The prices are absolutely delusional. Arrived excited by the size and variety of wares, but after seeing the prices I just took off. They want over 100 bucks for a beaten up old plastic consumer grade 5-disc CD changer, for example. Worn and clearly damaged furniture and other goods for like-new prices. They definitely have a lot of stuff here and the space that they have is huge. The staff is friendly. The only two issues I have is some items (not all) are barely even discounted. I saw this wooden vase and they were asking for $60. I know the shop that sells the same exact item and sells it for $75 (new). So certain things like that were if it looks like it's going to be a popular/nice item its a bit pricey. But it makes sense this place 100% of the proceeds go to the rehab facility that they run. Costs of services to keep it running is expensive. The other issue is parking. But that's Culver City. Definitely recommend this place. Just be ready to hang out for a while. The longer you stay the better buried treasures you'll be able to find. read more

Well, they have a big and growing collection of cool stuff. It's like a fine junk museum. I walk in there, and I often say, "Hey, look at that." The reason they don't move their merch very fast is because everything is way over-priced. Especially the clothes, furniture, and books. Many of these items can be had for half the price if you shop Goodwill and Out of the Closet regularly. You know how the Salvation Army often has a separate "High End" shop next to their regular store? This place just cuts out the bargains and goes straight to the mark-up. This thrift store is somewhere in between a thrift and a vintage store. They have good stuff here, but at a price. Someone definitely has a discerning eye, but it's still, you know... a thrift store where they get their items for free... That being said, I got an awesome pair of Jessica Simpson shoes in my size (!!10!!) for fifteen bucks! That's a good deal! However, I really feel bad about giving only three stars to thrift stores because they are good for the community... but I just can't describe the shock and horror I felt when I asked them what "25" on the tag of a tie meant... you know, twenty five cents? two dollars and fifty cents? NOPE. Twenty five friggin bucks for a tie that you got, might I say it again? FOR FREE! ew. ew, ew, ew. I'd recommend this place to some of my friends who might be too finicky to go into regular thrift stores and just want something awesome to pop up in front of them... But I will not be going back. Very Expensive!! An employee grabbed an item, and yelled across the store, "This is selling for $250 on eBay!! She then took the item to the front so the price tag could be changed. You know a store is delusional when they look at the highest asking (unsold) eBay price for an item that is somewhat similar to what they are selling, and use that as a pricing gauge. If you're a bargain hunter, stay away, you won't find deals here. If you're a collector, then you might as well just buy from eBay because there will be more selection and lower prices. Some examples: $60 for used, generic sports coat; $12 for a used plate with generic Chinese pattern. Lots of potential in this store, but for these prices, it's really not worth it. The only way I would return to this store is if they had a 75% off sale. read more

I love thrift stores. Its pretty hard to for me to find any flaws, usually I walk into a new store and find gems. There is a lot of stuff in here! Take your time to browse every section of this mini department store: furniture, clothing, luggage, jewelry, kitchen ware, and so much more! It's a pretty big store. Lots to look at. It can be overwhelming but the staff try to keep it organize. I will say their stuff is on the pricey side. You can negotiate and get a couple dollars off on some of your items. But let me tell you---the cashier will give you a hard time about it. I mean it's a thrift store. Really? An item I wanted still had a Ross price tag at the bottom of $49.99 on it and he wouldn't budge at $45. Really? It's used. And had a couple of marks on it. I'd rather pay full price for a new one. Don't get me wrong you can find some really good things there. But the bigger items? Don't even bother. It will be so expensive that you will have to remind yourself you're buying something that's used and old. But if you want a couple of plates and some coffee mugs? This is the place to go! I came here on a Saturday afternoon/evening around 4pm. It was close to my apartment and I had one goal in mind: to find an ugly Christmas sweater for my holiday party later that evening. I saw the Yelp reviews and thought I should give it a try! Parking was a bit hard to find so I turned into another neighboring street and luckily found parking by the apartments. I'm sure if they if had a parking lot, but when I went, I sure didn't see one. The place is a bit small, but it's definitely JAM PACKED with all sorts of goodies. They do have a very large collection of clothes, particularly for women. But I managed to see some good finds for men, some of them were really good deals too. However, I was really looking for an "ugly christmas" sweater. The place is kind of hard to navigate through because it's so filled with goodies. You kind of have to make your own path at times and make room for another passerby. When you first walk in, the cashier/counter is directly to the left (very small area to walk through to get to them though) and after that it's filled with clothes beyond imagining! To the right of the store you'll find a lot of other things: picture frames, lots and lots of furniture, glasses, jars, and vases, paintings and so much more! For the price of things and the abundant collections they have, this is a really neat thrift store! In the end, I bought a sweater for $10 that wasn't so ugly and ended up being reversible!!!! That's basically 2 sweaters for $5 a piece, and my friends were like... are you sure that's not a sweater from XPRESS or GAP!?!?! Hahahaha. TIP: USE THE YELP DISCOUNT :) read more

