Wow, terribly shocked at the rude and disrespectful attitude shown by this stores management. My boyfriend and I stopped in to check out some wall art, as soon as we stepped in we were greeted with an abrupt "we are closing" by what appeared to be the manager on duty. We stated we just wanted to peak at the art which was met with "you have one minute" - mind you it was only 5:54pm and the stores posted hours say they close at 6pm. Another member of staff kindly said to us "you have 5 minutes, go ahead", the manager retorted "No, I said they have one minute" berating the associate openly while glaring in our direction. I have never felt so I welcomed and been treated so terribly in a retail establishment. We could hear the manager speaking about us and making clearly homophobic remarks towards us as we left the store. Do not take your business here, do not share on social media. Andy was amazing! She gave me a great deal on a very old, real wood, beautifully designed dinning room table with 6 chairs. It was priced at 950 and after the 50% off sale, plus her kindness I got it for $275. It's better quality than any furniture store and much cheaper, I was about to buy a crappy fake wood table from ashley's furniture for 500 and I'm glad I went to BTS first. The table was in great condition since it looks like it's a hundred years old. I've gone back at least 5 times and bought more stuff, including paintings and decorative stuff. They are always willing to go down on the price for you, I try not to haggle too much, since it's for a good cause, they actually house and help former addicts. I would never shop at any thrift store again like the salvation army or goodwill, they usually don't help people much. This place is a gem, I never go on yelp, this is my first review and it was worth it, even if it means you may go there and buy something I've had my eyes on, but I've learned things go fast, there are so many donations every week and whenever I return, what I wanted is gone. I like this place. The prices are highish, but their stuff is nice. BTS has quality used goods and it is a higher grade thrift shop. There is a large variety of items from clothes to furniture. Staff was helpful and nice. Signs warning shoplifters not to steal didn't bother me as I'm not a thief. I understand a business that pays rent and has expenses trying to protect itself from people trying to freeload their stuff. There are many treasures here and it was a pleasure perusing the store. No. No. No. No. No. Walked in and was mmediately greeted with a foul musty stench. Overheard some middle aged male cashier being a sexist patronizing A-hole to his female coworker. Found what I was looking for, wedding dresses! However they were hanging 30 feet up in the air behind a counter so you can't really see details, silhouettes, or sizes. They also had a large rolled up carpet leaning on them... Can't imagine they are in good shape if that's how they treat them. Asked if I could see them and that same terrible man showed me one single dress, made sarcastic comments, and then stared at me with an angry face till I left. Wtf is his problem? read more

