We're from the East Coast and I went looking for a place that had bagel sandwiches...this place DID NOT disappoint!! Their bagels are good - no question. However, whenever I call to place an order they say they aren't taking orders "at this time". I asked today if they ever take phone orders (they used to) and the reply was that when they are busy they don't take call ahead orders. In the midst of COVID especially, though anytime really, that makes zero sense as a customer. Why would I need a call ahead order option if there is no line? If you have babies or toddlers the idea in line for 20+ minutes for a bagel isn't really feasible and during COVID is not conducive to social distancing. In these times, most businesses have offered some sort of online ordering or call ahead options... some even offer curbside. But selectively not taking phone orders is poor customer service in my opinion. read more

I love this place more because my dad loves coming here. Everybody knows his order when he walks in and he finally broke down and bought the bottomless coffee mug. He loves it, by the way, and keeps a running total of how much money he would have spent on coffee every week. I've never had a bad bagel here and I particularly love the veggie schmear. This was my first time at Bruegger's. I was very impressed. You can tell it's a chain, but felt very welcomed by staff when I came in. It was busy at lunch time, but the person doing the sandwiches acknowledged me and said they would be right with me, nice touch. Once i ordered (herby turkey) I was asked if the order was for here, and said yes, and they asked if I liked pickles, i said yes. I paid and the guy who made my sandwich brought it over to me with a big smile and said enjoy. He brought me some extra pickles, nice touch. Loved the 70's style music that was playing and everyone was very nice. yes they had a tip jar at the counter, didn't think about it till I was leaving and went over and left a tip cause i felt really happy about my experience. Food: Egg bagel toasted (Herby Turkey) 4 stars - it was very good, you have to blow my mind for 5 stars Ambiance: 5 Stars - clean, different types of seating, tables, booths and even soft sitting chairs like Starbucks! I went here not too long ago with my mother. She was getting her hair done next door and we had time to spare for her appointment. The customer service was absolutely terrible and the employees were very awkward and strange.. I had told them that we are first timers and never been there before and I was asking general questions such as "what is in this?" And asking very kindly to remove certain things from my bagel sandwich.. they said they couldn't remove the spread because that's how it is which I understood if they really couldn't but didn't explain why, but either way I was very nice about it still and took the order. I went to pay and the employees were just standing around for five minutes while I was waiting at the register? I understood that one was cleaning up after my sandwich, but the rest just stood and talked and sort of stared at my mother and I doing nothing? I then paid for everything and I told them I ordered a coffee for my mom which they didn't even start making yet and they just looked at me and left to go make it without saying a word? The way they were looking at my mom and I were as if we were genuinely dumb people. I thought it was very unfair because we are very nice and we never been there before which we mentioned? We did not say anything besides asking about the menu which they seemed as if they had no clue either????? My mother and I are not the confrontational type or the rude type to say anything or make it a big thing but it was very rude and unprofessional. They all acted as if it was the entire stores first day on the job with their first job and don't know how to interact with customers.. or let alone anybody for that matter. Bruegger's Bagels has some nice bagels, decent soup - I said "decent" - and a crowded, understaffed, morning wait for their food. I'm a pretty patient person. However, after seeing 4 staff members, 1 on break, and 23 people in line I was a skeptical consumer. I don't mind a wait, if the food is good and the service is great. Well, I waited...36 minutes...before my time to order. Yay! My time to order! The order taker stared at me, I looked back at her...and I was a bit confused. No conversation was transacted until I said, Are you taking my order? Yes, she responded. So, I gave my order and then...nothing. Me: Uh, Do I pay you, do I wait to pay, will the bagel be brought to me...I asked in my internal process? Then a cashier at the other end of the counter said, "Hey, you pay here". Okay, fine, I get it, y'all busy. I walked down, paid for my OJ, a regular drink, and a premium bagel sandwich with some chips and a small soup for about...drum roll...... $19. I reminded my self that I was not a 5 Star restaurant, rather, a morning bagel shop. Anyhow, I paid and tried the food. The tomato soup was warm and not hot. It was eh, decent. The OJ I fear, is Costco bought and poured, not fresh squeezed, and charged a high premium. The chips were pre-packaged and had about 12 full size chips in them. There was quite a dirty floor with napkins, food crumblings, small pieces of bagels and...well not a generally clean environment. The actual jalapeño bagel was ok. It was not toasted, as requested, but I made due. The cheese was a Costco slice - Im guessing- and the "smoked bacon" was not as tasty as the pics. Hopefully, management will get more folks to help cook the soup appropriately, lower the OJ price - unless freshly pressed- and clean the place a bit. I'd love to become a regular but with the under staffing, low food standards, and high wait time...I'll wait to come again. read more

