We were dying for burgers and fries. Bubba's nailed it. No lettuce, onion or tomato recommended here. Instead they recommend you have it 'Bubba's way', with relish, mustard and cheese. They will add onion, but they don't recommend it. What you get is a perfectly cooked burger like the one you'd get when you were a kid. The patty isn't taken over by a huge bun either, so if you want large, get a double. We also ordered fries and onion rings (it had been a long time since we'd had a burger and fries) and ate every last one. We're going back for another before we go home next week. Hint! There is a Bubba's on the South shore and one on the North shore, this one is East shore, an da best. read more

Teri mayo is to die for with the fries. Loved coming to this place growing up, but now it's become ridiculous to pay 7 bucks for a tiny plain Teri burger, when the portion hasn't increased. Service is always minimal, but never indecent. As far as getting my money's worth, I need to really be craving the specific taste of this place to feel I got my money's worth. Get the Double Bubba (w/ cheese), Get some fires and get some onion rings. Dig in! I would compare this place to In N Out or Johnny Rockets. It's perfect food to fuel up after getting pounded by the surf all day. You can park on the street or they have a lot too. We like to go to that beach across the street so this place is great. Tried the Maui taro burger and French fries. The fries were crispy and delicious. However, the taro patty was pretty soggy and did not have much flavor. More spices and longer grilling time would probably have remedied this. They also put lettuce and tomato on the burger for no extra charge since I ordered a veggie patty. The lettuce and tomato didn't taste great, although they warn you right on the menu that their veggies have to be shipped from the mainland, and as a result they are not as fresh. read more

I was super excited to try given the hype and reviews. If you want a beef patty and fries, this will serve your purpose. Ordered the teriyaki burger on the island known for their pineapples. Yep, nothing but onions and a squirt of teriyaki. Lesson: read the menu very carefully don't assume because everything on the planet that is teriyaki has pineapple you get it here. Ordered with cheese-you guessed it-missing. But I had waited too long for it the first time I didn't want to make others in my group to have to wait for me to eat after they would be finished. Chili cheese fries? Pass-very little cheese and canned chili poured on top. Finally, the biggest disappointment was the banana shake. OMG you can't go to any farmers market without bananas everywhere. They are growing outside my hotel window for Pete's sake! Yet their banana milkshake tasted like fake laffy taffy banana flavor. Suggest you go to Duanes Ono Burger up the road. Fresh, awesome, and local. read more

Super disappointed about this place after all the reviews. First time on the island and found it on Yelp. When we arrived there was a long line that moved slow. Not a big deal being on vacation but from the time we arrived until we had food in our bellies it took over an hour. That doesn't seem right for a simple burger and fries restaurant. The two guys on the grill didn't seem to have a good system and seemed to be overwhelmed by all the orders piling up. Then once they called our name the order was still wrong. The menu even said if you dont want onions say something. We did and still got onions plus there were items missing so we had to wait longer. To be honest the burger was nothing special and the shakes were not good. We got 2 bubbas and 1 double burger with fries, 2 shakes and onion rings. The onion rings were the best thing. Sorry bubba but the burger joint the day we went was not on point. We wont be going back and would reccomend many other eating options on the island instead. read more

The actual *taste* of the food was good ( I liked the Teriyaki burger just fine) , but the servings for the price (even for Hawaiian standards) was not up to par! Too expensive, way too expensive for that tiny single patty. The onion rings were great-huge and perfectly battered, but again, $4.00 for 4 rings. A dollar a ring, really? We eat at Bubbas at least once during every trip. It's always been pretty good and at times even great. I really like the teriyaki burger, but wish they served coke products as we are not big pepsi fans. We have 3 kids, and burgers are always a crowd pleaser. The counter help tends to be hit or miss sometimes. All in all, a pleasant experience. Looking forward to my Bubbas burger next week, as we will be heading back to island again. Lucky me!! read more

A middle of the road experience. Service was very friendly and personable, burgers and fries were very mediocre. If this is what grass fed beef tastes like, bring on the antibiotic popping mass produced cows. Onion rings were fabulous. As with many places in Kauai, loved sitting outside to eat, and the bar tables outside have a nice view of the ocean. The only slightly disconcerting part was the sparrows that would fly around you with less fear than the main characters from a Hitchcock movie. Between the fearless flying birds and roaming chickens there, I feared we'd run into a creepy cage of lovebirds somewhere on the property. Good news- there aren't any, just the slightly overzealous local birds- and if you protect your food enough, they'll at least let you eat. read more

This was easily my favorite of all the places I ate on my recent trip to Kauai. Service was excellent, everyone was so friendly and helpful. The food was reasonably priced, my husband and I each got a burger, fries and drink and didn't even pay 20$. The first bite was so refreshing, since the beef is grass fed in Kauai it's fresh, and you can taste it. The patties are the perfect size. We loved it so much my husband went back for seconds. The French fries are nice and crispy and I had a friend order the onion rings which were also delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a cheap, fast and quality meal. read more

We are here a couple of times during our vacation. We ordered the double Teri burger, double bubba, the Kauai burger, fries, and onion rings. We didn't have to wait very long for our food and it came out pipping hot. We enjoyed every last bite of our burgers, the fries were good, and the onion rings were awesome!!