I really hope the management sees this! I went to BTS Thrift Store with my friend in look of finding some affordable clothing. Prices were crazy high! Most basic t-shirts were about $20, jackets ranging from $30-$80, on top of that the management was extremely poor!!! I was waiting in line to buy my items and a Latin family was in front of me. They didn't speak much English and were having a hard time communicating with the cashier. She was extremely rude to them and shouted "I DON'T UNDERSTAND YOU" multiple times. As if that would fix the situation! She told them to hurry up because she "had a line" but there was only 2 other people. She forced them to get out quickly after paying, and when they asked for a bag she threw it at them. You could tell they were really embarrassed. And you could tell she only wanted their money. Looking back this really broke my heart. I really wish I said something to that lady's face. She was beyond rude to them! Terrible customer service! Extremely high prices! My background is half white and half Mexican, but I look very white ngl. I was next in line. When I got there, she was extremely apologetic and even gave me a discount. Looking back, I should of left right after I heard her say those things to that couple and daughter. Me and my friend were in complete shock, and so was the whole store. I'm never coming back here. I have mixed feelings about this place. I myself love a good thrift shop and this place is filled from floor to ceiling with amazing pieces. It is def a favorite place to go if you wanna look around at things for multiple hours. IF however you're looking to actually purchase something the prices are way too steep. I always find a piece of furniture outside i think i can't live without then I see the price and realize i can and i always do. I just can't wrap my head around paying upwards of 100 bucks for a used chair when the goodwill up the street would charge you $20. I did stumble in a couple weeks ago and found some free people dresses for only $8. As those normally go for $80+ i decided to purchase the YELP deal $10 for $20 to buy them. My total of the dresses came out to $22. When I went to the cash register I told the woman I had purchased the yelp deal and handed her the remaining $2. She told me to wait and got out a calculator. Minutes passed of her mumbling and calculating. She told me with the discount she was planning on giving me my total would only be $16 so why don't I just pay her the $16 cash and save the yelp deal for next time. Confused I asked her why i wouldn't just go find something for $4 more dollars then and use the full 10 for 20 deal. She told me that was not how it worked. I am not a stupid person I understood then she wanted the cash not the deal and just told her i would use the deal and sacrifice the remaining 4 bucks. Probably the best thrift store I've ever been in! I've found some great tops here for $5 and $10; they were brands that I recognized and know that they came from nice stores, which still had the tags on them! A really huge selection of furniture, lamps, and table stuff. They get a great selection of designer clothes/ furniture here. I've seen some cool designer vintage clothes, here, too! The store is huge, and well-organized. If you are looking for a bargain on furniture, clothes, tableware, or whatever, this should be one of your first stops! I will not donate here anymore! Somebody who works there, I'm guessing the manager was extremely rude to me!! After the cashier told me they would allow me to buy the books that had just been donated, the manager told me that I was cutting into his profits because they sold them on Amazon, so at point he didn't want to sell them to me!!! I took Joan's advice and made a trek to this thrift store. I had somewhere to be nearby so I mapped it and took some extra time. Wow I wish I lived closer to this Gem. It would be the kind of place I would want to stop in frequently, as I can tell you could find some real GOLD here. They had some vintage dresses that were priced fairly high (Don'tcha hate when they know that a glamor-puss pink chiffon isn't just old fashioned, but is tragically hip too?). I did buy a gorgeous mid-century serving dish in light blue with gold fleck accents, for a mere $5. I also found an ashtray from Kelbo's back in the day when my mom and dad used to go there in their "tiki wear" and drink giant polynesian drinks out of coconuts. Bought that for nostalgia sake. There was a worker who was sweeping the floor, he thought he was in my way so he apologized (so graciously), and proceeded to move the rack back so I could look (even though he wasn't done sweeping around it). I don't understand all these negative reviews. What is wrong with people?! THIS STORE, MERCHANDISE, STAFF AND CAUSE ARE ALL INCREDIBLE!! The goods on sale are impressive and much nicer and of a higher quality than I expected to find in a thrift store. The variety of wares available is overwhelming. This is a massive store. Just when you think you've seen it all you turn a corner and there's even more! Such a fun treasure hunt. I particularly liked how organized the kitchen section is. All of the ceramic and china is grouped by color and arranged on tables, while copper, pots, pans, crystal, stemware, etc is organized by material and displayed on shelves nearby. I went for the first time yesterday and ended up staying a whopping 90 min! I found exactly what I was looking for (4 antique lamps) and more, and was very impressive with the staff on the floor that day. Mary helped me out with some housewares first. She was professional, attentive and has excellent taste. She helped me pick out the perfect lamps and I enjoyed speaking to her in English and Spanish. Assistant Manager Mordechai is friendly, patient, and a joy to talk to. Daniel was working the register that day and was very personable. He speaks Hebrew too :) Store Manager Carlton was kind, fair, and accommodating with a good sense of humor. Seriously, I had such a fantastic experience and was treated so nicely by all of the staff. They were there when I needed them and had questions but also let me wander the HUGE store and shop at my leisure. I never felt pressured or rushed. We bought a leather chair here over this past weekend. $ 250.00. Been in our apt for 4 days now. Yesterday couldnt figure out what the heck the weird, smell was in my apt. After about 20 minutes, finally realized it was coming from the leather chair just purchased from this thrift store. Turned it over, to find that the entire bottom is filled with mold. Not a happy camper to say the least. But then I should have known, since I have driven past this place every weekend for years, and have seen lots of furniture sitting out in the rain, in the past. Well, receipt says all sales final. I will call soon to see what our options are. I researched this morning to see if you can "really" get mold out of furniture, some sites say you can, some say you cant. But after a deep cleaning, it must be set outdoors to dry in direct sunlight, or mold will come back. We dont have the option of cleaning furniture and setting it outside to dry in the sun, since we live in an apartment. I missed the phone call from my roommate when he was calling to tell me what he found, and what I thought. If I had taken that phone call, we would not have this moldy mess in the apt today. Problems with used furniture in the past (from heavy smokers), have made me steer clear of used furniture. But as I said I missed the phone call, and now have to hope we can get our money back. Inspect, Inspect, Inspect, before you buy ! Uhhgggg ! ** Update** Just talked with the store manager. Very friendly, nice. Was informed they could only give us store credit, upon return of the chair and our receipt. What are we gonna do with over 200.00 in store credit at a thrift store ? I am almost sad to see that others are learning about this little gem. I would love to keep it to myself! They are best known for a constant, large selection of Armani Suits. I also love their coats. One day I purchased a Chanel Fur coat for only $100!!!! It was real. :) The furniture is nice, but very expensive. They often charge over $500 for a couch. You can buy one new for that price. The only drawback is that they no longer have a dressing room. Be sure to wear a broom skirt so you can still try on the pants. read more

