You could feel how much he loves what he does and it translated to the service. He helped guide us through our ordering experience as we were having a hard time choosing and we never felt hovered over. Celebrated my aunt's 60th here on Saturday. Food was good but service was ridiculously bad. Our waiter's name was Ariel I think? Initially I thought it was just my side of the table that had a bad experience but apparently it was the same across the board. - When we got there he told us there was no rush. Then he told us again, and again, and again, until it was clear he wanted us to hurry up. - Failed to put my order in so ended up just having empanadas. - We had a special needs person in our party. The mom asked if he could sub fries for mashed potatoes. Apparently he said no, the dish comes with mashed potatoes and if you want fries it'll be an extra charge. - We ordered some empanadas to go and the person who ordered them asked for chimichurri on the side. He said no, in Argentina you don't eat empanadas with chimichurri, so if you want some you'll have to pay $7.50 for a full jar. I'm pretty sure I'm missing some stuff but after all of this he still asked for an extra tip on top of the included tip for our large party, and a Yelp review, so here it is. They moved to a larger table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When it was our turn, the host only suggested a small two-person table that was right next to the hostess area, which we declined. However, he never mentioned the table that the other people had just vacated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's important to clarify that in this establishment, they do sit two people at a four-person table without any problem, as they are accustomed to doing so.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We are regular customers, and the host did not suggest the larger table to us; instead, he told us we would have to wait about fifteen minutes. At that point, he suggested we take a walk. I decided to stay and wait. Behind us, a family of five came in, and this person offered them that table as if nothing had happened. When I noticed this, I confronted him and asked why he offered that table to them when we were in front of them. He simply told me that he rarely offered that table because it was cramped. I pointed out that I had seen him seat some gentlemen there and then move them to another table, but he never offered it to us, only to the people behind us. Honestly, this felt discriminatory because we had driven half an hour to get there, and this person was the owner. Imagine the kind of disrespect shown to customers. If I had to sum up our visit in one word, it would be, "WOW" in the best way possible. My husband and our baby and I went to Buenos Aires Grill to celebrate our 3 years of marriage today and we are sooo happy we decided on this place. We actually live down the street and after having tried this place, we regret not having come sooner! The ambiance was very chill and welcoming. We felt comfortable bringing our 9 month old baby inside. The food, amazing!! We had no idea Argentine food was missing from our lives until today. Since my husband is temporarily low-carb for personal reasons, we had zero problems finding food to accommodate that. We knew we wanted to order the Parrilla Manolo but we relied on our amazing server, Ariel, for some suggestions on other things. Ariel was so so warm and kind from the start. My husband and I wanted an appetizer and were torn between the queso fundido and the queso provoleta. We asked Ariel what he suggested and since we're Mexican, he suggested the queso fundido would suit our palate better. We absolutely loved it! I told my husband to save some for when the Parrilla Manolo arrived but it was a challenge because it was so good. Since we brought our baby, Ariel also suggested a cream of spinach for him to eat and wow. When my baby wasn't eating it, my husband and I were tapping into it hahah The meat from the Parilla Manolo was incredible. My husband and I were in bliss. The mollejas (sweetbreads) were my favorite from that dish. Definitely try it!! We also had an encounter with Evelyn who had brought us our appetizer and she was so warm and sweet as well. She asked if she could hold our baby and it was just a sweet moment between them. Being here made me wish everywhere we went had such warm and inviting people. I take it this is just how Argentines are. For dessert, we asked for it to-go since our baby was getting close to his nap time. I had my mind set on the flan, but Ariel suggested we try the panqueques Argentinos with some lemon gelato and zambaione gelato. We agreed and we tucked into them as soon as we got home. Again, another amazing suggestion by Ariel. So, as a Mexican, I'm not too fond of dulce de leche but I gave the panqueques Argentinos a shot because I had a feeling it would be different and I was right. Definitely give this dessert a chance. I devoured it lol As for the gelatos, they were so yummy. The zambaione was interesting but definitely good. My husband finished it in one sitting lol The lemon one I tried and it was incredible. I'm definitely enjoying that one later tonight heheh To conclude my review, I give this place a 10/10 for both the service (Ariel is the best!!) and the food. Give this place a try! We came on a Saturday evening, the place was busy, but we got seated right away. We ordered empanadas as an appetizer with our drink order. The empanadas and drinks arrived quickly and the empanadas tasted good. Our food order took a while to arrive, but not too long considering how buys the place was. My dinner was tasty and cooked well but the mashed potatoes that came with it (although they tasted good) were just barely warm, while my entree was heated properly, which I wasn't crazy about. My husband liked his steak, but said the fries that came with it weren't very good. Also, we had to flag down our waiter for a drink refill because he hadn't come around to check if we needed anything. All in all, the atmosphere was good and the majority of our food was good, but when we got home we noticed on the receipt that we were charged a 3% "kitchen gratuity", which is pretty ridiculous! I know tips are automatically charged for large parties, etc., but there were just 2 of us, and what is a kitchen gratuity anyway??? Isn't the fact that we're paying you for our food and for you to prepare it, etc. enough? We left the waiter a tip, but now we're being forced to tip the kitchen staff also? I don't know if we'll be back as this left a bad taste in our mouths. If we do go back, we'll probably leave a slightly smaller tip now, knowing they will automatically be taking an extra "gratuity " anyway. read more
