Pizza and burgers are delicious! I wouldn't recommend a salad but of course why would you eat one here! My only complaint is that our child's meal was not brought out with other food and we weren't told as to what happened. Our little one was not happy, It eventually came and she enjoyed it. read more

This reviews is solely on the service. The behavior from their greeters/waitress was absolutely DISGUSTING! As a single mother with three boys I REFUSE to let my hard earned money pay for their checks! I was at this establishment at 3:45 pm on a Saturday 2/3/17 to pick up a order. I walked in only to have some greeters/waitress look at me up and down which I let go. Paid for my food but because it was not ready had to sit on a bench to wait. I let that go as well. As I sat waiting for the food I began to notice the greeters/waitress would look at everybody up and down and make comments amongst themselves, so it wasn't just me which again I thought wow okay I don't know who does the hiring there but they really should put them in another area. Once again I let this go until a little girl ranging from the age of 10-12 with a disability walked in with her parents. There was about 4-5 up in the front area at the time. The girls began glancing at each other as to see who wanted to service them. Finally a girl walked them to a table while the girls that were standing at the service station began making funny and laughing. I immediately felt disgusted and furious with the behavior I was witnessing. As a mother I would have easily caught a case if somebody were making funny of my child especially one with a disability! I just couldn't keep my mouth shut. The only waitress that helped me with my order was very polite. I asked where the manager was only to find out they were directly across for their staff. I walked up and the training manager is the one that asked me if I needed anything. I told her I was about to address her staff if she'd like to come and watch. She looked a little confused but walked over anyway. I stood there with a shaky voice because I was so angry at this point. I told all the girls they should humble themselves because the people that walk in there no matter what they look like are the reason their establishment is busy enough that they all have jobs! WE PAY their checks and I was disgusted by their behavior. At that point the training manager asked me to move to the side because she would be the one to talk to them. I told her everything I saw and how I would not take my business there anymore. I also told here I would post up wherever I could to get this out there. I refuse to fund this kind of disgusting behavior. I would be embarrassed to know one of my kids acted like any one of those girls. If you choose to go to that establishment that's up to you but I felt as paying customers everybody had to know what your money will be funding. I had been wanting to try Bubba's 33 for awhile and I finally got to try it last month with a friend of mine. I was looking forward to everything that people had been raving about. I first called to reserve a spot that way I didn't have to wait when I got there. In less than ten minutes we finally got to our table. Our waitress was very friendly, helpful, and patient. I ordered the California chicken with pico de gallo on top with fries and a salad. What I didn't like was the fact the food took forever, I understand that on weekends it gets packed but there shouldn't be any reason to bring the food out on time. The food was tasteful, the house salad was pretty big, the pico have the chicken some flavor and the fries were ample. The restaurant has a family friendly atmosphere showing sports on multiple tv screens as well as music on other screens. They also display different nostalgia of the past. If you are not a fan of restaurants that get loud, then this place is not for you. A huge family came to the restaurant late at night to celebrate a child's birthday. They got really loud and obnoxious and by that time, I was ready to leave. I also tried the drinks that were served beautifully. I ordered the blue ocean Long Island iced tea with a frozen strawberry ice cube. It was pretty good but not as strong as I would've liked it to be. I probably wouldn't return but I'm willing to give their pizza or burger a try. read more

This may have even been Five Stars if not for the staff. The server, I believe the name was Darius, seemed to not enjoy his job one bit. There is definitely a toxic element at this location because the looks on the faces of the rest of the staff was not much better. Aside from the obvious poor attitude from almost all the staff encountered, the food itself was very good, no complaints concerning the back of the house. I'll try this place again at some point, but no anytime soon. read more

