Bubble Waffle Cafe is solid and reliable. We all know it's not going to be *AMAZING* but you gotta admit, it gets the job done. Whenever I'm in the area and craving a noodle soup, I'll get either the Laksa or Tom Yum soup base, with rice noodles, beef balls and enoki mushrooms. I went recently in March and decided to step outside of my comfort zone by ordering the beef dry noodle, and the reality of it was pretty true to the expectation --- dry ---. Haha. And flavourless. I'm glad I ordered my tried-and-true soup on the side because, without it, my throat might have been as dry as the Sahara. BUT I'm still glad I gave it a try because now my curiosity is gone! I usually like this place but I found my drink and noodles were bland today. I ordered the fish noodle soup combo, which comes with a drink and bubble waffles (for an extra $2). Fish noodle soup: you get to choose the type of noodle and soup base. I chose instant noodles with preserved veggie fish broth. The broth was salty but bland so I added some spicy oil, which wasn't spicy at all, just oily. Milk tea: their iced milk tea is really good, but today I ordered hot milk tea and it wasn't good at all. It was so watered down with zero milk tea flavour. I like the foodcourt in brentwood. It's clean and the view is pretty. I got the lamb noodle soup from bubble waffle cafw #6 with tom yum soup. For $14.95, I got a lot of meat with quail eggs and egg noodle and also a hot milk tea. It's a great deal. The food is decent and it's also served quickly. The milk tea is pretty good too. read more

This place serves Taiwanese style food, as well as their signature bubble waffles. I've had their food (rice and noodle soup) at their other locations and it's decent. They are located inside Brentwood mall. I came here with a friend for dinner and decided that our main meal was not enough. So we decided to grab something from Bubble Waffle to top our meal off. We got the taiwanese fried chicken to share. The flavor was not bad. It was nice and crispy. Each pieces were on the smaller end. The chicken was somewhat dry. Note that Taiwanese chicken usualy don't come with sauce. I have also noticed the prices are slightly different compared to other locations. I would give a minus star if I can. This morning I had experienced the most racist and disgusting service I have ever had. The server was also an Asian but she gave a different treatment to a Caucasian and shunned her own Asian customers. I was there in the foodcourt around 10 am Wed morning ( lunar new year day). My first time to this food court in Brentwood mall. Before me a young and hip customer tried to order egg waffle and was told not available, another young fellow asked, answer was also no. Then I tried to order and same answer no, I even joked about perhaps still too early ( after 10 am already) so I ordered chicken wings instead. The price on the order sheet was erased so I had no idea how much it costs for three wings. By the time I paid for my coffee and 3 chicken wings, it totalled $13.95 and the wings cost me more than $9. As soon as I paid and walked to the side waiting, a Caucasian guy after me tried to order egg waffle as well but the same server who told me not available , TOOK his order and said it will be ready in ten minutes. I was not 100% sure what I heard so I decided to stay there to see if he really ordered egg waffle and also waited for my order. I waited and waited, sure enough the guy got his egg waffle !!! but my three freaking chicken wings were still not ready!!! I was very upset and confronted the server, why did she offer the egg waffle to the man and not the rest of us. He placed his order just a few seconds after me. Besides he came after the three of us and yet he walked away first with the egg waffle while the rest of us were still waiting for our orders. I challenged the server for being racist and discriminated against her own people. She was visibly upset but speechless. First she had the nerve to ask if I wanted to order egg waffle now. I just asked for the refund for the wings but paid for the coffee which turned out to be lukewarm coz their wings took too long to fry but the coffee had been sitting on the counter the whole time and I had to throw out the coffee. This is the worst experience I have ever had and the server's attitude is absolutely disgusting. read more

Stopped by for a meal at the Brentwood food court before watching a movie at the VIP theatres. We ordered a lamb dry noodle (which came with a drink) and the rice roll dish to share. The dry noodle was standard fare - well portioned and I think they gave us beef instead of lamb but that's fine. It only came with one brocoli so it would've been nice to have more veggies. It came with a drink and we ordered a milk tea - it was super delicious and reminded me of the traditional HK cafes. A bit more expensive than other bubble waffle locations, but delicious laksa soup. Quality of ingredients is all mediocre and the bubble waffle is yummy but also just decent. However the quantity is a lot more with a nice paper bowl compared to other location smaller plastic bowl. Getting a drink and noodles for about $17 is solid. When I went back to the counter to solve the problem and bring up the issue. The person working there told me to call the manger myself using my phone. The manager asked me to send a photo of the item and was arguing the the soup and item was up to standard and it was "factory". For those coming here DO NOT ORDER YOUR FOOD HERE, that is if you want to have a nasty surprise with the soup completely covered in "FACTORY OIL" i highly recommend not ordering your fast food take out here. This is what I get... I had not soup and the second smaller soup in the picture was another one that they gave me and the person at the counter asked me for .25 cents. This is my first time trying Bubble Waffle Cafe since Brentwood Mall's renovations. They were one of the busy food court stalls. They have combos for $13 which included a drink (choice of iced milk tea or lemon tea). Definitely, this stall offers one of the more affordable food court options. I ordered the salty chicken nuggets with rice and lemon tea. A bubble waffle can be added for an extra $2 with purchase of a combo. I was happy with my meal. Nuggets tasted okay. It was crispy but could have had a bit more seasoning. The oil rice was okay. I could not taste much chicken flavour or anything from the oil. The two broccoli florets had a good crunch. I wish there were a couple more florets to balance the meal. The lemon tea tasted as expected. My child really loved the bubble waffle. It was sweet and chewy by the time we got around to eating it. It lost its crispness, but it was a good price. Overall, not the best quality food, but definitely one of the cheaper options for entree and drink combos. read more

