    Paradise Tiki

I visited Kemah Boardwalk with my boyfriend and some of his family for a fun day out, and we decided to stop at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.--mostly for the nostalgia of Forrest Gump. The atmosphere definitely delivered on that classic movie charm, but the food experience fell just a bit short for me. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a full Forrest-Gump-themed gift shop. It's actually pretty entertaining--you can browse around, laugh at the movie references, and even pick up a few souvenirs while you wait. We chose to sit outside since the sun had just set and the weather was perfect. The deck overlooking the water was honestly the highlight--peaceful, breezy, and beautiful. I ordered the Paradise Tiki cocktail, and that was a win. Not too strong, not too sweet--just the right balance. Sweet drinks usually upset my stomach, so I'm picky, but this one was smooth and refreshing. Definitely worth trying at least once. For my entrée, I ordered the Shrimp New Orleans--grilled shrimp over rice with a Cajun-style sauce. The shrimp itself was cooked well: tender, not rubbery, nicely seasoned. Where it fell flat for me was the sauce. With my Cajun roots, I'm familiar with authentic Cajun flavors, and this just didn't hit the mark. It wasn't bad--it just wasn't that Cajun depth I was hoping for. Our service was solid. We actually had two servers rotating between us--one was our bartender, the other our main server--and they tag-teamed to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall, we had a great time soaking in the Forrest Gump nostalgia and enjoying the evening with family. If you're a fan of the movie or just want the experience, I'd definitely recommend stopping by. But if you're a true Cajun food lover or seafood purist, just know the flavors may not fully satisfy your expectations. Still, it's worth visiting at least once for the vibes alone.

Cool location but ... Service and atmosphere (5 stars): The restaurant has perfect location right by the boardwalk and water channel. You can sit by the window or on the balcony and enjoy passing by boats. The restaurant itself is clean, well organised and decorated. It definitely has a cool vibe. The staff were nice and friendly. Our waitress Jade was super friendly and attentive. Thank you. Food and drinks: Unfortunately, food wasn't the best. We started off with fried calamari. The calamari was too small and over-fried which caused for not much seafood left after cooking except for big crumbs of butter. The other plate with shrimp coated in sweet sauce wasn't too good either and we left half of them on the plate. We didn't want to order anything else after the starter. Pricing: $$ - majority of dishes $$$ - selected dishes like lobster tail or steak

Food was average at best. Service was slow, even though the place wasn't busy. Our appetizer came out cold and bland, and while the replacement was much better, the overall meal still missed the mark. Not terrible, just nowhere near worth the price. The decor, movie memorabilia, and Kemah Boardwalk location were the highlights. Go for the experience but not so much for exceptional food.

Jade was amazing! My hubby and I met here 16 years ago; 1st date so this place is special. Here we are years later and the food is just as amazing as ever; service phenomenal and the atmosphere amazing!!! Ask for Jade! She's precious and so sweet and professional! Thank you, Bubba Gumps for making our Valentine's Day anniversary, extra amazing and special and going above and beyond for us.

The staff sang Happy Birthday to my sister. This made her day!

We went to Bubba Gump Shrimp for my sister's birthday. I ordered the shrimp jambalaya and appetizer sampler. The jambalaya had a strong tomato taste, and the appetizer sampler was very underwhelming. A disappointment in taste. I was expecting a home cooked meal, but got franchise food. Overall, the food was over priced and tasted bland. The excellent service of the staff made up for the disappointment of the food. They were very attentive and friendly which provided us with a pleasant dining experience. They even sang Happy Birthday to my sister and gave her a free dessert !! The restaurant was near the waterfront so we had an excellent view of Galveston Bay. The place felt very festive and family oriented. I probably won't eat here again, but I'm glad we had the experience.

First time at this restaurant and I would go back. Right off the bat we got greeted and sat within 10 mins. While we waited, we were entertained by the merchandise near the entrance. We chose to sit outside and enjoyed the view of the ocean. The drink menu has a decent selection. The food was delicious. The service was good and everyone we encountered was friendly. The only improvement would be the cleanliness of the bathroom.

