da smoker out front

Well I dropped a group at the amphitheater to see Chicago, looked sold out to me. I'll park off property and get some dinner. I've been by Bad Bubbas and tonight it's Yelp night. I parked out front on the street, my sprinter is long so... It looked like the dinner rush had settled down, good. Wow the menu is pretty good quite a few choices, combo's, and ala carte'. My first impression was this is not cheep bbq. Now I get it, food costs have sky rocketed especially after you add labor and overhead to the meal. I shop baby back ribs and they run about 7 bucks a pound. I'll wait till they go down as a loss leader and stock my freezer. I say this because it was $20 for four bb rib bones, or $5 a bone Ah...at my rib restaurant in Irvine CA in 1982 sold bb ribs at a 12 bone rack dinner for $10. Now they slow smoke bbq here and thats the real deal BBQ. So if thats your thing this the place for dinner. I ordered the Cobb Salad at $20, smoked chicken and a good portion of bacon. They served my salad in a tin pie pan, probably 8" and certainly not heaping high either. A shallow presentation is skimpy on the greens, Okay. The taste was great and every thing salad wise was real fresh the chunks of chicken small but served hot. The quality is certainly here and I enjoyed my salad but it wasn't a meal for me. The service was order, pay, and pick up and quite friendly...I'm not sure if I'll be back, I just don't see the value for the authentic bbq taste at big city prices. Thanks Bubba foodguy-martin

Really good dining experience. The jail cells are a fun way to have dinner. My kids got a kick out of being "locked up." The food was good, but the prices are high. The location internally is on good condition, but the bridge is in need of repairs.

A forder of onion rings (I got 4, & it's a full order a forder)

What a waste of time and money. The good was absolutely terrible. It was obvious just looking at the food they cooked us. The smash burger should have been called The Hit by a truck burger. The order of onion rings should have been called the Onion Rings called The No More Than Four Rings. That's how many I got. Another person ordered the TriTip. He reported it to be dry and not very good. His onion rings order was also 4. My other friend had chicken. I found It in the back of my refrigerator the next day uneaten . Need I say I won't be back,?

You asked for a mediocre review, Bubba's Smokehouse in Paso Robles is... fine. If you're in the mood for barbecue and you're in the area, it's an option. The pulled pork was reasonably tender, and the brisket wasn't offensively dry, though it also didn't exactly melt in your mouth. Their sauces are there, doing what sauces do, adding a bit of flavor if you're so inclined. The sides - mac and cheese, coleslaw - were pretty standard. Nothing to write home about, but they filled a space on the plate. Service was efficient enough, got our food without too much fuss. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a casual barbecue joint. It's not going to blow your mind, but it'll probably satisfy a basic craving for smoked meat without any real surprises, good or bad. It's just Bubba's.

Tri-tip sandwich (no onions) with small side mac and cheese. Left no crumbs

Food, service and ambiance were great! We travel past Paso often and we've been here many times. The food and service never disappoints. We came by today and liked the new look and process. No waiters/waitress, order your food, sit wherever and full bar. I had two margaritas today made with Patron and the Latina who made it was pleasant and very professional.

Side of Fries

Ordered a smash burger with a side of fries. I guess the fries aren't included with the meal. 5 dollars side of fries right here. Should've done the combo plate smh

If I could leave a half a star, As a first time customer, it would be what this place is..First: the half star is that the facility looks great. No Stars: The lady at the register is so freaking rude and has no clue how to treat customers, Simple question was asked or preferred by me, "I preferred the (point-fatty) part of the brisket for my sandwich, and she looked at me like what, we cut the brisket as it comes we don't just give that, I explained ma'am there's two sides to a brisket (flat/point) one is lean the other is fatty, she went on to interrupt me a say No we don't do it that way, we just cut what's next, I was like Huh?!, so I don't have a choice of which side I want, she said No!, with attitude, you get what we give you!... my response was " what the!!".. so I tried to explain to her or get clarity of how they just do that, but nope, she just walked away from me with that attitude of I do t need to tell you, ..... serious, this person is horrible, and no kind of customer service relationship, wow, She Needs Jesus!