This place is definitely over rated. Ordered the bacon guac burger medium with mayo on the side cut in half so Honey and I could share. Server literally dropped the plate on the table and left without asking us how it was. Burger was cut in half. It would have Been nice if she had brought an extra plate. The place was half full and she didn't have many tables. Burger was well done. No where close to medium. I would have told her she forgot the mayo but she didn't stay long enough. I've been going to this place since it opened and have never had any problems until Friday night. Drea (Andrea) the manager on duty was very exaggerating and pretty much chased me to my car.. while waiting on my husband I was backing up to drive up to the entrance (closer for him. He just had knee surgery) she assumed I was intoxicated and threatened to call police. Had two margaritas and we are pretty much regular customers there.. I also work in the restaurant business and that is not the way you handle a situation like she did.. as a loyal customer we returned last night to visit with the poor bartender who was questioned and probably got in trouble. Two margaritas shouldn't be a cut off.. our daughter was with us and so was the rest of our friends and family. They had way more to drink and yet I'm the one who got chased down. I liked the place. There are a lot of TV's to watch sports not a bad angle wherever you sit. They have a big menu for food. I ordered the 12" pizza. It was great except that I like the crust thick. Turns out they only serve thin crust. But, the pizza was good. Seems like the sauce has some chili in it. First time for me but it was not hot. Plenty of choices for alcohol. Super busy on a Friday night...Understandable...Our wait time just kept getting longer each time we would ask & it ended up being a two hour wait. Not happy about that. Food was ok. They offered free appetizers for our party of 20 to make up for the wait time but then only brought out 1 appetizer!! My cousin had to ask them if that was all they were going to offer us, so after talking to someone in the back/front/manager, they brought out more. Service could be a lot better, especially when taking down information on the # of people in your party. It was written down incorrectly so we barely fit at the table where they seated us. Ok I KNEW I had to try this place bec of the reviews and bbbbbbaaaaaabbbyyyyyy Bubbas did NOT disappoint. Let me start from the beginning..... it's a little difficult to get in bec of the construction going on BUT it was worth it. I ordered to go... Dani greeted me and my son and explained she does the to go orders. ALWAYS wore a smile... VERY sweet and thorough with the menu! ( I like that) she helped me order being this was my first time and didn't put ANYTHING in the computer until I finished my order. I was worried she would forget lol BUT no she remembered in GREAT detail my order of 3 burgers with some of the condiments being put on the side for 1 of the burgers to the lettuce wedge I ordered she explained she was giving me extra sauce just in case and (I LOVED THAT) she continued to smile and made me feel WELCOME to come back as I promised I will again. When I got home the burgers were GREAT... I don't know what's in that bubba sauce but mannnnnn it's GOOD STUFF order it!!! Racism? I came to San Antonio for military training. Visit 1: I stopped by for an early dinner at the an empty bar and was very please with the dining experience. Visit 2: I mentioned it to some class mates and we stopped by for dinner on a week night and the service at the empty bar was great. Visit 3: A class mate and I decided to go back again on 22 June. We ordered 2 beers and they came quick. After waiting 30 minutes (bar was close to full not packed) we had to ask to order food. I noticed other patrons were getting orders taken and food delivered. One of our orders came out as a veggie burger when he ordered a black and blue burger. Simple mistake no problem. 5+ minutes after finishing my beer and setting it on the drip mat, one bar tender took my glass w/out asking if I wanted another although the guy next to me got his next drink right away. 10 minutes later I get offered another beer. I started to realize that we were the only white people at the bar. I hate to think that our race had anything to do with it but the circumstances were clear. I hope this was an isolated incident. The food was amazing, but I do not plan to return due to this experience. I feel the two bar tenders need to be retrained or let go. read more

I would give 0 stars if that was an option. My friends and I attempted to celebrate a birthday party at this location and were very displeased with our service. Our server did not know the specials, failed to take our order, and then gave one of our guest issues regarding his order of an adult beverage after she brought it to the table. At this point the drink served no purpose being at the table. Then after asking kindly if they could place the Birthday cake in the back we were denied because "that's not something they do". The main issue arose when shortly after our request, another waiter brought out a cake from the back for another table. After seeing this we again asked our waitress if she could place our cake in the back and she insisted she would have to ask. About 5 minutes later the "service manager" Claudia came out and began to explain to us that the reason an exception was made was because the cake for an employee that was there with his family. After hearing this it became very apparent that we would not be given the same service and after attempting To explain to the manager that we were unsatisfied with our service she proceeded with arguing with us about the adult beverage again as means of justification for making an exception for someone else? As this was our first time at this establishment, all of ours guest were very upset and we were forced to cancel our order and leave at which point the waitress refused to split our bill. The service and everything could've been easily handled but instead everything escalated way out of hand and instead of enjoying our friends birthday we were forced to leave the establishment and attempt to make the best of a crappy experience. read more

First time at Bubba's 33 was a bad experience. Poor customer service because the guy bartender was rude. We went last night on Saturday and we got the $4 Bubba long island ice tea. I was watching them make several of these drinks (we were eating at the bar)and it looks like they only put two shots of vodka in them. It tasted like lemonade, we were very disappointed. For our appetizer we ordered fried pickles. The breading on them left an awful taste in our mouth. We ordered the sunrise burger and the bacon guacamole burger. The patty's were flavorless and the toppings weren't that good. Very disappointing because they have good reviews. read more

Very Disappointed with today's service. As a Bubba's 33 fan, I was looking forward to lunch today. As my family and I were sat at our table, our server quickly greeted us and asked for our drink order. However, once she heard water three times in a row... her tone changed. She dropped off our drinks and began service on another table, on her way back took our order and left. The cook time took forever... for three sandwiches and fries. She didn't come by to check on refills, let us know the progress of our meals, but was great at the service her now three other tables were getting. On her way back from one of those tables she stopped to tell us our food was next in the window and would be out shortly. Two of the aforementioned tables had received their meals, drinks, and refills. Seconds after her comment, the food arrived along with our check! She quickly cleared our table as soon as she noticed we were done and ASKED if we were ready to pay the check, almost rushing us out the door. I asked for a refill, sensing her disgust, I apologized. When it arrived we gave her cash but we're planning to leave her tip at the table... she looked at what was given, looked at us, and said rather shocked "um, did you want change?" It was evident she wanted us gone. I quickly drank my water, apologized for coming in and walked out. Upon walking out, a manager and Host were at the hostess station. I grabbed a tooth pick waiting for a "Thank you"..... Nothing. Hospitality was definitely no ones strong suit. Too bad. read more

