Donna was our bartender/server - Phenomenal, pleasant, attentive and fun. we split the fish sammy - YUMMY. I visited this local bar and restaurant in Payson on the recommendation of my son whom drives through Payson regularly. Our visit consisted primarily of needing to stop for dinner and we were told that this was a place for good food, service and reasonable pricing. With having just one experience visiting the Buffalo bar-and-grill my results were unfortunately unsatisfactory. While the service was excellent and the staff and restaurant had nice rustic western charm, the center of our meals was disappointing. My son and I both ordered the premier selection on their menu- the 12oz New York strip. We both had it cooked at medium, but both steaks were very tough. Though not overcooked the results were very tough to chew and even less flavorful. However, the poor performance of the steak was the exception. The huge loaded baked potato was excellent as were the tortilla soup and chipotle wings eaten with the meal. The other disappointment was the pricing which ended up at over $80 for just the two of us, neither of which bought alcohol for drinks. The steak clearly was the main cost, and it being failed made this a bitter experience. I will probably return hopeful that my one experience was the exception. read more

This grill offered a wide assortment of appetizers, entree's and draft beers. They have an interior, and exterior eating area...with a fireplace(probably for winter eating) but better, they have an outside bar, where people can eat or just drink. Staff are s more than friendly - it's genuine happiness! Both bartenders were prompt with assistance and happy natured! That's really nice... We ordered a Chicken Philly hoagie and hamburgers. I had a special request for more mushrooms than peppers and only one piece of cheese. It was typed entirely into their computer order system and recited to me as my food was delivered. That's efficient!! The sweet potato fries were very flavorful. Regular fries were good too - lightly coated and not over cooked. All the Food was really good. They have a very large menu with a variety of choices for everyone - highly recommend eating here if you are in the area or passing through! (The views heading into or leaving Payson on Hwy 87 are also worth the trip!! ) read more

Biker bar in Payson. We overestimated the amount of things to do herein Payson. yes, there are some remote hiking trail's and waterfalls. yes, there is a weekend art fair (you know the type). But , ummm, we didn't find much else and not many places to eat but we had a great time and cold beer here. Sandwiches and burgers great. Nice chatty people, some dogs. Did I say dog-friendly patio? We were NOT greeted well at all by the server name Joe today! We walked in to the restaurant for the first time, and Joe was supper controlling and did not provide the option to sat at the table we had requested! Instead he said NO YOU CANT HAVE IT, I'm keeping this table for someone whose going to keep this for a people of 6 people or more, but 5 min later he handed the same table to 3 people instead! Joe made us feel supper uncomfortable at the table by being so pushing towards a food we had allergy for and did not listen to take our order. Laidback bar and grill. Try the Deluxe BLT it was very good. If your looking for some cold beer on tap and something fried to eat give them a try. They also have beans, salads and other sides. This place is great! We stopped by on a Friday afternoon on our way back from Woods Canyon Lake, and we loved it. We ordered a few things to share - fries, chicken nachos, and the special which was fish tacos. The fish tacos were outstanding. The fries are the good kind, well seasoned and kind of battered. The nachos were kind of plain, but we take the blame there as my husband told the waitress he didn't like onions, so she said to stay away from "the works" which would have added a lot of ingredients besides chicken/cheese/salsa on the side. The beer is cheap and cold. The servers were awesome. We will be back! The only downside was the Iowa Hawkeyes flag outside. Just driving through, and kids were hungry. So we stopped off here. It was Sunday night, and surprisingly it was very busy. We were able to get a table outside. Had a great view of the entertainers performing on stage. Staff was very good and very nice. Great service!! Now to the food, I had their oriental chicken salad. Now I was assuming this was a standard iceberg lettuce salad. As it turns out, it's a cabbage salad. I was first hesitant to try it. However after taking a couple of bites, this was a great salad!! I'll order it again when I come back. All the kids had grilled cheese sandwiches w/fries. Kids are kids, they'll going to enjoy a regular grilled cheese. Great little bar in the middle of Payson. The atmosphere was really nice although the entrance is fairly small and gets crowded on the weekend. There is a good variety of food items on the menu with a lot of different choices than you would expect at a regular bar- authentic fish and chips and an elk burger are just two unusual items. If I were to recommend one thing on the item it would be the sliders. 3 amazing small burger patties on a perfectly toasted bun. The grilled onions and cheese were perfect for this item. I tried that from a friend's plate while I decided to get the Sirloin Steak Melt for myself. I enjoyed it a lot with the Swiss cheese perfectly melted. The onions and mushrooms were awesome on the burger, but I felt like I didn't get enough steak on the sandwich. For that reason I would give it a 4 out of 5. The cheese curds are a great appetizer if you want to get one- comes with a big side of ranch. read more

We got into town late and wanted to find something quick, easy, and good for dinner. However, with a large family, that's not always possible. We had 6 of our children (ages 7-17) and when we walked in, the waitress (who was busting her butt) told us it would likely be 20-30 minutes before she could seat us because she already had a couple of large parties. We said that was fine and prepared to hang out patiently. She seated us in less than 5. She and some other staff pushed together tables for us and made things work. Thank you Barbara - not only did she do that, she was our server with a great sense of humour. I ate nachos, a couple of the kids had burgers, my husband had the Reuben, and one of Littles had chicken tenders. It was all off the charts amazing! This place was awful! Not sure if it's the pace of Payson, but restaurants are so slow and unapologetic. We should've walked out after walking in and standing there waiting to be searing for almost 10 minutes without even being acknowledged at all as wait staff walked by us several times. We finally got seating, ordered drinks, the waitress seemed nice but not quit into The game. She took our order. There were 3-4 servers working , standing around often. Apparently there was sone problem in the kitchen, lots of profanity from them right in front of us, super unprofessional! A HOUR after ordering, we got our food. A chili cheeseburger, way over cooked, I was not asked how I wanted my burger cooked. The chili was basically beans. A tiny sprinkle of onions and a very tiny sprinkle of cheese. Worst chili burger ever. The fries were Luke warm at best. The other order was for fried fish, fries and tortilla soup. I was told the fish was ok, the soup was good. I would NEVER recommend this place. Again, no apologies, or excuses given as to why it took over an hour to get food, that wasn't even good! NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

This restaurant is a fun place to stop and grab some food while in the Payson area. The parking lot is a bit small, so you may have to drive around a bit to find a spot if it's a busy time frame. Inside it's dark and has a very bar like feel to it. Portions were large and the food was good. A great place for a standard burger and fries meal if you like that kind of thing. We sat at the bar and the staff was very friendly and attentive. They have some shirt you can buy if you want a souvenir to take with you. J just left this place, I was part of a party of 7. I suffer from food allergies and had to bring in my own food and was told I was not allowed to bring in outside food not have my food warmed up. Keep in mind I walked in with 7 other guest who ALL ordered off the menu. I had to argue my point that I needed to eat my food and eating it cold would have to do since they couldn't warm it up for me.
