One of the better breakfast places in Eugene for the standard breakfast fare. They pour a good cup of coffee and dis great on the eggs. Hash browns were not crunchy and over greasy in my opinion. I came in here with my husband recently. We were running some errands in the area, and I was getting hangry. You know, feed me or I'll eat your soul kind of thing. My husband suggested this place. We hadn't been here in forever, so I was game. We went in and it wasn't busy. It was kind of between lunch and dinner. But we were immediately greeted and seated. Our waitress was sweet, attentive, and efficient. She recommended things and was helpful. The food was good. I had some sort of a chicken sandwich, and I liked it. The chicken was cooked well, not dry. The onion rings were good. Greasy, but tasty too. My husband had a burger and fries. I didn't like his fries, but that's me. I'm weirdly picky about my fries. We had deep fried mushrooms as an appetizer. Which were good. My only complaint was the amount of dried food I'd consumed. By the time I got to my sandwich, I was so full of grease from the mushrooms and some onion rings, I only ate about a quarter of my sandwich. When I go again, I'll get a salad in place of anything fried to go with my sandwich, just to lighten things up a bit. I love the decor. It's the old school 1950s diner theme. It's a clean, friendly, and fun place to go. It's the kind of food I grew up with. It's nothing special or exotic. It's very basic food served in a fun environment. Would I go back? Absolutely. We checked out Buddy's for breakfast on a Sunday. Yes it was very busy but our wait time wasn't long at all! I haven't been here in years and to be honest I don't know why. I have found my new breakfast spot on the weekends. We each had an omelette and I appreciate they substituted fresh fruit. My omelette was absolutely delicious! They have your traditional breakfast menu and judging by what others had, nice big helpings and good food. Plus the cup of coffee was huge. I've been eating at buddy's for well over a decade, feels like closer to 2 decades now +\-, and have always enjoyed the food & service here. But today was the first time I'd had a breakfast here. I must say it was better than average. I had chicken fried steak w/ country fries, coffee, and started the meal with a cinnamon roll. What wasn't a mystery to me before sitting down today at buddy's is the the service and restaurant are fantastic. What did surprise me was just how damned good that cinnamon roll was. Seriously worth a trip in and of itself. Then the breakfast. The CFS was generously portioned, very tender while still having a great crispy crust, and the gravy was better than fair.... Not too bland, not too salty. I was quite impressed with this breakfast. 10/10 will do this again. read more

Visiting Oregon for the weekend and my friend insisted on coming here. We put it name on the spiral notebook inside and waited for a bit. Worth the wait tho. A random lady outside went around telling everyone the cinnamon rolls were out and of that's what we came for then to leave. Just another case of a rumor. Make sure to listen closely for your name to be called we almost missed it. 50's themed diner. Fun decor making the atmosphere have a feel good felling. Service was quick and great. Our waiter was so sweet and attentive. She was quick witted making jokes with everyone. You can tell it has a hometown feel. Very comforting. It came to our surprise that they were indeed not out of cinnamon rolls. We ordered one immediately. The lady spreading around the false rumor must've felt real dumb We got the famous cinnamon roll. So doughy and and delicious. My friends and I devoured it within minutes. The bread was fresh and delicious with the right amount of frosting. We ordered the omelette with ham and home fries, side of toast and bacon and fries! Also got the french toast. It was all delicious. Great servings and fast. The fries were a little plain but the fry sauce was so yummy it made up for it all. Bacon was crispy and filling. The omelette was cheesy and warm. Best diner I've been to in awhile. Delicious food, genuinely friendly staff, and the environment is comfortable to be in. It feels like a cozy 90's diner with homemade tasting, quality food, from the one time I visited. The only downside is you have to sign in and wait for a table to open up, so seating is pretty limited. I think if they moved to a larger place it might lose its more personable appeal though. Love the Betty Boop theme they have going on. Prices are basic, not higher and not really lower than anywhere else. read more

Amazing service and food. We rolled in with a party of 14, they immediately set up a table for us. The waitress was incredibly fast/accommodating and accurate! Been here twice now, and would go back. Not an impressive diner, but is worth going to if you're hungry. 1) Location is good. Not hard to find. Parking is okay unless it's REALLY busy. People do smoke in the parking lot, which is a little gross and makes it hard to avoid the secondhand smoke. 2) Service is good! Pretty fast. The waitresses are all SUPER nice. 3) Food is average. Large portions for the price. Tastes pretty good, depending on what you get. If you get a breakfast item, and you get a choice between hash browns or fries- PICK THE HASHBROWNS. The fries are rubbery and hard; literally cannot bite into them. (See picture) Overall, if you are looking for a decent meal with good service- Buddy's is worth checking out! read more

What's not to love at Buddy's. Food is homemade fresh each day including the bread. Servings are great. Service is great. The night we were there they definately had something going on with the floors, which is unusual. They were incredibly slick. Seemed like they needed a good degreaser. They had put up a sign that said to be careful and laid out mats, but it seemed odd. Sometimes when you come here you can spot one of our former UO football players, Marcus Mariota, and his gang eating. Its a great spot. read more

If you're looking for a classic diner breakfast - this is the place to go. We've tried lots of other diners in town, but my fiancé and I are always coming back to Buddy's. They're very reasonably priced, and the portions are huge. We particularly enjoy the chicken fried steak and especially the biscuit and gravy. I say "biscuit" because you only need one. They're HUGE. The service has always been friendly and fast, even during the crazy busy mornings. I've also had lunch and dinner here. Again, very good. We were here a couple of times while near Eugene. Neither time disappointed! Given we have a dually truck & we're in downtown Eugene, we parked in a couple of places in their lot, which worked for disabled hubby. Took our seats upon arrival & familiarized ourselves with the menu. Typical small diner, but the tables were decorated with old Hollywood stars & the music was 50s-60s. One could tell the diner was popular as tables were nearly full & regular diners abounded. Our server was excellent & on top of everything. On our first visit, hubby had a BLT minus the L & the thickest strawberry shake he's ever had. I opted for the breakfast burrito with bacon. It arrived at the table still hot & was very satisfying. The salsa that came with it was mild & tasty. Our 2nd visit (next day, which was how good day it was) was just as good, though our server wasn't as personable. Hubby had the pastrami Reuben & I had the breakfast burrito again. Quality was still good. Definitely recommend eating here. read more

Had a delicious breakfast! Found it easily on our way into town. We all 3 loved our breakfast. Parking was rough but we were seated feather quickly. Loved the staff. All friendly and service-oriented. I had something new on the menu biscuit with ham, scrambled eggs,Swiss cheese and honey butter. The honey butter is the best. We all three ate of my plate.