never been here before, came in today for some afternoon drinking and food. the margaritas were pretty damn good. i was a lil grumpy bc of how hungry i was, so i wish the greeting process was faster to get an appetizer, but that could've just been my impatience. after we ordered and after a while, the bartender came and explained how they rang up the order, but someone exit the screen so it didn't go. so by that time, it was barely sent back. i was okay, i get it, and i wasn't in a rush. they said they'd take care of a drink of mine for the wait (they didn't, it's fine i don't expect free stuff.) but when the food came out, my boyfriends burger and fries were cold and stale, they took it back and made a fresh plate and they took care of that. food and drinks were very much good. and overall, i'd like to thank our bartender, i didn't catch his name, beard and glasses. he was nice, attentive, and apologetic for the inconvenience. sometimes you just get those experiences where things don't go smoothly, that ended up being us today. i left happy and i'll be back again and i know it'll be better. read more

Bubba's 33 was a great! My kids love watching all the tv's and looking at all the decor. They especially love the car couches in the foyer, the food is awesome, the drinks are great and the prices aren't too terrible for a single income family of 6. The wait time for staff to acknowledge or refill or even return to check and see how we're doing can be better and a little more efficient. But overall I do like this restaurant. read more

This was our first time at Bubbas 33, they quoted us a 15-20 minute wait to be seated but we were seated within the first 10 minutes. Veronica was our server and to say the least she was below mediocre. Had it not been for the poor service I'm sure we would've enjoyed our experience much more. Our drinks took long to come and when she brought us refills she brought us the wrong beverages. She took our order for an appetizer and didn't come back for another 10 minutes to take our order for dinner. Brought out appetizer and never brought silverware. I visited here with my family on 8/1 wanting some comfort food. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and a pina colada. Waitstaff was good but the burger tasted off due to the sweetness of the bun. I asked for no onions and it had onions. My sister in laws margarita had such a sour taste to it she didn't even finish. Fries were tasty but that's all I can say was good. Don't think I'll be going back because I love burgers but just not theirs! read more

First and last time at this place! Was really excited to check this place out for the All Star games with friends. Arrived early evening for a large table since there was a large group of us. It took 2 hrs. The restaurant itself is very loud. Music or sports constantly being played. You have to almost yell to talk over all the noise. Not a problem since we are here for the sports. However, management has issues with loud patrons. Not good. "People we're complaining about us being loud" is what we were told; but you just had to tell us in a loud voice to relay that complaint???!?...From what I've been reading on the reviews, mgmt has some issues. From my experience, NO ONE was paying attention to us to complain. AND on top of that my sister found a hair in her burger and we had to constantly flag down or hunt down our waitress for food/drinks. Never going back again. First time at Bubba's this past weekend. I was out running errands and got hungry so I decided to finally give it a try not having any expectations at all. My husband and I shared some cheese dip as an appetizer which was pretty good. It was sort of difficult to eat though as the top layer of hard cheese covered almost everything underneath. My husband ordered a burger and fries which was decent. Most people do tend to overcook burgers now. I ordered wings and a salad and thoroughly enjoyed both. Service was great and the people next to us ordered a pizza that looked awesome so we will definitely be back to try it. Their drink menu is also pretty intriguing! I also like that they're in the Texas Roadhouse family so a gift card for them will work for both places. read more

I used to live in Amarillo, Tx and worked at the Bubba's 33 there when it first opened. I was apart of the huge opening with all the big corporate people there and I LOVED the food & management & employees at that location. I was thrilled to see it was here as well when I moved to SA, but VERY disappointed in this location. The food was really awful and I'm never one to say anything, so we just asked for our ticket to get out of there quickly. The hostess were EXTREMELY rude and were trying to pick a fight with my little sister saying stuff under their breath like "why did she come in here looking at me like that" "I will drag a b****" and that was TOTALLY uncalled for, but of course my sister didn't want to cause a scene and asked me to leave it alone. I ordered the Italian margarita pizza, which had NO cheese, I asked to add chorizo to it, none was added but I was definitely charged more for it. We ordered fried pickles which were pretty tasty, and my sister ordered the shotgun shrimp, she ate ONE and told me something was off about the taste. I picked one up to smell it and it was definitely old and smelled so foul. We did tell our waitress in hopes she could tell someone in the kitchen to prevent it from getting anyone sick, we did not ask for any sort of refund or meal replacement and our waitress replies with "so what do you want like your money or something? Because my manager isn't here to do that." I will NEVER return here. read more