The food itself was alright and the prices are fair. Not great but within the standard. What I didn't like was they used all plastic plates, bowls, cups, and cutlery. It gives it a fast food feel even though you're in a restaurant with servers and you just know it's going to go to the garbage adding to the plastic ocean. **Decent food court option at Brentwood Mall** It's really hard to find a suitable option in the Brentwood food court. I find there is too much of the same fast food type of Asian food there. I had high hopes for bubble waffle cafe, and I would say they were half met. It's still a decent option and the better choice in The Brentwood Mall food court. The bubble waffles are crispy and tasty! Comes in different flavours like green tea too. The noodles were disappointing though. I also got the hainanese chicken noodle soup with the laksa soup base. The laksa soup was delicious - the right type of spicy for me (which is probably too spicy for most people) and I loved the coconut milk flavour in it. The rest of the dish were just not that great. The noodles were too soft that they were disintegrating when I tried to pick them up with my chopsticks. The hainanese Chicken was tough and not very flavourful. It was difficult to eat cuz it was overdone I think. I liked that my meal came with a drink and the bubble waffle was just a dollar to add on. Unfortunately, I was kind of disappointed with this Bubble Waffle location. If compared to the one in Aberdeen, the portion size and even drink size that comes with a combo is night and day. There's no other place in the mall that serves bubble waffles though so you're kind of limited. The service was ok, but not great. The other options at Brentwood's food court weren't too great looking, and this looked like the best option. Wait time was relatively fast- total came to around $11. The laksa soup was delicious. Noodles were cooked decently, no complaints. It's really with the fish cake when things begin to fall flat. There was this slight aftertaste to them, like they were semi undercooked. Not inedible, but not really appreciated. The bubble waffle was average, as was the tea. I would probably eat there again if I was in the area. If it wasn't for the fish cake, I would probably give them a 4 star (for food court quality food). They'll have to make do with a 3 though. read more

However, the chicken was soooooo tough and chewy it was not edible. It looked like the bad parts of the chicken which was over cooked and super dry. I had 2 meals here's. I had the Hainan chicken rice with lemon iced tea. The chicken has no flavor, rice has no flavor, ice tea is sweet but with only 1 slice of lemon I can barely taste the lemon. The portion is small. You won't get full on it if you are an adult. The second meal I had was the salt baked chicken. They sure used a lot for salt. I had to eat so much rice with it. It was better then the Hainan chicken because it has flavor..But too much flavor. This time the lemon ice tea again was a dissapointment. Barely 1 sliver slice of lemon. Is lemon that expensive that they can't spare more? For $12.99 for this meal....I can't say it's was justified for the small piece of chicken and rice it came with. $6 maybe.... Second time having lunch at the new food court at the Amazing Brentwood. Yesterday I had a late lunch just before 2:00 pm. Ordered the duck breast combo. They were already sold out of the bubble waffles. Had to wait almost a 1/2 hour before the order came out which was lukewarm. My friends' order of curry beef combo took almost 25 minutes to come out. We had to ask several times what was taking so long. Won't eat here again ,wasted my lunch hour just waiting around for food. I was tempted to try out Bubble Waffle since it seems to be a popular chain for comfort food and I got nothing but disappointment from start to finish. I ordered their Hainanese Chicken on rice which came with a drink. I wanted the Iced Mixed Coffee Milk Tea but was then told, much to my surprise, that it will cost an additional $1.25 which I definitely don't think is worth the ridiculous addition to the price. Settled with the Iced Milk Tea instead, but tried their $2 add-on of bubble waffle. The Hainanese Chicken on rice was nothing like the picture display on their menu board and it's definitely nothing like any Hainanese chicken I had ever eaten. It was literally swimming in a sea of soya sauce that I seriously felt it should have been called Soya Sauce Chicken instead. The bubble waffle was not even freshly made but was cold, hard and crunchy. Iced Milk Tea was probably the only decent part of the meal and that was just mediocre. The worst out of all the Bubble Waffle Cafes. Their Hainanese Chicken Rice is extremely bland, both chicken and rice have no taste. The drink that comes with the meal are smaller size here compare to the other locations. They don't have the mix and match option for their noodles here either. The prices here are also more expensive. One time I wanted to redeem a free bubble waffle with the stamp card and they told me to do it next time since I only need to add an extra $1 to get it as I was ordering a meal. What's the point of accepting the stamp card here if you don't want people to redeem it when they want to? The Richmond locations have much better pricing, selection and food quality. Can't wait to check out the Metrotown location opening soon. Never coming back to this Brentwood location again. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Took 45 minutes to get food the first time I went but tried again as I figured they were new then. After 45 minutes they gave us the wrong dish with no apologies and another 15 minutes to correct it. Second time I got FOOD POISONING and bad diarrhea after having their chicken noodle dish. Not to mention their poor customer service and rude attitude for getting the order wrong. Today, my child was wanting their ice tea so I relented. I figured you can't get the runs from tea. Well I had to rush off to attend to my child so I asked how long it might take for the tea so I can come back. She snaps at me and says "can't you see I'm making it now".