The food was awesome!! Me and my girlfriend went to Kemah for the first time for my birthday and we found this place. I loveee their Jenny's Salmon and Shrimp. Our server Ashley did an awesome job with everything. Shes the best!! Definitely returning next time. I will gladly say its an honor to be here eating this yummy food near the docks. Great ambience!! 10/10 Service 10/10 Clean 10/10 Food

    Shrimper's heaven

I really wanted to enjoy this food because I was really hungry. Also, I hate writing AND reading bad reviews. Nobody likes it. Unfortunately the food was below average. I asked our server if any of the fish was fresh from the gulf. She said No, it's all flown in frozen. Womp womp. The Bang bang shrimp was ok. Not in a sauce but had sauce on it. It was falling to pieces and not much flavor. I ordered the shrimper's heaven. Whatever you order, do not order the tempura shrimp! It's a manufactured piece of shrimp. A machine forms each one and they taste like uncooked flour. Even ketchup couldn't fix it. The coconut shrimp was good but that is all you can taste... You have to LOVE coconut; Can't get any brininess from the shrimp. The regular fried shrimp was all I could eat. I tried my husband's fish n chips. It was ok, just tasted a bit doughy. I must say the mango mojito was very tasty and my husband liked his top shelf margarita that came with a side car of Cointreau. Our server forgot we were there and took the table next to us the things I asked for but we survived it. It was a nice view! I like being out on the water like that. It's always chill to sit and look at water.

The food was okay nothing special. I was expecting more because of the price though. The service was amazing and so welcoming. This place seems like a nice casual family friendly restaurant.

Not a bad day here for a Wednesday before the 4th of July. My daughter and I went to Kemah Boardwalk rides and then here to eat. Second time coming. Cold A/C, blows directly on top of table depending on where you sit in here, so we moved to another table. Anything with shrimp is a must. We both had grilled shrimp with fish, don't remember the plate entree names. Just in comparison to to last visit and overall value over other places with seafood...it does remind me of Joe's Crab Shack. The name brings you in. But there's not a whole lot shaking here on the menu, I think. Ambiance is well put together and the concept here too. My rating went down since last time here.

We weren't seated in the greater eating area where it was cooler and maybe where the gnats were less of a bother. The food was delicious and homemade, you can tell it was made with high quality ingredients and that Southern skill that you can only get from helping Grandma in the kitchen. BUT the roaches made us lose our appetite. Such a shame. It seemed like the building went down. They don't seem to put as much effort into the condition of that place as they do the food. Dusty ceiling fans and crummy floors. I appreciate the homey vibe but it looked really junky, more stuff piled in unoccupied corners as before. I gave a lot of things the side eye, I mean it there has to be maintained asthetic. They charged an 18% gratuity on my tab for a party of 8 but I arrived with 4 people, the other 4 had already been there, paid and was almost done with their meal. Then of course the cashier/waitress still mentioned an additional, optional tip. I didn't think that was fair. At the end of it all she wasn't the best waitress.

I want to review my meal. Their menu lists that the burger is on a brioche bun ... check that one off of the item list. A hearty patty is also placed inside of the bun and along with it are pickles, lettuce, onion and tomato. Check and double Check. Mayo is slathered on the buns, at just the right amounts that make it taste good, but not so much that it slides the innards of the burger all over the place making the chomping experience mushy. Flavors were good, I had just hoped the patty fit the bun a little better. The ratio was a bit more bun sided than oatty sided. My fries, crinkle cut, were seasoned well. Well enough that no ketchup was needed to dip them into for additional flavor. I would have liked a bit more crispiness from a double fry, but these were toothy enough to get a decent mouth feel. The meal for the three of is was about 47.00, so inflation has also hit my hometown dining places as bad as they have hit my current home near The Woodlands. Will i return to eat there the next time I visit Mom? If she wants to go, then yes, yes I would. I would also hit it alone just for their chicken fried steak or chicken. Ciao, Darrell

