Came here for the first time on a nice weekend trip. I decided to try the specialty chai latte and did not regret it! The chicken and waffles came with a nice hot honey drizzle that added a nice kick to it. The southwestern eggs benedict also did not disappoint. CORNED BEEF HASH - I won't get this next time. A steaming pile of mush and wayyy too salty. I absolutely love this kind of hash when there's a nice crunchy crisp from a flat top grill. (Go to Keiser's Kitchen in Lowell!) HOT MATCHA LATTE with oat milk has a strong bitter matcha flavor that I love. Had to stir it a few times as it would separate while sitting. It was our first time visiting, and the vibe inside is super cute and modern. Our server, Alyssa, was super friendly and spot-on with her recommendations. We tried the Brunch Burger Sliders, Southern Scram with a side of pancakes, a chai martini and a spiked nitro. Everything was phenomenal, the pancakes were SO fluffy, and for the quality of food it was priced pretty fairly! If you go when it's bustling on the weekend I recommend joining the waitlist online. So here we go. A whole 24 hours later what do I think? The decor was really cute and not nearly as cramped as it could've been if they had decided to squeeze a few more people in. Seats were comfy, lots of noise but all just conversation, surprisingly not overstimulating for someone who hates loud places. Our waitress was amazing, service with a smile and energy, directing my constant compliments to the cooks. Let's get to the food. I ordered the Breakfast Poutine (sub. bacon for the garlic mushrooms because I dislike the texture), and an Iced Chai Latte. Not only was the food visually appealing with lots of TLC clearly shown on the plate, but I can confidently say this was one of the best things I've eaten in my life and is now in my top 10. The atmosphere is bright and modern with big windows and tons of natural light perfect for a cute daytime date. We ordered the Chicken & Waffles and the Belgian Waffles, and both were so good. The chicken was crispy and well-seasoned, and the waffles were soft on the inside with that perfect golden crisp on the outside. The Belgian waffle topped with strawberries, bananas, and chocolate drizzle was fresh, flavorful, and not overly sweet. We just had a superb experience at Brunch House during our recent trip to Grand Rapids. It's been a while since I visited GR, and I always make it a priority to stop by somewhere new when we visit. I love breakfast so finding a new breakfast joint is top priority. I look for places that serve dishes I wouldn't typically make at home, and the Brunch House did not disappoint! I tried this weeks special, which was absolutely amazing. The Pork belly, bao bun benedict with gochujang hollandise sauce was out of this world! It was such a wonderful meal that I could definitely use a nap afterward. The spicy Bloody Mary's were also spot on and even came with a chaser--something that's typically missed once you leave Wisconsin! The service was exceptional too! They serve great Bloody Mary's that come with superb toppings (deviled eggs, bacon, pickle), and the Cali Scram was delicious, not oily, and portion size wise was perfect! I heard so much about this place, I decided to try it out the week of my staycation, since it seems that there are long wait times on the weekends. When I showed up the place was full, even on a weekday! Still, I didn't have any problem getting a seat at the counter. I was promptly warmly greeted, and drink order taken. I love a good Bloody Mary, so I ordered one, and then I saw the honey lavender latte, and I love all things lavender, so I ordered one. I also ordered the Southwestern Benedict which comes with potatoes (I ordered American fries with onions added). I added one protein pancake, just because I was curious about it. My food came and I dug in. I'm set up nicely at the counter, double fisting my drinks, and listening to my Audible book. The latte was not too sweet which was awesome because I find that most places make them syrupy sweet. The Bloody Mary was interesting because it included a deviled egg on it, and it made me laugh. Raising a glass to the queen of brunch - may your rim always be salty and your mix spicy! The protein pancake was dense and filling. It would be a hearty, (healthier ?) alternative to a standard pancake. I didn't have syrup with mine, just butter. The Southwestern Bennie was cooked perfectly. When cut, the egg ran down, and the combination of flavors was lovely; the fatty avocado balanced the spicy jalapeños. The interior is a friendly, modern, mid-century style with an open space. Because of all the open, hard spaces, and the room full of people, the sound level was high in there. This would be my only criticism. But the food was great, the service was exceptional, the atmosphere was attractive, and I spent a lovely late morning on the week of my staycation at the Brunch House. read more

We were excited to try the newest brunch spot near us. Around 9am, we were seated instantly and our server stopped by for our drink order right away. We placed our food order within 5-10 minutes and it arrived within 15 minutes after that. Our food was pretty good and my daughter loved the fun Mickey Pancakes where should was able to pick chocolate chips as her topping. My wife loved the breakfast tacos and I thought the burrito was good. The hash-browns were what you'd expect at a diner and the portions of everything were pretty big. The dining room was clean and the staff were all friendly. The menu had plenty of options to choose from and it was great that they had a kids menu with 3 breakfast items and 2 lunch items. I've been wanting to check this place out for a while and finally did so today. We were promptly seated at a nice table. Restaurant is bright and cheery and I like the fact tables aren't jammed close together like so many other restaurants. We took a few minutes to look at the menu. Lot's of good choices. I had the banana bread pancakes and my wife had eggs. My pancakes were pretty good and the bacon was even better. My wife's eggs were lukewarm at best and the hot sauce she requested never arrived. (think of a hot dog without mustard or a burger without ketchup) Neither did the toast until she asked for it well into her meal. In as much as our server wasn't very visible (never asked how our meal was, etc.) We only saw our server when she took our order and brought out our food and finally the check. Overall service was not great. Place was not busy, maybe 1/3 full with 3 or 4 servers. Overall, food (mine was good) was OK. Not enough of a reason for another $40+ breakfast. read more

Brunch is my favorite meal so you know I was excited to learn that Brunch House was opening a second location in GR (their original location is in Muskegon). They really revamped the former Manna Cafe location in Forest Hills and made it bright, modern, and welcoming. The wait was already about 30 minutes when we arrived on a Saturday around 9:30 am - try to add your name to the Yelp wait list ahead of time! Luckily we were able to grab a spot at the bar without having to wait. The menu is large with lots of great options from savory to sweet. They also have lunch items. I decided on the veggie bennie and Nate got the kicking chicken benedict with fried chicken and biscuits. Both came with a choice of potato (either American fries or hash browns). The food didn't take too long to come out and it was plated nicely. The veggie benny was good - not the best version of this that I've ever had, but I liked the combination of veggies. The English muffins were a little soggy, maybe they could've been toasted a bit more. The American fries were just okay - they weren't cooked consistently so I had some that were underdone and they were also underseasoned (easily taken care of with the condiments provided). I had a few bites of Nate's benedict, which was really good. The fried chicken was crispy and seasoned well. He agreed that we should've gotten the hash browns instead of the American fries. Sitting at the bar we got to watch them make a bunch of drinks and we were intrigued by the mimosa flight, so we ordered one midway through our meal. The bartender asked if we had any preferences on flavors or if we wanted to be surprised. I love surprises! I don't remember all four of the flavor combinations they gave us, but they were unique and not just your basic orange/pineapple/grapefruit juice. One was even a bit spicy, which was a fun twist. I will say that our flight was very sweet and could've used more booze, but it was fun to try. Service was great for how busy they were! Overall I give Brunch House a solid 4.5 stars. This is a great addition to the area and if I lived closer, I would come back often. read more
