2 meat & 2 side plate with banana pudding.

Believe the hype. Bryan Furman BBQ was some of the best i've had. I've had some of the southern heavy hitters like Franklin's, Terry Blacks, Fox Bros, and Rodney Scott's...the ribs I had at Furman's could hang with them. The real unsung hero was the collard greens though. I could eat them everyday. If you're in Portland and looking for some damn good barbecue...go get in line & enjoy Bryan Furman's BBQ.

worst bbq, i cant believe i paid $43 total for this trash. meat is dry and tasteless, chicken is sticking to the bone and alright. didnt even give that much food, what you see in the pic plus 1 more slice of brisket and 1 chicken drum and two sides is all you get.... feeling scammed

Great space with plenty of seating, a simple menu, good food, and friendly service. I came here for the first time for Portland Restaurant Week and was pleasantly surprised. We tried the ribs, collards, macaroni and cheese, corn bread, and banana pudding. I would order everything again. In fact, I'm not ready to try anything else on their menu yet because I need round two of what I already had.

It's was soooo good! I wish I would have tried the beans but they sold out . But the collard greens were on point !

We went on their second Friday of being open (2/6/26). We arrived around 12:10 and the line was already around the corner. It didn't seem like we were too far back, but it took us a little over an hour to get in. The one and only Gregory Gourdet was handling the line and allowing around 6-8 people in at a time. There's only one line, so its movement depends on whether people ahead of you are staying to eat or getting food to-go. You have to go downstairs into the bar to order (I believe there's an elevator, but we didn't verify). You seat yourself if you're staying. We got our order to-go and were out within about 10 minutes of ordering. The menu changes weekly - definitely the meats, but it looks like even the sides might change too (brisket beans were an option this week, rather than baked beans). Check their Instagram for the current offerings. All of the meats, the coleslaw, the beans, and the collard greens are gluten free. We tried the pulled pork and the chicken, and all four sides. Everything was fantastic. We definitely want to try to go back to try the other meats before the pop up is over! I do wish there was a separate line for to-go orders, but it's probably because of capacity limits that there isn't.

Sign outside where you line up. Bryan was walking back from his smokers and was kind and said hello.

2 meat and 2 side serving. Serving seemed generous for the price. I'd say this was enough for me and leftovers for me. I don't share my BBQ. Food is great albeit the brisket was a little dry. The ribs and beans were the shining stars for this and the cornbread was not dry and was a little sweet. The service though...I was second person in line about 11:15 am for a noon opening. They let all the resy orders in ahead of us which may not seem like a big deal but the first guy walked out with 4 large bags of food. When I was finally let in there was still 4 of the 6 resy orders waiting. I finally had my order taken but the guy seemed off that now people wanted to order. It was 27 minutes past opening. It was another 12 before I got my food to go. It seemed there was little hustle for the price we are paying. Will I be back...TBD. The food is good but I want that line up outside open at noon to not be interrupted by online orders.

Best brisket in Portland. I loved everything I tried. Service was great. Staff is friendly. Line was long but worth it. Get there early!

We have been looking forward to eating Podnah's BBQ, most of my foodie friends love this place. As…read moreyou walk up they have a very large outdoor seating area for at least 80 people, the main entrance has Podnah's name posted within a rustic building. The building is a very casual place, as you walk in the friendly staff greet you and ask you to take a seat wherever you like. We decided to sit in the backside of the building it is a very peaceful section by the kitchen, you can smell the amazing smokey scent of the bbq from there. The walls are covered black and white cowboy pictures. As someone mention in their review, parking is a little challenging but we found parking in the neighborhood within 5 min. The Menu is simple and to the point, one page is drinks the other page is the BBQ, We shared the Pit Boss Platter, you will find that it feeds 2-3, you get a 1/4 pound of brisket and pulled pork, 2 pork ribs, 1 link (very good size) cornbread and your choice of 2 sides, we choose the collard greens and the the green chile mac and cheese. Everything was amazing. It was plenty for the two of us that shared it, we actually took some of it home, I also tied in the pickles, the are served with pickled onions and jalapeños (yummy). The BBQ flavor was amazing, nice and smoky , great smoke rings, they table drop in three different sauces, a vinegar oil, a surprisingly tasty mustard sauce and their house bbq sauce, they are all great tasting. My son ordered the 2 meat plate, he loved the Brisket and Ribs, he also tried the Pinto beans with Brisket, they were very tasty. Overall Podnah's lived up to the hype. If you are in the area its worth a try.

So the food is good, but the main issue we all took an issue with is the automatic tip. We ordered…read morecarryout, and it's a mandatory large percentage, regardless. We ended up cutting things out of our order to compensate for that. Honestly, I'm totally fine with restaurants making the food pricier to make up for costs, but adding a huge mandatory tip is a iffy. There are plenty of really good bbq places in the area that will give you comparable food without that. Neither myself or anyone in my party will be going back while this is still present, sadly.

Truly, as impressive as the menu is here, the real secret ingredient is Uncle Earl, himself. His larger-than-life personality, infectious laugh, and genuine hospitality create an experience that feels like visiting an old friend rather than a neighborhood food cart. I settled on The Arnold: a half pound of brisket with a side of mac n cheese and a corn muffin. There are a number of sides to choose from, but the mac sounded appealing to me. Indeed, it was very rich and satisfying, but the meat is why people flock to this food cart! Tender, sweet and salty, and oh, so delicious; this is the barbecue I've been missing in my life! I love supporting businesses that embrace community, and Uncle Earl's manages to do that very well. Just take a look at these reviews and you'll find it very clear folks here go out of their way to make sure customers have a positive experience and enjoy their food. What more can you ask for?

He was right on time, set everything up for us, and gave us lots of extra bbq sauce for FREE! The food was amazing! The temperature was perfect, the ribs were OUTSTANDING and the potato salad was AMAZING! Even those family members who don't normally like potato salad enjoyed this recipe. It was such a pleasure to meet Uncle Earl. We chose his bbq over others because of the many great reviews he has on Yelp. We are so glad we did and we will be ordering it again.
