    Seafood risotto
    Steve C.

The best value for the money so far in Aspen. The restaurant is nice, kind of mid-scale with good waiters and good food. The seafood risotto was excellent and had a subtle smoky taste and lots of mussels, calamari and shrimp. The lasagna was very tasty and just the right serving size (and we still took some In a to go box). The margaritas were delicious and we watched the NCAA M tournament while we dined. Excellent service and a nice atmosphere. I would go back!

Place is supposed to be open but the doors are closed and locked...no one is there but they took our payment.

This place may be closed?? I feel awkward giving "stars" as I have no particular complaint with the food or location...We are visiting Aspen and were looking for dinner to eat in. We ordered food to go from the Brunelleschi's website, order was accepted, and payment shows as 'pending' through our credit card company (including tip). But, when we showed up 20 mins later to pick up the food, the doors were locked, lights out, furniture stacked on tables, and nobody there. Other customers showed up also looking to get in. The hours on their website showed they should be open. We called multiple times but it only went to voicemail. We are hoping the place is still open --- but it wasn't open tonight and we are definitely hoping that our payment is not processed as we never got any dinner. Sending good thoughts to Brunelleschi's that tonight was just a blip.

Honestly, dining here was a good experience for us. We stopped by for lunch on Saturday and this place was fairly empty. We got the Sofia, shrimp scampi, shrimp linguini and the chicken piccata.. I think the Sofia and piccata were my favs. Service was quick. The calamari was pretty good. Decent meal if you're in Aspen downtown

Service was okay, food was beyond mediocre. The pizza is basically a lavash with no crust. Gluten free pasta was mushy and so overcooked and came out within 2 minutes of ordering so it was clear it had been pre-made and sitting there disintegrating... Marinara sauce was full of sugar and I would hardly call anything here "Italian."

    Paisano Pizza with Pepperoni

I come to Aspen three or four times a year, and never miss eating my favorite pizza in the world! Try the Paisano, add pepperoni. I don't recommend you share it with anyone!

This is a thin cardboard pie for $25 that lacks toppings and sauce. The service is poor. I've never met any locals that like this place.

To get me to write any letter the experience must be pretty extreme and even more so when you consider the food was great and service (once we sat down) was also excellent. My wife and I got there at about 630 expecting to wait for bar seats for a group of 4. Our friends who play local shows and are regulars at Ellina and know the staff joined us. I checked in with the hostess and just made sure on the bar wait protocol and offered to put our name down and they said first come first serve. There was another couple in front of us and when 2 seats opened up in the corner we told them and they sat down (cause it would obviously be wrong to cut in front of them even though we were closer to the seats). We waited patiently for a good 45 minutes with our 2 friends but were not on top of the hostess station cause it was crowded with traffic (we only were like 5 feet away though even with the middle of the bar). About 10 minutes into our wait a group of 3 walked by us (2 girls and a guy celebrating a bday) to also wait at the bar. I remember them walking in cause they  accidentally bumped into me and apologized on their way to wait right by the host station for bar seats. When finally 2 seats opened up my wife and my friend's wife took the seat and when another 10 minutes went by 3 seats next to them opened up. We went to grab 2/3 seats and then the guy from the party said that's our seats. I told him it's first come first serve and they lied and said we were here first. I mention they walked into us while you were walking in and tried to tell them we were right behind the couple who were seated before us an hour ago (their party wasn't even there for that..that's how long we were waiting). Instead of letting me explain, the manager or owner came over and yells "MY BAR MY RULES" at me and said told the other party to sit down. My friends who are regulars and know the bartender and actually have met the her (Jill??) were also shocked. So we had no choice but to wait a little longer before another few seats opened up. We did end up sitting next to the same party of the 3 and the guy actually apologized to my wife multiple times cause they knew they were in the wrong. They totally lied and got away with it.  Despite the rudeness we spent $450 and appreciate Willy working hard for us but my friends and I don't see any of us going back and supporting the establishment after the way the earlier situation was handled and after an attempt to reach privately still no response. There was so many more mature and professional ways to handle the situation like asking for my explanation or having the host who first saw me vouch for me (I asked her if there was a list to put our name down for the bar trying to be proactive) or ask the other couple that was seated down right before us, or being proactive and implementing a waiting list or maybe offering us or the other party drinks or appetizers) but yelling at a customer and completely being in the wrong was so unbelievable out of pocket. It really ruined the meal for all of us despite objectively good food and drinks and like I said Willy and David were great. Please treat your future customers better than us.

The fries are pretty much what you'd expect, except once they got to room temperature they became super hard and not very edible. My husband said the French dip meat was good and tender, pretty good flavor overall. I had the chicken sandwich which was huge! They split the sandwich into three wedges and I could only finish two. I liked the texture of the chicken was nice and I liked the slaw on it, however, the flavor overall was kind of lacking. I would say it was a bit overhyped. Overall, it was a nice experience for a decent price and I'm glad we went. Would we go back? Probably.

Our experience at Meat & Cheese in Aspen was disappointing from beginning to end…read more To start with, the food was mediocre in every sense. The quality did not justify the prices, the flavors were forgettable, and nothing we ordered stood out. Unfortunately, what happened afterward was far worse. My wife accidentally left behind a shopping bag containing a brand new pair of sunglasses she had purchased earlier that day. When she returned to retrieve them, our interaction with a server named Carson was deeply disappointing. Instead of simply confirming ownership in a courteous and professional manner, Carson repeatedly questioned whether the sunglasses were actually hers. He kept emphasizing that they were brand new and worth around $600, making it clear that he found it difficult to believe they belonged to her. It was impossible not to feel that she was being judged based solely on her appearance. There is absolutely nothing wrong with verifying ownership of a valuable item. In fact, we appreciate businesses that take lost property seriously. What is unacceptable is allowing assumptions and stereotypes to influence how customers are treated. One lesson worth remembering is that genuine elegance and long established wealth rarely need to announce themselves. Those who have had the privilege of success across generations often feel no need to advertise it with designer logos or outward displays. True class is reflected in education, humility, confidence, and, above all, in the way people treat others. Ironically, Carson's assumptions said far more about his own judgment than they did about my wife. No customer should ever be made to feel that they need to "look wealthy" in order to be treated with respect. We hope management addresses this issue seriously. The mediocre food was forgettable. Being judged and treated with prejudice is not. Every guest deserves to be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and dignity, regardless of how they are dressed or what assumptions someone chooses to make about them.
