I came here for kitchen stuff. Lots and lots of good quality dishes, glasses, etc. and they even have a tub of silverware (mostly table knives) which for some reason I cannot find at any other thrift store. Everything's sorted by material too (glass, wood, silver). I bought a pair of martini glasses and a handful of knives for $6. They were lacking in plastics (I was looking for cups and measuring spoons etc. and found nothing), that's my only complaint. They have a few parking spots in the front, otherwise good luck on the street. read more

To all the reviewers who think this store is a scam, that couldn't be further from the truth. The BTS Thrift Store is part of Beit T'Shuvah, a NONPROFIT addiction treatment center, and synagogue. The profits from the thrift store go straight to the treatment center so that people who cannot afford treatment can get it. I am one of those people and I wouldn't be here today if not for their help. BTS residents also volunteer their time to the store so as to help them acclimate back into "the real world" and learn responsibility. The thrift store also employs some past residents. You should do your research before putting slanderous claims about an ACTUAL charity shop online. read more

So sad! Usually the staff is lovely! Today I listened to a short full figured woman with a salt and pepper ponytail (on the side no less like it was 1972) bitch loudly! She slammed the front counter staff, store management etc.... It clearly embarrassed the blonde male coworker she had trapped in the back room. He kept trying to work and she would not leave it alone. Then she was rude and basically drove a man out of the store when he asked about swapping a carpet he had bought from them for another in a different color. No exchanges or returns! I respect the policy but not the behavior. Thank God everyone else is nice (some bordering on great) and that's how a charity thrift store should be. Wow! I had to thank my friend for recommending that I check out this place. It's one of the best thrift stores that I've been in over the years. There are wonderful pieces which I proudly display in my home. My friends can't believe what I find. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable, freely offering assistance if you are open to their advice. I especially like Andie who has helped on several occasions, providing background on pieces and offering an art education lesson as I browse the rows of items in the store. This place has everything. And each time you go, there are different offerings. And not junk, as you find in some thrift stores. There are a lot of high quality items to be found here. When I needed a tuxedo to go to Cannes this past spring, I could not afford a new tuxedo: I'm an indie actor on a budget. I found a terrific tux that fit me to a T and the trip was amazing! On another occasion, I needed a super 8 video camera so that I could convert my old video tapes to digital. They had a canon super 8 video cam kit that was in phenomenal condition. This shop has a decent variety of thrift goods overall. I originally thought things were overpriced (I.e. $18 for a plain crew neck sweater) but then they cut the total price in half so all was definitely reasonable for thrift fare. It's on the smaller end of thrift stores, but has a big selection of kitchen/cook ware and furniture. Womens clothing is less stocked but I usually find an item or two. read more

I donate all my stuff to the BTS Thrift store because I know the money is going to very worthy cause, the BTS Drug and Alcohol rehab center. Many of my friends have been through that program and are doing so well. It is a miracle and they do such great work. The merchandise at the store is first rate. They get a lot of estate things so you can find exquisite items and clothing. Plus, the people there are all from the temple and treat you with kindness and love. This place used to have a great selection of quality mixed with junk at good prices. Which made up for the total chaos in the store. It's still total chaos in the store but their prices are insane. $5 for a single drinking glass? Used, and not a fancy brand. $150 for an upholstered chair that needs to be reupholstered, and is not a fancy brand. I can't imagine who would buy anything here at these prices. read more

The people at the thrift store were amazing. I called them early Monday morning after a large Estate sale and the manager (Veronica) had a team of people come the next day to pack everything up. The day after that she had 3 strong men come to the house to pack up the truck. We were so worried how to donate a whole house of goods and BTS was incredible, fast and efficient. Not only were we able to clear out the house quickly and organized but we were able to save a few lives at the same time! I highly recommend this charity to everyone. read more

Unfortunately, this thrift store, which used to be one of my favorite places to visit, has gone downhill fast. First of all the place has become a chaotic mess. There is stuff piled everywhere and it is impossible to get to some areas of the store without literally climbing over couches etc. I think this is due to problem number two, the prices, which were always a little on the high side, have gotten absolutely outrageous. My favorite thing to pick up in the past was artwork - nothing fancy, just things by no-name artists that I happened to like. Not anymore. If there is a signature, expect to pay hundreds of dollars. They have art in heaps everywhere because of their ridiculous prices, but they don't seem to be getting the hint. Finally, a number of the employees who work there need to work on their customer service and drop the attitude. I don't know if it is because the place has become so chaotic, but some of the employees are quite unpleasant. I really hope management reads this and makes some changes. I was a loyal customer (buying things every single week), but it isn't worth stopping by anymore. I always leave empty handed and irritated. Bummer. read more

As an avid successful thrift/vintage shopper I checked this Boutique out to see what selection, quality, quantity of goods they have. The downside is that this shop has limited parking and is VERY busy on the weekends so it's best to go early AM. The furniture selection runs the gamut from kitsch to hi-end used pieces, most of which show obvious signs of wear and tear. There is a wide selection of dining utensils kitchenware, glasses, mugs etc. making this shop a go-to if you're looking for that hard-to-find pepper grinder or set of gold rimmed champs glasses. Now, the clothes, the main attraction. Again, styles, sizing, colors, condition run the gamut, mostly from the '80s & upward, along w/a designer room that doesn't have much that can be integrated into au courant or avant guarde. The jeans selection is limited and the shoe collection generally contains basic styles mostly well-worn. Still, it's worth a look-see and I give it 4 stars for limited parking, general run-down condition of items, for a good selection of housewares, pricing higher than that of my personal "fav" thrift stores which I keep a closely guarded secret!! read more

I'm always pleased with the pieces I discover in my quest to find something rare, familiar, and unfamiliar. I've gone to the Rose Bowl, Pasadena City College, the LB flea market, the Melrose Flea, NCJW, and quite a few Good Wills. And I have to say, not one of them comes close to the BTS. I am especially happy for the assistance of Andrea ("Andy"), the BTS resident art specialist. Her research abilities, knowledge, and personable demeanor, in my opinion, make her the most valuable, priceless, and rarest of the art there. In short, if you are looking for interesting and rare art, patronage the BTS. And if you have questions, talk to "Andy". She knows her stuff. In addition, "Kudos" to the entire staff of the BTS.