The day before I went on line and read, call it in or walk in . *Not a catering order but to get away from this order they will tell you this is a catering order. We arrived around 12 pm and they were sold out of many varieties of bagels, which is understandable since they close at 3. That being said, my wife had to choose a bagel she didn't really want. She went for the build your own turkey sandwich and the lady helping us seemed preoccupied and appeared to be doing other things while making our order so she forgot to add some of my wife's toppings. The lady assembled her sandwich before letting the bagel toast so somehow she ended up with one small piece of turkey, and for $7.99 that is unacceptable. We also got the twice baked hash brown and it was almost too greasy to eat. It was mushy and tasteless. This being said, my siracha honey sunrise was fine. read more

This bagel shop is the only decent bagel place around. They are the closest thing to NY-style bagels in the area. The only negative is there is always a long line (it's a popular place) and the seating isn't the best. Also, they run out of "Everything" bagels a lot. We have been going to Bruegger's since they opened. We get bagels at least once a month and typically use the Wednesday bakers dozen special. We absolutely love their bagels and no other bagels even compare to the consistency of theirs. Always excellent customer service. Pretty sure they know who we are when we call in our order based on the dozen cinnamon sugar we always get. Hope they are always around. read more

Check the reviews before you go. The workers don't want to be there. They are a cluster f of confusion ... you will notice employees walking around doing nothing or avoid doing sandwiches by pretending to-empty trash or clear off a table. But the best reason not to go is the cocky idiot cashier/ manager who is real quick to snap back at you and cancel the order. What a Heffer she belongs at Taco Bell I refuse to spend any more money at this place because of her and her attitude. Not worth it at all I wonder if the owner sees all the confusion and comments. The very worst customer service. I drive 20 minutes for Bueller's bagels. Today, at 12:50 I am the only one in line, waiting for the server to finish up making a sandwich for someone else. Just as I was ready to be served on, the cashier comes running and says she needs 3 everything bagels. I told her I was ready to order 4 everything bagels plus 9 more other bagels for a bakers dozen. This cashier told me too bad, that her phone order was more important than my order. I stormed out. The last time I went to Bueller's, they sold me burnt bagels for full price. Great amazing bagels. Service sucks, a bunch of kids work here and they don't know anything about customer service. That's why this place has bad reviews but the product is great. I would spend more $$ here if they had better trained staff. And don't ever pre order here at all. You'll have to wait in line. Defeats the entire purpose. I drove across town--gave attitude. The manager was a complete psycho. I can tell the workers here are trained by higher ups--perhaps it starts w the owners. I love grabbing breakfast here during the week! Driving down to San Diego for work, it's so convenient that they open at 530am! I also think all I ever say is "Hi!", "Yes please.", and "Thanks, have a good one!" because ALL the staff know what I get, which is pretty awesome. I'm generally in, out and on my way in less than 10min. They can get pretty slammed, being one of the only bagel joints in the entire Temecula/Murrieta area, but they always offer fast, friendly, courteous service. read more

Just lost a long time customer for good today over 2 bad bagels. I was told that I made the mistake of not immediately picking up the phone calling to complain. Apparently saving your receipt and returning 20 minutes across town is not enough to get a refund/credit or replacement for 2 bagels.
