone to dinner with a group of 4 before and our bill is less than $100. Literally everything I've ordered here has been delicious but my favorite is the baked gnocchi. (A baked ziti type dish with gnocchi instead of ziti).

Food never disappoints here but man.. The service here was absolutely unacceptable. The staff refused to communicate and stood around in silence, making it feel like customers were an inconvenience. I was left waiting awkwardly with no direction, no acknowledgment, and no explanation--just completely ignored. When they finally did speak, their tone was hostile and aggressive, as if I had done something wrong by simply being there. The entire environment felt tense and unwelcoming. It was obvious the employees dislike their jobs and have no interest in customer service. Every interaction felt irritated, lazy, and careless, with no effort made beyond the bare minimum. I was simply waiting to place my order--nothing more--yet the behavior was unnecessarily rude. To make matters worse, the man at the register repeatedly referred to me as "chica" and "lady," which felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. By that point, I just wanted to leave as quickly as possible. This experience was more than enough to ensure I will never return. read more

I still left an 18% tip, but based on this experience, I don't see myself returning. I used to dine at the Yorba Linda location often, so I know what this brand is capable of. The exterior of this complex has been beautifully revamped, but unfortunately, the interior and, more importantly, the service need to be held to a much higher standard. Breakfast isn't complicated, but hospitality is about the details. Right now, I feel like some of the magic is missing. They have the name and the reputation, but maintaining that reputation especially during challenging times requires consistently high standards and genuine hospitality.
