Has a southern flavor to it. Crispy, moist and tender. The hush puppies, are slightly sweet and crisp on the outside and soft inside. Got a side of Mac and cheese and mash. I've driven past this place a few times and noticed a huge line ... this of course peaked my interest! The service was pretty good! And they are quick to take your order! The clam strips were fantastic! Well seasoned and fried to perfection! I love a clam strips that has a lot of crunchy texture, and not too chewy! This one hits it out the park! The fish and shrimp were also amazing! The chicken fingers and the fries were decent but definitely lacked a bit of flavor in my opinion. The seafood is where it's at! Great food, made fresh in front of you. Totally worth the money. You can't get this quality "fast food" for the price. You can feed a family fresh real food instead of crap from Taco Bell and Mc ds. (Even tho u still love tbell.) Must haves are the fish sandwich combo. Brownie Their tartar sauce is by far the best Buffalo chicken sandwich and 4 shrimp. Staff was very nice and the store and very clean today even though it was so packed. I got crab cakes with Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes along with free corn fritters. My boyfriend got two chicken thighs and fish with potato salad and baked beans. Since we were first here about six years ago, we've enjoyed dining at their location in Boynton Beach. We decided to try this location again for a recent lunch. Some of our new enjoyment here may be that we are now more familiar with their menu and know what to order and what we like. In any case, it was much better than the first time we tried this place so I'm updating my review and giving them four stars now. For lunch this time, we shared their fish and chicken tenders combo. The fish is cod and the chicken tenders are all white meat. They both are fried in a light and crunchy batter. The food was served piping hot right out of the fryer. We got both tartar sauce and cocktail sauce for the fish and I got honey mustard sauce for the chicken. The combo lunch comes with two corn fritters and your choice of two sides. I liked the corn fritters so much that I ordered two more as my "dessert". They are a tad sweet. I'm still not a big fan of most of their sides. We got macaroni salad this time and it was way too much mayo for me. I didn't care for their coleslaw last time, nor their baked beans. We also tried their mashed potatoes and gravy as our second side this time. I wasn't a fan of these potatoes, either. There wasn't much gravy and the potatoes tasted too artificial. I think next time I'll try their french fries. In any case, I don't need the sides to come back. We also know we like their shrimp so that's another possibility. And I just saw that they have a chicken livers dinner that might warrant another visit. But yes, we will return. Probably a bit more often now than before. read more

The last time I posted here, it wasn't so great. This time, we couldn't be more pleased. I made a mistake while ordering online; I chose pick-up instead of delivery. I called the store and they canceled the order and immediately refunded my money. I had to reorder our dinner. An employee from the store called me to double check my order to make sure he gave us the right food. He told me they know us by our order, every Friday night. We thought that was so cool. I was very impressed with the quality of the food st the Boynton Beach location. I ordered the two-piece fried chicken and it was very good. When I've gone to KFC and order the same thing, their chicken can be stringy and a little rubbery. I did not feel this way at bud. it also was clean and the service was very professional. Felt like some fried fish. Just gotta have every once in a while. Going by buds and stopped. They usually have good haddock. I am not the one usually ordering so I asked the young girl ( who appears to be annoyed and does not want to work today, no smile in site)taking the order to explain the seafood platter. "It has seafood". Ok well that explains it. . like fish and shrimp I asked... yes. I order it. I planned on eating in but miss happy did not ask and I did not say so I was given it to go. No big deal except I hate all the waste but at least the container is biodegradable I get my food and open the container. 2 pieces of fish, One decent size and one smaller. 3 medium to small shrimp and 5 bay scallops???? I was not expecting those. The fish and shrimp were cooked well but the scallops had all the batter falling off, over cooked and greasy. The corn fritters a also over cooked and greasy soaked. Had I been given a proper description I would not have ordered this option. I really wish establishments such as this require their staff to know the menu and be able to answer appropriate questions. We just had Bud's carry out fish sandwiches today AND they were delicious! The fish was fried to perfection, the bun was fresh, and the "fixings" (melty cheese, fresh lettuce, and tartar sauce) were a wonderful addition to an already great sandwich. Bud's is an institution in Palm Beach County. My oldest brother worked in one of the locations in high school and that was a long time ago. I visit here every time I visit PB County. I always order the seafood combo with both tartar and cocktail sauce and extra corn fritters. They have fish, chicken, and other seafood options. 3.5 stars I needed something to eat the other day and I wasn't in the mood for something that would take awhile. I'd never heard or been to Bud's Chicken and Seafood, but I was totally craving the combo so I decided to give it a try. As soon as I walked in I knew I'd be alright. The distinct smell of fryer grease hits you smack in the face when you enter. The customer service was great. Since I had never been, I had a lot of questions. The biggest question was, "what came with a meal?" Typically it's fries and cole slaw, but you can mix it up. I got those and added mac & cheese because, well, because I wanted to. With it, I ordered the chicken and shrimp combo. The combo also comes with two corn fritters- or as I call them, hush puppies. The chicken was really good. The perfect amount of breading on top. And the chicken just came out of the fryer because it was crazy hot and juicy. The combo comes with a breast and a leg and about six pieces of shrimp. The real highlight was the mac & cheese. Overall I really liked everything. Yeah, it was fried and everything that's fried truly tastes amazing, but you definitely get a ton of food for the price. Stopped at buds in greenacres as I did many times before ordered the same as I get all the time fish sandwich all the way with fries. When I bit into the fish something was not right, it wasn't cooked well at all. I only ended up eating half of it. For almost 12 bucks I threw half away. When I received the food, I was not given any of the sauce or coleslaw and had to request it from the girl at the window. The quality of the food is good. If you feel like putting up with the hassle of ensuring your order is correct, I recommend checking your food at the window. I ordered 4 meals total and fries were left out of all but 1 box! The chicken pieces in my meal were the smallest pieces I've ever had. It was like half of a chicken thigh and 1 wing! There was no top on the cole slaw. The chicken didn't even taste the same. My whole family noticed it. I must say that I'm giving this a star less for portion size only. I found Buds to be great over the years,considering it is fast food and I've always touted the fish sandwich for its taste and size but the last two times I've ordered it, it was a much smaller portion. My first experience with Buds was wonderful-the piece of fish was thick and came out of the bun . I was almost full before finishing it! The side salads are homemade and delicious. They Do not clean or wash their chicken properly. Anytime I'm done eating the food my fingers smell really raw. I made a promise to my self that January 19,2024 will be my last day eating at Bud's Chicken & Seafood. Maybe they should try washing their meats with vinegar and lime juice.