BTS thrift shop has some really nice clothes at amazing prices. Last Saturday I found a pair of brand new pants, with the tags on reading $195 for $15. They are really nice and I couldn't stop telling my boyfriend how much I love them this week. If you like treasure hunting you will like BTS. The only reason why I cannot give BTS 5 stars though is because their employees are generally pretty awful. I think that this is likely because they hire people who have had some major problems before and as a result aren't quite right in the head. It's horrible to say, but true I fear. When they are closing, they have a person literally yelling at everyone to get out. Also they apparently have only a 3 day return policy (even for store credit or an exchange) and they are militant about this. Finally the people working the counter are just odd. You will see what I mean if you go. Ohhh but the pants....it's worth it in the end. read more

I paid another visit to BT today. Since my initial visit in April, they've started pricing some records at $2 or $3 although the pricing seems sort of indiscriminate. Kenny Loggins LP $3, Lalo Schiffrin's Dirty Harry OST $1. Need I say mo'? Quality of the selection is still unremarkable. I think one guy donated his soundtrack collection - and I picked it through so you're basically out of luck, unless you want the Tootsie soundtrack. I grabbed a couple Polaroid cameras (working) for $5 each as well as an Olympus XA2 (pretty banged up) for $3. If you're looking for mid-century modern stuff, you really won't find it here. Maybe an ashtray or vase but no MCM furniture. read more

Cashier lady was really nice & friendly. The selection here is okay. The prices are def. LA thrift prices - $7 for skirts (in OC it's around $3-$4 for skirts) $10 for a brass tray that I can get at the antique market for $1. (okay, maybe not $1 but around $4, definitely not $10) I am surprised this store is still in business with such absurd prices. The prices are extremely high for a place that gets all their inventory DONATED. I mean, come on. Don't need to gouge people now. It's located across the street from a movie studio so maybe that's why? Who knows. Anyway, I waited until I got here to purchase the yelp deal. (just in case I didn't find anything) I purchased it right on my phone and used it a minute later. Found a really cool floral yarn/thread piece marked at $35. TIP: Don't ever pay sticker price, always ask if it's negotiable. That's what I did, got $5 off and on top of my yelp deal scored a sweet wall art piece for $20. Not bad! :) read more

A great place to go if you are looking for furniture or a special piece. I feel like it is a bit over priced as it is suppose to be a "thrift store". But all in all they are willing to negotiate with you and you can find some good deals....just be prepared to dig...I don't remember it being this jam packed...however I like that they added the dressing room! Yes, there are some pieces with crazy prices that make me think the pricing is done according to the pricer's personal tastes. But whatever, because apparently that person doesn't have the same tastes as me because I SCORED a rare Adidas jersey/dress, handmade vintage skirt, tank top, and purse for $13 (thanks in part to the $20 for $10 Yelp deal). This is definitely worth a look. Just be prepared for a crowded mish mash of stuff and a wide spectrum of prices. read more

