I think that I've finally found my pizza and pasta home... As usual, it's nowhere near my home. But within delivery range. I can't express just how impressed I was with the food from Bruno's. The pizza had a really good sauce that made their great tasting crust even better. The pasta dish that I had tasted like it was made with love in someone's home.. I haven't had a satisfying pasta dish like this in quite a long time. I will be making my way through trying the majority of dishes made here over the next several months.. Living at the shore I have my local favorites; Tony's Baltimore Grill, Carluccio's, and Express Pizza. Number one son last year had me try a leftover slice of pizza from Bruno's and since then I had been dying to try a fresh pie from the place. Last week we drove over and ordered a Margherita Square pie and it was is new favorite It deserves way more than 5 stars. The perfectly cooked pie was perfectly crisp on all the edges, the sauce and cheeses used were top quality. The place is a little out of the way but the taste was more than worth the trip. For our Sunday outing we needed to start our food funday off right. Never had Bruno's but read how awesome the Sicilian margherita was. So who am I to not investigate such a claim. We arrived there shortly after opening, and they had a nice selection of slices available. Since they all looked great, whom am I to leave a fallen sexy slice behind without giving it a chance to dance in my gullet. Pizza needs other slices for friends, right? Loved all of them, but for sure the standout was the reason we came. Outstanding flavors, beautiful bready crust and a wonderful sauce with perfect cheese coverage. Bruno's is excellent. We have ordered it for a number of extended family get togethers. Great for adults, and great for children. It is not cheap but the portions and quality both make it well worth it and fairly priced. The pastas are very good, as are the pizzas. The soups and salads are also nice additions. read more

People, people, people! Have we all not mourned the loss of our precious former pizzeria Angelos? I am here to say that the mourning is over because I have seen the light! Brunos Pizza is by far one of the best pizzas I've had to date. I had the bianca and my boyfriend had some sort of sausage broccoli rabe pizza. Both were to die for. Everything was so fresh I could hear the cow outside mooing. The crust only got better the longer it sat. The waitress we had as well as the rest of the staff were all amazing and very accommodating. This is a family business and you can tell the servers are proud of what they are serving. As mentioned in many other reviews there is a liquor store located right next to the restaurant so if you forgot you BYO, you are in luck. I really cannot wait to go back. PS. 3.3 stars To insiders Bruno's is the talk of the town for their tomato pies. Since they aren't on the Haddon ave strip, it's obvious that if you're there it's because someone told you about it. I've been to Bruno's three times and each time I left feeling different. My first trip was after dance lessons and I was ready to try their famous tomato pie. My first thought was that Bruno's has the perfect marketing scheme: it's a byob with a liquor store attached. If men were that simple and easy I'd be a married woman. So my hot date and I order our tomato pie. I admit it was the first I ever had because the thought of nothing but tomato just did NOT sound tasty but it was! We loved it. The pie gave me insane heartburn but still, 5 gold stars. My next visit stunk and here is why: The service was horrible and the food was mediocre. It was a super busy friday and we had a 35-45 minute wait. The waiting did not bother me one bit but what did bug me was the host who let a couple he knew cut in front of us. They had no reservations and only waited 2 minutes before getting primo seating. When we did get a seat, it was next to a neon sign that was making me sweat and hurt my eyes the entire time. No seating ever opened or else I would have moved. My final and last visit to date was with reservations (yay!) and we had very nice seats. We ordered a pizza and it was not amazing but also not bad. Since my visits were wishy-washy I've taken a break from Bruno's and when I'm craving a tomato pie I'll be back. read more

