Drove to Canada from Washington with my boyfriend. We decided to stay in Burnaby to shop at the Metropolis mall. We were actually just walking around to see what stores and shops were around and saw that this place was pretty packed. It was pretty cold that day, so we decided to get a warm drink. We got a Hot Honey Milk Green Tea. I have to say, that is the best hot boba tea I have ever gotten. The pearls were cooked to perfection and the drink was just right. We went here again one last time before we left and went back to Washington, but this time we decided to dine in. My boyfriend ordered their calamari, and I ordered some Spicy Tofu Soup (not sure if that is the correct name). The spicy tofu was so goooooooood. The calamari was okay. The drinks we ordered were Honey Green Tea with Boba, no milk. The drink was perfect as well. What else surprised us was the cup it came in. I've never had boba tea in a big mug like that before. Best chicken nuggets ever made, they have a killer strawberry slush. Everything else on their bubble tea list isn't so good. Pearls were okay, usually inconsistent but strawberry slush has been the same as it has 5 years ago. I'm giving a 3 due to lack of customer service, washroom was very dirty, and messed up my order twice. I still highly recommend eating here. They offer cheap food and is almost no different then the ones served in Taiwan. Totally did not expect this place to be a restaurant! The name makes it sound like a cafe, haha. They have a large variety of food in their menu, from calamari, dumplings, udon, to bubble tea. Their prices are reasonable, but their portions are pretty small. I ordered the calamari and there were only 10 small rings. I also ordered an aloe vera green tea with aloe bits and it came in this mug, which I felt was much less than your average bubble tea drink. Also, there were way too many aloe bits and they were really big so it kind of ruined my drink. By the time I finished drinking the tea, I still had a lot of aloe bits left. I don't think I would come here again and I only recommend this place if you're looking for a small lunch/dinner. read more

However, there was once a blunder where I asked for Pudding Milk Tea with Coconut Jelly and I was given Coconut Milk Tea with Tapioca instead. I ordered a bunch of drinks to go and didn't bother letting them know about the mistake in the order, so I still continue to visit sometimes and haven't had any issues since. read more

You get what you come here for. Are usually often come here for strawberry bubble fresh fruit bubble tea. I don't like the amount of people that are at the establishment as it makes for a busy crowd and a bit slower service. I can drink the "honey milk tea with grass jelly" everyday because that how good is it. Oh, pearl is very important in bbt because i like my pearls to be soft and chewy enough that is not so hard - have to cook at the right time to achieve that consistency! THERE WAS A BUG IN MY MEAL. While finishing up my fried rice i look down at my bowl ans i see a huge GREEN worm/caterpillar looking thing about AN INCH LONG sitting on my rice. I didn't believe it at first because it looked too gross to be true...... It made me sick to the stomach. I cannot believe this place hasn't been closed down. Last night i ordered the Kung Pao "chicken". The meat was not chicken. It was of a small mammal. A small omnivore and the taste was masked by the overly abundant msg and sauce. My husband and I both immediately felt ill and although the taste was not that bad, it was WRONG. This place is in a love hate relationship. I honestly don't know if I like this place or not. Usually I'm not this indecisive about restaurants, although this is a exception. Frankly, I may just be picky, but the foods all feel... Like "junk food". Went here on a Friday night around 10pm and it wasn't too busy. The menu is very extensive and I got the avocado milk "fresh fruit" with tapioca. It tasted very milky and the tapioca was excellent. At 8.80 for 2 drinks, it's very reasonably priced but cash only! read more

Their menu has a stamp on it that says they reserve the right to change prices without notice which is a mighty convenient liberty for them to take (and they did - our bill was more than the menu stated) but I don't think it's very ethical. read more

I do like their bubble drinks here and I also like their spicy beef noodles, takoyaki and beef wrapped in Chinese pancake. Their customer service is pretty bad. on rare occasions, we did get decent customer service but 75% of time, their customer service really bad. Even when we order to go, the waitresses seem clueless and seem high on something because we ended up waiting for 30 minutes due to she had no clues what to do with take out. Food and drinks tatse good. Service is acceptable. Prices are reasonable and comparable to other Taiwanese bubble tea places. Reasons for not giving it a higher rating: Light fixtures above tables are SO DUSTY it probably drops into the food down below. Everything is dusty and filthy. Sofa benches are torn and rough, very uncomfortable to sit on, especially if you're wearing shorts. If the front end of the restaurant is in such disrepair and lack of maintenance, I can't imagine the kitchen or serving staff have very much care to proper hygiene. read more