I grew up having big bubbas. We came a few years ago and it was not good but we decided to give it another shot as it seemed they maybe rebranded? We got a pulled pork sandwich, a smash burger, a 10" pizza, 3 fries and it was $83. My husband went to get mustard at the little condiments station and the bottle was empty he asked someone for more and they pointed over to the condiments station we just checked at. My husband told him it was empty. The worker came back with mustard and it was completely watered down while they have brand new things of mustard to refill the bottles with. Instead of refilling it they added water to it. It's not like they were busy we were literally the only people eating in there. The burger was clearly a pre made patty with no flavor whatsoever and tiny for $13. Genuinely mad and wish so badly I had my $83 back.

$32.27+tax SERVICE CHARGE when there was NO SERVICE.

Their food was extremely disappointing! Too salty and pretty expensive for just average BBQ.

So, normally I avoid BBQ spots like the plague! Reason being (I'm sure we know why) but most are…read morenot that good. Dry, overcooked, horribly seasoned & so on. But! Not the case here. Let's start by saying, very friendly owners. Was greeted with a big smile & a friendly "hi, how are you". Very welcoming. Son (assuming) was working the front counter, who is also very friendly & accommodating. Reminds of the type people you would like to have as neighbors. Alright, let's get to the food! Going to keep this short & sweet (which I like doing, being that's what most really want to know). The Pulled Chicken Sandwich is great! It's juicy, not over seasoned, mix of thigh & breast, topped with their BBQ sauce & coleslaw! What more do you want? Exactly, nothing! Perfect just the way it is. Nothing over the top, nor gimmicky. I truly like this pulled chicken sandwich! The Fried Raviolis are also good, nice app to add. Looking forward to trying their Tri-Tip sandwich, hopefully it's as good! All in all: Very friendly service, great food, small menu, comfortable ambiance. Will definitely become among my favorite places here in Morro Bay.

To set the stage, we tried this place on a Sunday night when a bird watching group was in town. I…read morecan't say for sure that they were involved in this situation, but the store was completely sold out of chicken. Maybe all that bird watching worked up an appetite for bird. We read reviews. We looked at the menu online, then we walked from our hotel to the restaurant, planning to order a tri tip sandwich and chicken nachos, which were advertised as having either fried chicken or pulled chicken options. When we arrived, we were informed that they were out of both pulled chicken and tri tip. Not to fear, I told the clerk that we would have he nachos with friend chicken. Alas, they don't sell fried chicken anymore. I asked her what proteins they DID have. Ribs and pork loin, deli sliced were the only options. I asked if the nachos could be made with pork. They could. We ordered that and ribs. First, the good: the homemade potato chips are excellent. The BBQ sauce isn't bad. Now that we are done with that, down to the reality of the situation. I should have known better. We had been staying in a hotel not a hundred yards away for two days and hadn't smelled any smoke or BBQ. When we got back to our hotel room, we opened the boxes. Plating was attractive. The chips are good. A small side note. There is a gas station near my parents' house (North Fork Minit Mart if you are ever interested in visiting the geographic center of California) that purchases pre-seasoned ribs from Costco and cooks them in a crock pot full of sauce. If you like the ribs at this place, you will LOVE those ones. There was no smoke, no smoke ring, no evidence of BBQ at all. The name of the place is "savory smoke"... but the food is neither savory nor smokey. Thr ribs were tough, flavorless and stringy. Even a little salt would have helped. The rub was strale and "muddy". I'm not one who wants ribs to actually fall off the bone, but these you couldn't even get off the bone. The chips were good. The "nachos" were the chips (which are good), covered in canned cheese, flavorless baked pork loin in this case and onions. The onions and the chips stole the show. The chips are good. Incidentally, there is a bar next door that seemed steadily busy. My recommendation is that "savory smoke" give up the facade that they are in any way a BBQ join, because they simply aren't, knock down the wall to let the bar expand, and simply make chips for the bar patrons. The meat was trash. Thr chips were good. This place should be ashamed of itself.