Very disappointed for a first time visit. Was told the restaurant just opened 3 days ago, and they have 2 sides. Was celebrating an 80th birthday- looking forward to seafood. Oh? What? No seafood. Wow! We're new to the area and neighbors recommended Bruno's for pizza. We ordered that plus gnocchi and salad and loved it all. Evidently they just started with online ordering and it worked beautifully for us. This used to be a monthly stop but it has become a little pricey and since we are on a budget just get there when we want to impress out of town guests and last night was one of those occasions The service is always great the table set with a basket of complimentary bread and tomato pie with a dish of roasted hot Italian peppers for toppings. Delicious I can eat just this and be happy I was not very hungry so I just had a Philly cheesesteak not the best in the area but far from the worse Two in our party had spaghetti and meatballs 4 huge meatballs and a large plate of pasta easily enough for two meals Another had lasagna which again was plentiful and delicious Lastly an order of calamari which probably was three portions So u get the theme very large portions so although it is a little on the pricey side you get your money's worth Bruno is usually there greeting customers and overseeing the operations. We really love Bruno's!! Almost every time a call we get the same thing, one each of the Sicilian pies they have which are amazing. All our friends ask if we're getting the "crack pizza" when they come over, that's how good it is! The other day we took a chance and ordered something different. What amazing food and customer service. It is hard to find really, really good pizza, even though we are inundated with Italian restaurants. Bruno's Wood Fired Margarita pizza was one of the best I ever had. Even though it was late, the chef through another couple of logs in the oven, and walked us through the making of our pizza. Tonight I ordered white fra Diablo pasta with shrimp and scallops, an order of chicken tenders and fries and a cheesesteak. $50 for those three. The cheesesteak was surprisingly good and we enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the pricey pasta dish was almost inedible. The tiny scallops were overcooked. I had to throw them out. Oh, there are other things on the menu possibly just as delicious and, despite our resolve, we've only tried these once as it's the pie that calls to us in our sleep. I really like their Margherita pizza. I like that you can walk in and grab a slice and the selection is different every time. You don't have to order an entire pie to get your pizza fix. There's a more casual side where you can eat in and then a restaurant that's a little more upscale. Not too fancy but not pizza shop casual. The restaurant does a great job of offering both. Haven't had any pizza I haven't enjoyed here and the people who work here are very nice. I'm a Latina woman and I did have a weird interaction with a customer once as I was leaving but the restaurant can't control that at all. I'd just lightly suggest if you are a person of color, getting your food and going back home if you don't want the possibility of dealing with hostile customers. I heard so much about this place and we were eager to try it since it is local. We went on a Friday night around 6PM. The host or person seating asked if we mind sitting in the pizza side, we said no, whatever is easy for them. They told us to take a seat and they'll get a table ready. Immediately after another couple walked up (as walk-Ins) and got seated in the dining room right away. We were seated in the pizza side and it took at least 20 minutes for anyone to approach our table and it was just a guy who through bread down. No drinks .... Nothing. So maybe another 15 minutes later our server came over, and we ordered. Our server was friendly .... but we only saw her maybe 2 times that night. The salad was gross, it had no fresh-ness to it, just cold flavorless lettuce and topping. I ordered the chicken parm sandwich which was just okay and my boyfriend had tortellini Alfredo ... again just okay. I'm not sure what the hype is about this place, but I definitely will be okay if I never return again. There are three main parts to this establishment; a BYO restaurant where you can have a nice dinner, a take-out type section where you can also enjoy a quick slice and a liquor store. Take-out is probably my favorite option. You can call ahead to place your order, run into the liquor store to grab the perfect bottle of red or white, then pick up your dinner. Dinners come with a roll and a pretty large side salad, and the entrees are huge (without compromising on quality) and delicious. I highly recommend the pasta with clams and red sauce. The red sauce is homemade with plum tomatoes and fresh garlic. Soooooo good! read more

The ONLY reason they get any stars is for their Sicilian. We were looking for a good pizza in the area, and that definitely is a great (if expensive) pizza. However, I ate at the restaurant on Saturday night. The stars earned by the pizza are negated by the "Italian" food. Bland, frozen, and over cooked are the first 3 words that come to mind. I have never had a worse meal out, worse pasta, or a worse $18 entree. My friends fared no better-- $29 for overcooked tortellini in a cornstarch sauce with 4 (not even jumbo) shrimp? The food wasn't even worth complaining about, because I definitely didn't want a replacement meal. We won't EVER eat there again, Sicilian pizza or not. Our server was cute and nice, though. read more