This thrift shop is more of an antique shop with huge selections of old furniture and housewares. You can get lost looking at everything, and there are so many pretty things. I've been a few times before, but today I went in looking for some small things for my friend. I brought everything to the counter and one tea cup had no price on it. A lady hanging out at the counter, who I assume works there or owns the place, told the cashier to charge me $10 for it even though "it should go for significantly more". It was a bit much for a small teacup, but since it was so cute I didn't say anything. I handed the cashier my phone with the $10 for $20 deal I purchased on yelp. He looked at the lady and she immediately said, oh I didn't know you had a discount already so you can't combine discounts and the cup is actually $15. My husband and I stopped by this place the other day on a whim to look at furniture for our new place and found all sorts of treasures here, including an awesome desk that was previously owned by Mr. Spock himself, Leonard Nimoy! I didn't find their prices any more expensive than Goodwill or Salvation Army, plus Beit T'shuvah's stuff is much better quality. They don't have any IKEA crap there. They have furniture made by Drexel and Thomasville, stuff that'll last a lifetime and is much nicer than any of the crappy new furniture you can buy today. (And yes, they do get their stuff for free and then charge you for it but that's how they make their money so that they can in turn use the money to help out the community. If they charge you an extra ten dollars for something at least you can be happy that ten dollars is going to help out someone who needs it, especially during these tough times.) We found the employees to be extremely nice and helpful. They even helped us load the desk into our SUV. My mom and I are going back today to hunt for more treasures! read more