This place used to be really good about 2-3 years ago. Then they changed management and IMO went way down hill. Previously it wasn't so cluttered like today. Back then all clothes were in the best condition and reasonably priced. Now I literally feel I have to wash my hands after going through the clothes racks. Sweaters with moth holes for $30? As far as thrift stores go, this one is on the smaller side so it's been hit or miss for me for the last few years. But that doesn't stop me from coming in every now and then to browse/treasure hunt! There's a large selection of furniture here, about half the square footage is a separate room full of furniture, pictures, and larger home decor. I usually breeze through that part quickly, and really concentrate on the clothing and housewares. I've seen some nice shoes here, some recognizable named clothing items, interesting dressier dresses (not my style but SOMEONE would like them), and lots of dishes, silver, crystal, glasses, toasters, pots and pans, silverware and kitchen utensils, books, toys, men's clothing, etc. My best find over the years was a Kenneth Cole black leather jacket for $20 - re-conditioned to brand-spanking-new-buttery-leather and perfect-looking by my awesome shoe repair guy (Quality Shoes on SM Blvd!). I've also gotten $1 used books and a Miracle Ball set for a couple dollars. I find that the Goodwill and Salvation Army is cheaper than here - for some reason I've noticed that the Jewish community-benefited thrift stores tend to charge more for their stuff - this place included - but I figure it's all for a good cause! read more

Got several deals at their old location on Pico and Lincoln when it shut down, but this location still has bargains for those who look. Just went there and had several Sinatra albums from his Capitol and Reprise years. Yours for the taking. They had a bit too much wear for me. The price is right at a dollar a pop. The men's section is disappointing considering the breadth and depth of the stock at this store. Lots of overpriced 1980s suits with 5" lapels. Aw man I wish I had checked-in on Yelp for the 50% discount...meh whatever I still really like this place and definitely recommend stopping by if you are looking for HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF TINY TEA CUPS!! :) Okay but really!!!! There's also tons of paintings and bigger furniture items. The place is not super duper dirt cheap but I think it's well priced for the quality and use. When it comes to thrifting, I only go if I'm just in the mood to slowly look around. Otherwise it's just difficult to specifically shop for a certain item. I want to go back though and buy a few different tea cups though. I actually found this awesome standing lamp for $22, the person at the register just gave it to me for an even $20. Neat! Just went here for the second time today looking for stuff for my wedding (It's going to be a kind of shabby-chic, low budget affair). Bought the Yelp deal so I had $20 to spend for $10. Though admittedly most of the clothes look like they came straight out of an old Jewish lady's closet (Hint: they probably did), the housewares section is pretty sweet. Lots of cool/vintage-y dishes, glassware, silver, etc. I was also surprised with the large number of African/tribal decor pieces they had up front. Didn't ask about the prices, but I would guess they aren't cheap. In terms of prices, it's definitely not Goodwill. I think some stuff, especially some of the clothing, is really overpriced (I heard them quote a lady $5 for this super ugly, shrunken looking sweater that I would not pay $1 for, and there is this rack of "Vintage" items where a normal looking cotton skirt was $40. BUT there are definitely still good deals to be had. AND the quality and selection is definitely better than most Goodwills I've ever been to. I scored 6 gorgeous, mismatched, vintage-y plates (priced $3 each/ except one that was $4), 20 old, embroidered handkerchiefs to be used as napkins (.25 cents each), 1 old glass bottle with a chip in it that still looks sweet and was only .50 cents, and an old blue bottle that says it was made in 1880 and looks like it might be hand-blown? (priced $6). With my yelp deal I only paid $20.50 for all of that, so I was pretty stoked. Not dirt cheap, and I would probably rate it a bit lower without the great Yelp deal, but I really love what I got. On top of that the staff was really helpful. One lady let me store my basket behind the counter so I could dig amongst the glasswares easier and was in general quite pleasant. I'll be going back. Probably next week. read more

Terrible experience! We called yesterday to ask if they had any film lenses in their store and the guy we spoke to said they did. We asked if for prices and he kept saying between $5-$100 but didn't want to give us specific prices and specific names of the lenses. We asked if we could speak to someone else he didn't want to help he continued to make excuses that the store was too big or that the other employee was too far etc. We left it alone and decided to come today in person. Keep in mind I'm coming from downtown Long Beach this far to see lenses. I walk in and I am waiting for my turn in line when the employees behind the counter begin to argue and yell at each other about being with customers. Then to find out they do not have any lenses at all nothing nada absolutely no lenses. Such a waste of time and gas to drive this far. I thought about how can I make this trip worth it and I began to explore the store to see what I could find maybe a hidden gem... ugh everything is too overpriced, not good condition nor clean.