Best BBQ in SLO north county! I just discovered Gregory's and had a very nice visit with the chef…read more I recently returned from 3 weeks in Texas eating BBQ all around the state. (Texas knows bbq!) And Chef Gregory's is right up there. If you miss good southern or mid-western smoked BBQ stop in and give Gregory's a try. Not only does he do the California favorite of tri-tip (very smokey and very tender!) he also smokes brisket, both pork and beef ribs, and pork belly. The pork belly sweet chili sauce is fantastic! The cole slaw is unique, tangy and tasty. There is a core menu of items available daily. Off the pit is: Tri-tip Wednesday, brisket Thursday, beef ribs Friday and spare ribs on Saturday. But you can call and ask for any of those special day items to be saved for you to pick up on another day if you can't get there. What a great idea. Gregory was very welcoming and willing to discuss menu items and sauce ingredients. I am Celiac, so I needed to know whether any sauces had gluten. Happily most do not. I am now a huge fan and will be back often!

Tri-tip - so tender with great flavor. Baby back ribs - deep flavor, tender, and beautiful smoke ring. Ribs came with sauce on the side but I thought they didn't need sauce. Pork belly was tender. Had never had pork belly smoked before but glad we tried a sampling. Only thing I was missing was a slice of white bread. Chef Gregory also shared a sample of the Mac and cheese. He has his own spice blends, and bbq sauce too I believe. You can buy them there as well. Both he and his lady were so friendly to chat with. I wish them all the success, and with food this good, they can't miss!

3.5 stars. Best advice from fellow Yelpers, call ahead to…read moreplace your order! We arrived at 3pm and there's a line. So I guess they don't operate like normal restaurant hours, better to assume that they are busy all the time. When I called, they asked how soon I'll be here as they have a line. I told them I'm 20 minutes away and when I arrived food was ready. Upon arrival, I just needed to go to the cashier line and pay. So that was nice. The call quality could vary, so I'd advice to keep your order simple and familiarize yourself with their menu. They were in their own building, right next to the Shell gas station. You can eat outside as there's no seating inside. There's a big TV outside. It can be super hot and stuffy eating outside in summer, despite the fact that they have fans and cold mists. We were roasted in there sweating and watching FIFA game while eating. The restroom has AC and is clean and comfortable. We ordered half a pound of brisket main and a pulled pork sandwich. I asked to put all the sauces aside. The Pulled Pork Sandwich looks like a burger as it comes with burger bread but it's loaded with a thick layer of pulled pork in the middle. That's it though, no veggie, no other things, just bread and pulled pork. The pulled pork is already soaked in BBQ sauce, so there's nothing more needed to add to it. It tasted slightly spicy from the BBQ sauce, meat is super soft. The brisket was shockingly little, I couldn't believe one slice is half a pound and that's over 18 bucks! A pound is $30. The meat is super soft, one touch and the fibers fall apart. I wish they put more salt on when they BBQ, coz then naturally it'll be flavorful enough and don't need the BBQ sauce. The texture is fatty and softy enough. The mac and cheese is not bad, the cheese sauce is slightly over as the mac were like swimming in them. Overall a nice and quick stop to get some descent quality food. A nice alternative to gas station hot deli.

I…read morebelieve that they have a restaurant on the side but we were on the way to the Bay and were in a rush. They have an order and grab service inside the Shell station. If you're hungry, this place serves better food compared to the fast foods down the street. Food: 4oz Brisket (4.3/10): This one was a little bit better than the sandwich we got. We saw that they put out a new brisket on the cutting block and we were tempted by it. It was super tender but still lacked flavor. We asked for the side of barbecue sauce and it helped with the flavor a little. It lacked a smoky flavor. Santa Maria Tri-Tip Sandwich (5/10): Ordering was pretty easy. There's a menu displayed on the top and they slice the meats right in front of you! Unfortunately, this sandwich fell a little short for me. The bread was drenched in barbecue sauce and there wasn't much flavor in the tri-tip itself.
