The stars are entirely for Bruce's and his crew, Curtis and Brian. I won't go into the weeks of problems scheduling the move and getting the estimate to stay where it started--just assume it's like all other moving companies, get things in writing, and don't budge if they "discover" new charges right before your move. If you have a piano, be sure to open and close each conversation with "I have a piano," and make sure they acknowledge you so you don't get a last-minute "bulky item" charge that wasn't there before. But to focus on the positive--if Bruce's crew ran the company it would be the highest rated moving company in the land. The three guys were extremely polite and professional, and they dealt with a difficult downtown Atlanta loading job with complete calm. We had a condo building with a slow freight elevator, construction in progress that made the crew have to move the load farther, and an active driveway and traffic situation. I was stressed--they were rock-solid and just got it done. Delivery was to another state. The next day, it was a huge relief to see Bruce and Curtis show up on time (sorry Brian wasn't there too). The two of them unloaded in 3-4 hours, and put everything right where we wanted it. A neighbor kid came over to see the big truck, and they halted for a few minutes to let him see the truck w/o danger, really made his day. If you go with this company, ask for this crew. read more

I've moved A LOT. I've had some horrifying moves, some OK moves, and only a couple really good moves. It's tricky finding a good mover because you don't know what you get until it's too late. I met with four other Atlanta movers but didn't get a good feeling from any of them. Exasperated, I called Jeff at Buckhead Movers. I could tell instantly from his genuine commitment to excellence that I'd found the right guys. I hired them on the spot - something I never do. Jeff promised to send "The best" movers. My gut trusted him - I'm not sure how else to explain it. Jeff kept his word. The crew of five was on time and didn't start the clock until the work started. They moved me from a 10th floor 2BR + storage. These guys really hustled, completing the end-to-end move in just 5.5 hours. My previous movers took that long just to LOAD the truck. I literally screamed in glee when I saw the balance owed. There were times when I could've cried at the end of a move. Moving is stressful enough without dealing with amateurs. I was so pleased with the professionals at Buckhead today that I've already told six people my success story. Moving isn't just about getting your money's worth. It's about the whole experience. Terrible moving experience but what surprised me most was the owner's personal attack on me. Mind you, I was 7 months pregnant at the time and it was Christmas break. We moved in July. That shows how long it took to get my issue with the company resolved. I called and left a message about my experience with the owner to tell him about my disappointing experience with his staff. It was in no way unprofessional, nor did I use any foul or abusive language. He called me back, yelling, and I could barely get a word in. This was the first time ever speaking with the owner. Then, out of left-field, he personally attacked me and said I couldn't have gone to Duke University. He said, and I quote, "it is a lie that you went to Duke". My only guess is he looked up my online business profile because I never revealed this information to him. I don't know what he was basing his accusation on. By the way I look? Because I was disappointed in my awful experience? I said, I most certainly did and told him I can show him my dual degrees. At that point, my husband, who was listening on speaker, took the phone and said "excuse me". The owner's response when he realized someone else was on the phone was "oh, another loser" and he promptly hung up on my husband. My husband didn't get to say anything other than "excuse me". 10/2/2014 My crew did a fantastic job! They arrived on time, came prepared with materials, and got right to work. I felt like this would be a complicated job with some of the furniture remaining in the home and the rest going to two different locations; but, this was not a problem for them! They understood and planned accordingly, first marking the items that stayed with the home, then wrapping and loading the items that were to be left on the truck until the last stop, and finally loading the items that needed to come off the truck first. They were very careful and quick, and the team worked together seamlessly. They did not take any breaks! They removed shelves from bookcases, securely wrapped them separately, protected glass inserts, and kept all cords and parts from getting lost or separated, and covered everything with blankets or shrink wrap. They put everything back together and positioned it for us. Having a 4 man crew was very helpful! It not only saved time, but allowed for more "hands on" where needed. Definitely, worth the $150 an hour! I would use them again without any hesitation! It is helpful to mention specifics about items needing extra care in advance. I chose to transport 2 lamps and several pictures in my car, to avoid having them crated. This saved some time and money. read more

We had an excellent experience with Buckhead Movers Feb 3-4, 2014. Patrico and his crew, Oren, Ronnie, and Brandon kept us advised of their arrival time despite a rainy morning's traffic. They were cheerful, personable, and completely competent in everything they did. We've moved several times, even coast to coast, and these guys may have been the best crew we've ever had. They blanket wrapped everything, big and small, upholstered and wood. Everything was placed exactly where we wanted it. Our bed was assembled. They even helped us uncrate the grandfather clock. They asked us to walk through and check walls and floors for damage both in the home we left and our new home. They asked if we needed help moving anything around before they were done. We were invited to examine the truck for anything left behind. Finally, Patrico patiently went over all paperwork with us, explaining the totals, liabilities, insurance, etc. All this while never losing their cheerful demeanor despite two rainy days and a very muddy backyard! read more

Being my first move since moving to Georgia, it seemed like it was going to be impossible to choose from the endless list of movers in the Atlanta area. However, after speaking to Jeff about my move on 3/22, he had such confidence in all the teams and the company, I couldn't help but give them a try. Dennis, Gerrell, John, and JT did an absolutely FABULOUS job. They called on their way to our house, arrived within the given 2-hr window, and got to work the minute they walked in the door. Even towards the end of the 7 hour move, they were working as hard as at the beginning. They also did a wonderful job packaging our fragile furniture - we had 0 damages at the end. TRUE PROFESSIONALS: These guys did everything right. They were very friendly, respectful and professional. They showed up right on time, called ahead to tell me they were coming and went immediately to work. They took great care with everything and made sure I was satisfied with the move in and move out. They completed a move from Avondale Estates to Roswell in 3 hours flat, at a cost of $419. I didn't have a lot of stuff, but still I was very impressed. I was moved by "T.P" (the driver/supervisor) and 2 crew members who were also excellent. I think there's a lot of movers out there who mainly move folks from one apartment to another, but these guys seemed like they could just as competently move from a mansion on West Wesley as they could an apartment. What an amazing team! Bruce and two other guys moved my entire apartment including a massive and very heavy dining room table and got it into my new home perfectly! After moving everything they also moved all of my furniture into place, assembled my bed, and made sure I was happy with everything where it was. Took a couple tries to get the dining table in the right place and the guys got it perfect! I was very impressed at how meticulously they wrapped my furniture and put it on the truck then when we got here they were so careful unwrapping to make sure everything was in perfect condition. Buckhead Movers is fantastic. Initial appointment and estimate with Jeff was quick and accurate. Jeff immediately emailed all details and even followed up the day before to confirm. The crew of Jobbers, Mike and Jarvis called the morning of the move as promised and arrived in timely fashion. They wrapped and protected furniture with great care, were courteous and worked very hard. There were absolutely no glitches, including an extra location stop included in the move. I would never move without professional help, it is worth every penny. I got a quote for 4 men and a large truck and they were great. Sam, Chonga, Randy and Brandon worked extremely hard to help me move my 72 year old mom to a 55+ apartment building. The entire crew showed up high. The all reeked of marijuana when they came in my place. Had i not needed to be out that day i probably would have contacted their management. Then their "supervisor" convinced me I didn't need additional insurance then broke my big green egg and tore a light fixture off the side of my house. After the claim was settled they paid me $97 for a $800 ceramic grill. Do NOT use these guys. read more
