I appreciate small business owners who truly care about their business and are always trying to better their establishment. Bubba and Shelly are always switching up their food specials, always bringing in new bands and every time I come here they've either remodeled or improved the bar in some way. The owners as well as the staff truly embody that small business comradery that tends to garner and satisfy a steady regular crowd. A lot of familiar faces every time I walk into Bubbas. Honestly Bubbas is the best place in town to grab a bite and that's not a lie. I believe that Bubba's is still all ages until a certain hour of the night when the 21 and up bar establishment rules kick in, but to be completely brutally true it definitely feels like a bar setting. As long as you can get past the element that you're eating at a bar/pub and not a full service fancy restaurant then I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else but Bubba's. The burgers are great and the specials are ultimately the reason why I rate their food so high. The outside fire pit is nice, but the beer garden definitely does feel a little cut off from the inside. They still have the best place to play darts in town with darts having their own little dedicated room. I'm pretty sure the liquor prices are the lowest in town -- that's definitely an important piece of information that I should share. Bubba's supports so many community functions as well as active police, firefights and military personnel. It's great to see that level of involvement from a small business. Stopped in to grab some food and a couple drinks. Got a few rum and cokes which were fine. I mean how bad can you mess that up. Some regular daytime "drunks" were milling around it looked like. Not that I do not expect this from a "dive bar". Anyways I decided to get a burger. Went for the blue cheese burger. Got it to go because I was done with the atmosphere of this place. But have always heard they have great food. Anyways upon paying using my debit card (who has cash) I noticed they charge a merchant fee of 75 cents! You've got to be joking me!!! Its a bar, don't you need some write-offs? And it does not cost 75 cents to run the card in merchant fees. So they are making money on that! I've worked at a bar (long ago) and know what the markup on booze is! This just seemed so tacky to me. Could not believe it. That right there is a deal breaker and I would not patronize the business again. But, wait I also see another fee....50 cents for getting it "to-go". OMFG. This is just plain a slap in the face. Not only did I sit in there and get 3 drinks then I get charged a to-go charge!!! Not evening going to get into further detail on this. However, this alone would get me not to eat there or drink there. Got to my next destination up the road to a little park, and pulled over to eat my burger. I'd give the burger 1 star as well. The meat fell apart just basically crumbled. It had some gristle and weird fat on it like the grill has not been cleaned for some time. And to top it off it had a hair not on the burger but connected in the meat. Hey, maybe that is how they were planning on keeping the meat together.....?! read more

Ok so went here tonight. Boyfriend raved about how great the food was...ya he was grossly disappointed too. I started with the gizzards.. batter was fried to a chalky burnt taste. He ordered the chicken fried steak. ..burnt and wayyyyyy overcooked. My philly was greasy and so overstuffed with barely cooked onions...just grose. Kids chicken strip dinner... you could bounce the chicken off the table it was that overcooked. Now the fries. GREASY, SOGGY AND JUST PLAIN GROSE. Stopped by with a party of 12 and no reservation at lunch. Bubba's Roadhouse handled us in stride and presented a noteworthy lunch at a quick pace. Never seen a Denny's like this. Dropped in with a party of eight on a Friday night. Service was quick and friendly while we watched the BBQ cook several different kinds of meat. Menu was extensive and substitutions were welcomed. Prices were moderate and Baba had some great stories. Great bar and great food, unusual. read more

It's a cool place to go to if you are local like me but I'm a pescatarian, it's hard to order food here with very little options. Stopped here with friends after hiking today at Lake Valhalla, had seen the "Eat Big Food" sign numerous times before, so we were curious. Huge portions, I got the tuna melt, my friends got the spicy chicken sandwich, fried chicken wrap, and bacon cheeseburger. We were all very happy with the price and portions. I really liked the 1930s red race car out front so we decided to "eat big." The clam chowder was decent but the steamer clams, although numerous, were tiny. Service was exceedingly friendly and the place is a true American classic with its humor, artwork, the bathrooms, country music, and pool table. Pretty reasonable for greasy pub food. The WTF burger is huge, meatloaf looked like a solid choice, fish and chips were standard and the nachos a letdown. They did however come with good service and reasonable prices. They also had a decent selection of beer on tap. read more

I stopped in while driving thru and had the bacon blue burger. What an awesome burger! The meat was thick, the bun soft and the toppings fresh. If looking for a good bite to eat and a drink to go along than this is one of the better stops of the area. read more

We love this place. The bartender's margarita is delicious, they have a great selection of beer on tap, and their hand-cut french fries are out-of-this-world delicious. And the portions? Humongous. This and the Sultan Bakery are my favorite places to eat at because of the food quality. The BBQ here is some of the best I've ever eaten in years. The pulled pork is my favorite. I've had several additional dishes and have yet to be disappointed. The only reason they are missing a star is because I was entertaining a couple of friends (back in early 2013) on a Saturday night while karaoke was going on and the DJ was complaining during every song request because he's heard the same song tons of times. He then criticized my friends wife's' tattoo from her stint in the Army. He didn't serve but was ready to put down those who did. What a douche. I haven't been back to sing since. Had breakfast here yesterday, clean place ..the food was average. Went there with a friend. He ordered fish & chips with a salad, I ordered rib-eye steak with soup. My soup was good, and he said his salad was fine. Then things started going downhill really fast. My steak was tough and had very little flavor. The mashed potatoes weren't very warm, and the veggies were rubbery. My friend said that his fish wasn't very good, and neither were the fries. I tried a few of the fries. They were soggy, and not warm at all. We had to ask for our beverages to be refilled. We never did figure out who our server was. One person took our order, another one brought the food, and a third person brought the check. The total bill was just over 50 dollars. We could have had much better food and service at Denny's for about 10 or 15 dollars less. read more

This place was actually super good! The portions were large AF. My friend and I were starving after our hike and we ordered a lot of food. The service was also really great! My friend made the comment that it felt like we were at a motorcycle bar, but this place is definitely a nice family restaurant.
