I don't ever write poor reviews typically understand sometimes people are having a bad night, especially has a restaurant manager on the Las Vegas strip for years now. Came to town to celebrate my sister graduating Basic Training for the Air Force, and as an entire Air Force family (veteran myself, father and brother also currently active duty), we wanted to celebrate with family and spend time with my new airman sister. Our server, Edward was not directly rude, but was short & cold in his demeanor when we came to dine in tonight upon his greeting of our table. No introduction of who he was or how things run (though he wore a name tag, and I avoided making a twilight reference based on his look alone). When we asked questions he was very intentionally uninterested in displaying true hospitality, but rather straight service you'd find in the likes of McDonalds. Very get to the point so I can stop talking to you. Our family loves Bubba Gump based on the service we've received at the Santa Monica Pier as well as the location we've visited multiple times in Las Vegas. San Antonio's River Walk location fell severely short. We ordered our drinks and they arrived, then ordered queso dip and that arrived in a timely manner. As we placed our order of entree's for a group of 7 (5 actually dining, and 2 just having NA beverages) we requested a refill of a single Diet Coke and pitcher of water. We waited 10 minutes in a very quiet busy running with what looked like 3 servers, a some support staff, a bartender and maybe a couple managers, I counted 7 sat tables and 2 patrons at the bar. During that time, our party noticed the attention the tables around us were getting, and we saw it as unfortunate compared to the lack of service we were receiving as the rest of the server staff was smiling, laughing and consistently checking on their tables. Upon the realization after 15 minutes of waiting for a refill that our server would likely not be improving in his hospitality or basic service, I approached the host and requested a new server. She was kind, happy to help even. She spoke what gentleman in a black Landry's polo and glasses almost immediately, which I appreciated. I noticed he pulled Edward to the back, but we after waiting another 5 minutes for a new server, even with our "Stop Forrest Stop" sign visible on our table, we did not receive any further service. My family decided in frustration to leave. I approached the hostess and requested to close out, so she grabbed our server. He needed a supervisor to allow him to finish closing us out, so I waited for her arrival. She closed my $30 tab for queso dip & a few soft drinks, but there was no attempt from her or the manager on duty to inquire why, or even to say "sorry for your experience, at least let me cover the drinks." I know I'm not going to Hell's Kitchen or STK, but I have been to to other locations, and as someone who's career is food & beverage/hospitality, the clear lack of steps of service was just could not go unnoticed. I'm happy to reach out to a manager if I get a response here, especially as someone who has been to other LANDRY branded venues, to include Bubba Gump at Miracle Mile in Vegas. read more

The ambiance is very upbeat! I was greeted and seated promptly. I cannot remember the name of my server, but she was phenomenal! I placed an order for a fried chicken sandwich, and popcorn shrimp as my appetizer. The popcorn shrimp were nice and sweet with a slight spice kick! The fried chicken sandwich was so comforting! A healthy and juicy seasoned fried chicken breast, topped with bacon and melted cheese! The fries were also crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! I really enjoyed eating here! This was the place one of the people I was celebrating a Fiesta event wanted to go after the event ended. It was my first visit. The tables have license plates on them saying "run Forrest run" or "stop Forrest stop" to determine if you need your server to stop by your table or not. Always a good meal eating at Bubba Gump's. This location is located downtown on the river walk. There's parking near the restaurant, but there's a price because of its downtown location. We made a reservation and were sat immediately. The restaurant wasn't super busy, but I did notice it took a while for things like drinks and extra condiments/sauces to come out when ordered. Our waitress was okay, again can't note spectacular service as it took her a while to get us things or even check on us during our visit. The food was delicious as always. The Mahi Mahi is good as are the coconut shrimp and sampler appetizer. The redfish is tasty as well. Going downtown isn't always the most convenient or quickest way to grab a bite to eat, but knowing this is the only location in the city, makes you want to make the trip. read more

Dans Pomegranate Punch (don't be like us and forget the glass, you can keep it) and Benjamin Buford's Blue Hawaiian. Both drinks were good and sweet. For entrees we ordered the Shrimp Scampi and Lt. Dan's Surf and Turf. The shrimp scampi was great, it had a nice balance of creaminess and tartness from the lemon. I finished my whole plate. You could tell that all of the servers were slammed. My husband and I have been to other Bubba Gump locations so we had high expectations for this location as well. However, we found our experience to be just okay. I'm not sure if they still do this but in the past, the servers would ask trivia questions during your meal.