I've had both bad and good experiences here...hmm my opinion is still up in the air. On this most recent visit I was able to snag 15 adorable teacups and 1 random butterfly plate for $10 though! Well...with the help of the Yelp deal though. PROS -Huge store Lots of items here. Decently well organized as in there are clear sections for items. Items can get pretty jam packed in here though. They have furniture, clothing, housewares, jewelry, etc etc. -Big selection of housewares Generally decently priced here -Quality This thrift store gets better stuff than Goodwill. If you're looking for something that will hold up, this might be the place to go. CONS -Parking They have a few spots of free parking...but its extremely hard to reverse out. The spots basically are on the sidewalk and on a busy intersection. As you try to back up you have to watch for traffic coming down Washington, and also the people turning right onto Washington from Motor. It only takes one person to come around fast from Motor as the parking spots are really close to the corner. I usually just park at a meter for safety. UNDECIDED -Customer Service I've had friendly customer service and downright appalling. Today I had someone wonderful help me out, all smiles and so helpful. Other times I've had extremely grumpy people who didn't seem to want to help. One time I was wearing a backpack and came in, the woman behind the counter asked me to check it in...but did it in a such a way that it wasn't a nice request. Nor did she have any system in place for returning the bags to their rightful owners other than her memory. As I had my laptop in my bookbag, I walked out. -Prices Sometimes the items are decently priced, but overall I've noticed their furniture is way overpriced! Clothes are a bit higher than normal, not really thrift prices, more like Buffalo Exchange. I still come here every now and then as they do have a lot of items here to browse through. There are some really nice things in here at reasonable prices, but there is also A TON OF SHIT!! ;)~ The junk is fine. You see it at yard sales, goodwills, estate sales, etc. but probably at lower prices! I dropped my jaw 50 times after lifting up items to find the price tags. Do they simply pull numbers out of hats and stick them on? There are certainly some deals, but so so so many "WHAT THE FUCK!?!?" prices. Shitty mass produced vase from China you've seen 100 times: $30 Stupid plate with a dog on it: $15 Damaged Yamaha speakers from 1990: $30 EACH If you have a ton of someone else's cash for an interior makeover, you'll strike gold here, but be sure to use the Yelp deals above if you're buying one of the overpriced/damaged small appliances or even a quirky coffee mug. What a cool place. I enjoy stopping by every once in a while and looking around. My trip usually doesn't go beyond the looking stage though, because everything here is pretty wildly expensive. But that is to be expected from a stylish antique store such as this. My parents recently visited from PA, and this was one of the first places I took them (they're antique crazy). They loved the place. If you're looking for some really cool ways to decorate your home, and you've got some cash to throw around, this is where you want to go. Came here for some stuffed animals for my dogs. They kill their toys so quickly I am over buying dog toys for them. Went through the thrift store and it looked like they had a bunch of old junk that was way overpriced. Better to head to a smaller thrift store and get a better deal. After going through isles of random stuff I finally found the toys. The assortment of stuffed animals was pretty gross. Most had stains or were worn out. Will not be coming back here. It's just ok. I find that the prices are a bit high for a thrift store. I have run into staff in both ends of the spectrum-- some uber friendly and others need help in the customer service department. However, my biggest issues are the lack of organization and abundant dust. Since I live blocks away, I've tried to make this my neighborhood store but I can't get over those issues... And this coming from someone who adores hunting for a great deal! Overall, the shopping selection and experience leaves much to be desired. I'm not a thrift store aficionado, but I think it's fair to say that this shop is pretty high up there in quality. It's the Target of thrift stores: something for everyone. Clothes are reasonably priced. They have a large selection, and even have their own "Designer Boutique" with high end clothes at prices that simply can't be beat. Really my only complaint is that their mens jeans selection is a little small. But it's not their fault, as a thrift store they have limited control over what is donated. Highly recommended. Over priced and the merchandise was a mess. I don't mind to hunt for my treasures but they need to be at a discount if that is the case. We went to find lithographs of botanicals and antique oil paintings of florals. At this store, they had one tiny 15 in by 8 in oil painting in poor condition was $1200. Ridiculous. The frame was broken in several places and the artist was not anyone of significance. Ha! None of the art was priced below $150. If you want fair prices I suggest a store that is a block away from this one. We went to the Guy on Motor and bought 5 signed pieces of art for $200!! Two oil canvases painted during the turn of the century, one oil painting signed with beautiful ornate gold frame. The sizes were around 33 x 25 and two smaller paintings. I'm in love with that place. It is hard to find good, fair antique stores in the neighborhood. So often people take advantage. read more

I have to say, this place (which everyone calls BTS Thrift) is AWESOME. They have such a wide collection of furniture, plateware, and kitchenware. I have found some real gems there, including a fully functional cuisinart for $15. They have a great deal if you come within 2 hours of closing (I believe 5-7pm), which is an additional 20% off any item. Also, you can totally haggle here. If you buy more than one item (or see any damage or cosmetic issues) you can get between 10% - 40% off the tag price, in addition to the 20% closing time discount, and any other yelp discounts. When I bought a large dresser, they offered to hold the dresser for me for a couple of days until I could drive back out with my hatchback. Then some of the employees spent 15 minutes helping me load down and strap the dresser inside my car. (They even gave me a cloth to prevent the dresser from damaging my car.) In sum, a great thrift store, especially for larger furniture pieces and kitchenware. read more

