Glad I finally made it to Buffalo Cafe and I went in with high expectations based on the reviews. I got the Basque style sausage plate and the sausage was definitely the best part of the meal. The biscuit and homemade jam was tasty as well. Buffalo Cafe gives you down home cooking and is not trying to be something they're not which I appreciate. It is a pretty simple place with decor that doesn't need updating because that would change what this place is. There are better places to eat in Twin Falls to be sure, but this is worth a shot you have multiple chances to eat out in the area. read more

This place won my heart on a stopover during a cross-country drive from Philadelphia to Portland. Perfect roadside diner stop for a traveler looking for local friendly staff and delicious food to keep you full for a while. I had the chorizo special which provided more food than I could handle for $6.95. Had to take my humungous biscuit to go. My waitress (wish I could remember her name) was extremely friendly and made me feel welcome despite being from out of town. I won't name names, but another diner down the road was pretty unfriendly and I felt weirdly out of place there (the food was lackluster as well). By their hours you can see this is a breakfast and lunch place. Based on the Yelp reviews, thought I'd give it a try while in the area on business. Unfortunately, Yelp did not come through on this one (at least for my experience). Per the menu, they make their own chicken fried steak. When I see that, I can't help myself and give it a try. First, I like the coating to be light and a little crunchy like, oddly enough, fried chicken. I found it to be heavy, no crunch at all, and little flavor. The cube steak was stringy and hard to cut. The gravy was very thin and oily with that oil and the gravy separating on my plate shortly after it was served. The country style hash browns were horrible having been cooked hours before I got them (my guess is for their breakfast rush. I got there at 11:00). Several pieces of potato were so old and dried up it was like chewing jerky. Barely at room temperature - just horrible. My experience is that when a place serves/treats their sides with such disregard, their slingin' food out the kitchen, not serving meals to their family, friends, and guests. I don't doubt you can find a good meal at this place. Unfortunately, I didn't. read more

If you go go for what they are famous for! The buffalo chip was delicious!! My husband got the steak and eggs which he said was good but not really seasoned, so the flavor came from "dipping" his steak in his egg yolks. The kids breakfast is really cheap ($1.50) but nothing to special, however it was refreshing to not attend six dollars on an egg and toast for a three year old. A local recommended this place and I was glad she did. I had a 2 pancake special with an egg and sausage patty with a cup of coffee. The pancakes were huge, sausage and scrambled egg were cooked perfectly. It was delicious. My coffee never got cold despite the place being packed. I paid less than $7! The prices on the rest of the menu were also very reasonable. I like that. I also sat at the counter next to the kitchen and was able to see a lot of the meals being cooked and served. REVIEW: Buffalo Café So my wife and I were down from Spokane, visiting good friends in Boise. A Saturday day trip with them took us to regions southeast, including Twin Falls. After several hours of sightseeing lunch time had come and gone. A quick check on Google revealed a well-rated eatery by the name of the Buffalo Café. The reviews sounded hopeful and they'd be open another half hour, and we were only blocks away. So, a racing we did go. Walked in the door and we knew: this was a popular joint. A few moments later we understood why. The servers welcomed us warmly, even though they knew we'd be there after closing. But the greatest thing of all? The food...man oh man, the food. I had the corned beef hash with fried potatoes and a biscuit the size of a Paul Bunyan goiter. What I especially liked about the hash was that it wasn't overly salty like many hashes I've eaten. It even had a slight sweetness my tastebuds met with pleasure. My wife had chicken strips and a salad. I know what you're thinking: what's so great about chicken strips? Aw, that's where you're missing the point. Seemingly ordinary foods like chicken strips are sometimes the test of good cookery: can you transform that ordinary food into excellent eats. And, apparently, they did, because my wife loved her meal. Our friends both had the Reuben, and our friend Jan also had a salad with the house-made Blue-cheese dressing. Her comment on the salad was "excellent." The wonderful food was equaled only by the delightful service. We found the servers' good natured humor and playful kidding charming, disarming. Went here for breakfast on Sat. Pulling up to this place I thought: oh no, this is a hole in the wall place. However, looks can be deceiving- well it is still kind of a hole in the wall place but it is great. It was absolutely packed. We wound up sitting at the counter, something we never do! However it was a hoot. The server( I'm sorry I don't remember her name) was outstanding! She was helpful and very humorous. The food was great! The price and service was as well . This cafe is off the beaten path, but well worth the effort. The service was excellent and the portions fantastic. I had the 'Buffalo Chip' which is a great dish of layered potatoes, bacon, green chilis, and cheese topped off with two eggs. Both my wife and I were amazed at their HUGE homemade biscuits.