The stuffed jalapenos were excellent, very flavorful and stuffed with crab and cheese. I also ordered the chicken fried chicken, which was great, especially with their toast. I used to come here all the time with an ex-boyfriend but haven't been back in years. I made the drive from Katy to Bacliff to pick up some vintage garden trellises, and at just two miles away, I immediately knew lunch had to be at T-Bone Tom's. One of my favorite things about this place is the absolutely massive outdoor seating area. It's covered, so normally it's a fantastic place to sit without roasting in direct sun, but after several days of heavy rain mixed with Houston humidity and temperatures around 90 degrees, there was absolutely no convincing anyone in my party that sitting outside for lunch was a good idea. Only my second time ever sitting indoors here. The place was already bustling by 11:30 and packed by noon, which tells you everything you need to know. We were greeted immediately when we arrived, and even though we came through the back entrance for patio seating, the hostess was cheerful and accompanied us to the dining room, where we were also immediately greeted by one of the indoor hostesses. Our server Joshua was excellent throughout the meal--friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and always on top of things. We started with drinks and boudin balls, which came with four and ranch dressing. I tend to go through phases of what I'm addicted to, and right now it's boudin balls. If it's on the menu, I'm ordering them. These were fried to perfection, hot, and delicious. A great appetizer to start the meal. While we waited to order our main course, there were two things our table seemed to rave about: giant drink glasses and crackers. It sounds silly, but not having to constantly wait around for refills makes a big difference. And crackers on the table? It seemed like memory lane for the older members of our party, who quite enjoy bits of nostalgia. So few restaurants bother doing little things like that anymore, so my lunch selection was awarding me kudos before the lunch even started! Mom and Mark split the 14 oz. ribeye with spinach and potato salad. Although splitting two sides might have been enough, Mom added a side of mashed potatoes for herself. It's always a toss up with restaurants and steak. True mediums aren't always a true medium--you have to order medium rare or medium well to get it just right. But the medium here is actually a medium. Mom kept talking about how delicious the steak was and said it was one of the best she's had in a long time. If you know my mom, compliments don't come easy. It's a big deal. Ha. I ordered the plate I always get: the Monterey chicken with fried okra and spinach. It may have been years since I was last here, but this dish is as excellent as it has always been, if not better. The chicken was incredibly tender, cooked perfectly, and covered with flavorful mushrooms and onions. I also really love that their vegetables are homemade rather than straight out of a freezer bag. The fried okra and fresh spinach were wonderful. Berta ordered the chopped beef sandwich with potato salad. They gave her so much beef, there was enough for two people to enjoy that plate. She ended up taking more than half home. We finished the meal with vanilla ice cream and their infamous bread pudding, which was warm, rich, and easily enough dessert for four people to share. Mom had ordered it for herself and said she didn't want to share, but when she saw how big the portion was, she asked Berta and I to join in. T-Bone Tom's is a popular place among locals and tourists alike. It offers great food, a fun atmosphere, friendly service, and remains one of those places that still feels uniquely Texas in the best possible way. We'll definitely be back, and much sooner this time!

Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and service moved quickly. We started with the brisket queso, which came out velvety, smoky, and incredibly flavorful, easily the standout of the night. For our entrée, we shared the two‑meat platter with brisket and sausage; the brisket had good flavor but was a bit chewy and slightly dry, while the sausage was well‑seasoned and tasty. We chose curly fries and mashed potatoes for our sides, both simple but delicious, and my husband especially enjoyed the BBQ sauce since it isn't overly sweet like many others. We had a great time, ate well, and T-Bone Tom's delivered exactly what we were hoping for.

We sat by the wine cellar/private dining room and were graciously served by Amanda. Our table ordered the goddess pasta (you can add shrimp or chicken) and the elote ravioli (as suggested by Amanda). After checking out pics of elote ravioli on yelp, I knew what I would order. I considered adding the grilled watermelon salad, I'll save that for next time! The elote ravioli's presentation was beautiful!! Check out the flowers and the garnishes in the pic. The flavors were a delightful mix of spice and richness (not too much of either IMO). Amanda made a great traditional margarita for my mom (sweet price at $10). Wine by glass and bottles are priced well. Dessert was interesting; we ordered the smoked bread pudding. It usually sells out quickly, so glad we got to try it. I am unsure if I would order that one again (especially bc I want to try the other ones), but it was really interesting and made me think of smoking foods differently.

We received a friendly welcome upon arrival, were attended quickly and our food was delicious. During the holidays, my mom was visiting from San Antonio. Before she left, I took her to P.G. for her first time. Because she is an excellent cook, she is very particular about her food. She thoroughly enjoyed her delicious breakfast and hot coffee at Pelican Grill. When mom is happy, I am happy! We now live in Seabrook and are thankful to have this family friendly, unpretentious and cozy little place conveniently located near our home.

That's what happens when you start your table chat before you look at the menu! I ordered the spicy wings and waffle with a side of eggs. The wings were close to being fried too much but they took them out right before they got dry. My friend has to send hers back to remake the chicken because her wings were dry. The waitress didn't have any problem with remaking her order. I really like the sauce that went with the chicken it was sweet and savory! The waffle I asked for crisp outside and fluffy inside and they made it perfectly. Me and my friend stayed talking for a while after we ate and no one came to try and rush us off the table. The staff still came by often to refill our coffee and water. We appreciated that because we had a lot to catch up on. I really enjoyed it here and will come again.