I have a fatuation with antiques and thrift stores, especially ones with furniture. They have a large selection of plates, cups, bowls, kitchenware etc. and lots of clothes for both men and women. some of the furniture is absolutely gorgeous but isn't in my price range. sometimes you have to dig for stuff at stores like this, i got a duvet cover, table cloth and 2 slip covers for 8 dollars. I won't pay at these stores unless its a score. They also have designer racks! I think this place is a good option to visit if you're into this sorta thing =] read more

Having just moved to the neighborhood, a friend and I went shopping today. Checked out a bunch of stores and thrift store and this was the worst experience I had. I would have spent a good amount of money here, I found a couple of cute, if over priced, cashmere sweaters, shorts and hats and I wasn't done looking but having a bad experience with not one but two employees was enough to make me put down my stuff and go elsewhere. It's too bad that people have a bad attitude, because I'm in my shopping mode and when I can stand it, I love rooting through the racks and finding stuff to take home. And it's a great way to spend an afternoon with friends you don't see often. Will give the thumbs up to the Treasure Trove, got a pair of seven jeans for a dollar and a tee shirt for 2. Definitively won't be back, can't support even a thrift store with rude employees, there is always something better elsewhere. read more

If the Salvation Army owned this place, it'd be one of those pricey "boutique stores" they've been trying to make popular and all the prices would skyrocket. Fortunately, this is not the case. The proceeds from this store benefit a Jewish residential addiction treatment and prevention center named "Beit T'Shuvah." I have a feeling the local Jewish community has donated a decent portion of their merchandise and, as a result, you'll find some very interesting items that you normally wouldn't find at a thrift store. The place is a rather decent size, big enough to hold several pieces of furniture, dozens of collections of dinnerware, and a variety of housewares from new models to devices you haven't seen since the 70s. My first trip got me a set of $5 matryoshka dolls (Russian nested dolls), on another recent visit I found a pair of saddlebags and a ceramic business card and pen holder fashioned into an underwood typewriter. Despite the fact their wares are of far better quality than most thrift stores, the prices remain reasonable. If you're looking for something unique or something fancy without a huge price tag, you should drop in and take a look. read more

I accidentally found this wonder on my way to the west side... and stayed inside so long I had to re-feed the meter out front. What makes it a wonder? It's well-organized, (mostly) decently priced, and though most of their stuff is average (it's all in good shape at least), it's dotted with the really eccentric stuff resale shoppers drool over (you should SEE the teal/blue shimmery jump suit with built in hood that I almost bought even though it was too small... perfect for my first trip to space!). I agree with others that some stuff was expensive (furniture mostly), but some stuff is way cheap -- I bought a set of sheets for $4, and an antique hat for $8. I almost bought (I call it "mental spending") an awesome set of 70s flowered plates/cups for $20, a fur coat (real fur, $70, but it was in awesome shape)... but I'm about to move so had to resist. It's across the street from Sony (studios) so some of the cool stuff comes from there, I plan on checking back often to see what new things show up. read more

The gallery of furniture and antiques prices have raised since the new management, and with the wardrobe... But when I find amazing treasures like this beautiful vintage 60s beaded gown for $10, that a dry cleaning will make this piece is going to be an amazing new addition to my costume dept! Being a wardrobe stylist and fashion editor, I'm constantly adding new treasures and gems to my collection from this treasure shop! This place is awesomee! It is full of knick nacks and the merchandise overflows to the front lawn during the day. It is right across the street from Sony studios and I heard that they donate their stuff to Beit T Shuvah when they are done with it so I was intrigued to take a look. They have lots of art which is the first thing that I noticed that set this thrift store apart from lets say, a Goodwill. I was able to walk away with a few good steals, namely a set of Williams Sonoma bee measuring cups made of porcelain for 2 bucks. Heck yeah! I also got a couple items for the house to personalize it and make my house a home. On my way out I saw some quality Thomas the choo choo train toys as in a springy ride that you usually find in amusement parks. What a find! read more
