Pepperoni pizza not so happy today
    Jessica R.

Not happy with the food today a little burnt, I can't believe they still sent this home with me for my dinner. Very disappointed in Brunners today it's not always like this but here it is. Service was fast as I went through the drive through.

We only got takeout this time. The pizza was good tho. Cheesy with a crispy crust. Not too greasy or spicy. Reasonable prices. Friendly service. Overall pretty good.

Shawn's Pizza Reviews REVIEW # 15 BRUNNER'S EATERY BOSTON STATE RD. HAMBURG, NY SCORE 8.2 Open since 1978, they started as a small store front and since has grown to a full size restaurant with indoor dining as well as an outdoor patio. They pride themselves on having one of the largest menus of any pizzeria on the planet. Brunner's pizza was extremely good. They load it with sauce which is fine with me since the taste was fantastic but it does cause the toppings to fall off pretty easily. I was very surprised since today was my first time hearing about this place. It is a well kept secret in my opinion and I'd highly recommend you try 'em out!

    Buffalo chicken wing soup

One of the best chicken wing soups I enjoy Unfortunately it's a seasonal soup for the colder months in WNY

Sloppy, onion laden, dry, cheese outlined, mess.

I shouldve known when i pulled up, and felt as if I was inconveniencing the girl that was cleaning. Came off as miserable, but whatever I'm hungry. Plated up my girlfriends plain chicken finger sub, an outline of cheese, no mayo, and the rest just look beat. 3 strikes, and then to top it off, the roll was burnt. Then the kicker is, tons of onions. My mild chicken finger sub was burnt as well. Same cheese outline. Same lack of mayo. Same sloppy mess, right out of the wrapper. I drove 10 minutes each way to give $25 for these 2 messes and a baby-sized 8" garlic bread for $5? All 4 bites? I do my best to patronize local businesses but to spend my money on this, when all I've eaten was some grapes, is embarassing to me and leaves me hungry, with a lingering burnt taste, ruined my date with my girlfriend, and pissed. A little pride in the job, and for the people, really shows. Not a damn was given from start to miserable finish. Will not return. I don't prefer piss poor service, or food.

I lived in Dunkirk for several years, but the changes that they have made to the pier and boardwalk are really unbelievable !!!! Shops & restaurants and this gem!! Let me be very clear in saying that there are maybe three tables inside; this is definitely a grab and go restaurant . However there is a huge patio with many many tables even if they are full, which is doubtful, you could certainly grab a spot on the boardwalk nearby . We happened to have a beautiful night and we have an event to go to at SUNY Fredonia so a friend recommended this place . We waited about 15 minutes to place our order. After ordering we enjoyed our drinks out on the patio while we waited for our food. I opted for an alcoholic beverage while my son had a virgin piña colada. Our number was called maybe 15 minutes later and we were served absolute deliciousness. My son ordered the California, which was a delicious crispy fish sandwich while I opted for an Asian chicken wrap. Our food was absolutely delicious. Served just right. The food temperature was perfect and the portions were ample . The service was wonderful. If I ever come upon a beautiful night again in Dunkirk, I will definitely be visiting this place !!!!

Our coconut shrimp was an excellent appetizer. Only wish there were more than 6? Shrimps. Our order of clams were big and tasty. Whatever hot sauce was on the table was also very good. The fish fry was excellent, breading did not flake off, and the portion of fish for $19 was insane. It was almost too much to eat. The order of crab legs was also plentiful. Definitely get your moneys worth here. While we probably won't be back again, I have nothing bad to say about the establishment. Our service was also good.

They were good, though they keep the steamed with their shells on and with the rock shrimp's intestinal tract still on. In restaurants elsewhere, they remove the shells (which are much harder than regular shrimp) and remove the tractor (basically the poop sack). As assumed, customers peel the rock shrimp/lobster daintees and rarely use a knife to remove the instestinal tract (which results in the meat tasting very sandy/grainy/eating whatever is in their intestinesinal tract). That being said, I did find it cool to see the tough shells on the lobster daintees. I also ordered a steak, which was made perfectly. I do look forward to going back, though I would also consider their beef on weck or other non-seafood offerings.

Appetizers were very good: Crab cakes- Great balance of crab and filler... mostly crab as it should be. Asparagus cooked perfectly. Mushrooms and onions cooked well, seasoned. All apps were more than enough to share. Entrees- did not disappoint. Steaks at this steak house were VERY GOOD. Dessert- could've skipped. The chocolate cake was no big deal. Just ok. Slightly sweet, light, fluffy...but just ok. Didn't taste homemade. Tasted like an ok store bought slice of mediocre cake. I'll skip dessert next time as it really wasn't worth the calories. Pros: Ambience is modern, clean, and open. Plenty of parking. Good service....the manager switched out a flavorful, but tough steak in the Dominico with the Prime Rib without making my guest feel bad. Good was very tasty. Seafood soup was meaty and seasoned very well. Filet mignon was tender and tasty. You could actually taste the grill char on the steak. Loved it! Portion sizes of everything was generous. Was NOT disappointed there. Cons: One of our steaks was super fatty and too tough. And everything is a la carte, which means pricy. We spent $223 for three people (3 apps, 3 entrees, 3 sides, 1 dessert). Great for date night, special occasions, business dinners, happy hour.

That's not to diminish the meat and potatoes being served up three nights a week. You will literally step back in time as you ascend the single step up into the rustic bar. The ambiance is so thick you can cut it with a knife. The interior spaces are a warren of wood paneled, timbered ceilings, wallpapered rooms, carpeted floors, lantern lit and heavily decorated with early American memorabilia. The doggie decor in the tap room is interesting, especially to a dog lover like myself. We had been warned that The Dog Bar fills up fast, so reservations are strongly recommended. We arrived at 5:30 pm to a neat-capacity situation on a Friday night. We also had been warned that dinner service would take between two to three hours due to traditional cooking methods, no air fryers or microwaves anywhere! So let's talk about the much anticipated food experience. We sat for the better part of an hour with our glasses of water before our cups of soup arrived at the table. The salad course came along 20 minutes later along with a basket of muffins and some of the best buttermilk biscuits I've ever had. They were tender and moist, slightly sweet and fluffy with a nice crumble on top. The salad was not memorable. The Dog Bar must be doing something right! Every table was full, the place was slamming-busy on this evening. Many of the patrons seemed to be regulars, comfortable with the menu and the wait staff. I ordered the porterhouse steak, baked potato and green beans. My steak was done correctly, was tender enough. Nothing stood out, for example there was no fancy compound lemon-garlic cracked pepper butter, no sautéed onions. This steak had to carry the whole meal on its own. My husband held his comments until we got home. His fried seafood platter did not live up to his expectations. The thin fish cutlet was dried out during the fry process. He loves his coleslaw and potato salad, so this was a huge disappointment for him. We ordered a Peanut Butter Mud pie to split. It was delicious and it arrived at 7:30 pm. I can't say that we'd return. There are much better restaurants in the vicinity.
