Went to order a fish sandwich meal and was charged $16.35 I thought this to be very high for what it was. I was asked to park on the other side of the building and they would bring it out. After waiting for about ten minutes I went inside to find out if it was ready. The store manager said we're about to make it. I said it's been almost 15 minutes and you haven't even started it? There were at least a dozen people working and they were giving food out the drive thru window but they couldn't make a fish sandwich meal? I asked for a refund and told the manager that I would not be back! She should be fired and the lot of employees as well! I have never been so pissed off as I was tonight with the service I received at he east Boynton Buds , I ordered online went to pick it up and it was not ready which is fine but what happened after that was ridiculous. My foods was bagged up and just sat there for almost 5 minutes until I said something. You had 5 employees standing in that corner talk carry on conversation and not helping give food , one of the 5 employees was working while the other ones just stood and talked to each other , and not to mention the food line employees making the dinner plates just oblivious as to what was going on where is management never around. I am a long time customer from way back when you were on federal highway as well as my whole family. The whole staff needs to be retrained and management needs to be present on the premises day and night to keep order in the restaurant. Otherwise I should say that you guys are gonna continue to lose business and ratings.!!!! Bud's rocks. No clue who Bud is but he makes great chicken. But chicken is always third on my list to the sweet corn fritters and clams. Hot golden deep fried heaven that carry great on a long car ride. People behind the counter to seem to love their job or at least their customers and co-workers. They always have smiling faces that seem like you just missed a good joke. And the food is great and fast. I even love the cold slaw that's also is made a little sweet. If you're in the mood for fried food this is the place to be. The portions are huge and the service is not what you would expect for a fast food style restaurant. The girls working at Bud's are super friendly and seem to really care about making your visit enjoyable. Usually my husband will pick up the food and bring it home but the other evening it was late for us and we just wanted to eat asap. Whenever he comes home from the drive through he always say's how professional they are and never has to worry about our order being messed up. Well the other evening I got to see it first hand and I was really impressed. From the restroom to dining area the place was spotless. The girls working behind the counter were continuously busy and never seemed to be just standing around. Food came out pretty fast and when I asked for a sauce that does not come with the meal one of the girls said of course and packed me one up. Most places nickle and dime you for all that but not as Bud's. As for the food it's amazing. Can fried and light go in the same sentence? Well it does here. I love the batter and I have to say it's flaky and seasoned perfectly. Crinkle cut fries are insane and the fried shrimp will leave you wanting more. I don't even use sauce with them since the flavor is perfect without. I don't know what to call the corn balls ( they are not hush puppies) but they are life changing. They might be better with a side of syrup but I promise you they are" Fight for over who get's the last one" good! Today we had lunch but it was not pleasant because of the BLASTING music. We couldn't hear each other or talk at all. The table was sticky but looked clean. The female employee sitting by us did nothing about it...they aren't supposed to work during their lunch time though she could have informed a manager who may or may not have turned the music down to a soft background ambience. After leaving and refrigerating our food at home it was once again the awesome Bud's Chicken & Seafood that we have loved for many long years now! :) We're going back again either today or tomorrow...or both. Have gotten food here a couple more times in the last few weeks. The main reason I am giving them another star is because they have superb toilet paper in their men's restroom. If you are planning to use the bathroom before, during, or after your meal and can't decide on a restaurant, then this is the clear winner (all other things being equal among choices). I, along with my elderly mother stopped in to have a bite at the Bud's on South Dixie Hwy in west Palm beach just north of 10th Ave. My mom ordered the fish quickie, which I tasted and it was well battered and fried ever so crispy on the outside but moist and tender on the inside, just the way fried fish fillets should be. I had the buffalo wings and fries combo and my meal was quite tasty. The dining room was immaculate, which I found comforting considering the fact that the entire evening staff was busy with orders and other things. You can always tell when the shift crew at a fast food restaurant takes pride in their work space, which clearly they did. And even though our meal was awesome, the thing that really stood out for me was their absolutely FIRST CLASS service. I've been to 5-star establishments that didn't treat me with half the decency and respect as a customer as that Bud's Chicken crew did. THEY SHOULD ALL GET RAISES! And the patience and respect that Vanessa had for my elderly mom was priceless. They have a customer for life! i have also been going to this buds for decades. the mahonies were the original franchisers. we knew them through the irish club that's now some church downtown. after mr mahoney had his stroke the restaurant moved north to its present location i have to say if you like fried fish and don't want to pay a fortune for it this is the only place around, seriously. there is no where. its fresh not fishy and you can get six different dipping sauces. best reasonable fried take out fish in the area! i'm still giving 5 stars even though the fries are not well cooked. they need some help so just asked the for well cooked. read more

I like Bud's too, but you have to check your order before leaving because it isn't always a fair portion. I have gotten home with 3 tiny pieces of fish (maybe two bites each), or got white meat when I ordered dark meat, but this last thing was laughable. I ordered two dinners which were good and two pieces of dark meat chicken. The drumstick was so small it looked like a wing drumstick. I took a pic next to a measuring tape to show it. 4" long, end to end! I wanted to post the pic, but there's no option to do that. Dixie in Lake Worth in about 1971 and then moved to this location about 10 years after that. Their food and business model has changed remarkably little over the years.
