Tenth anniversary We went back the the Chophouse because we went on Valentines Day and it was memorable. Tonight, well....... We were in Vegas in the Spring and the prices here were at least half of what they charge in Vegas for the same. Yea! First, the steak could not be better anywhere in the world. I had the 16 oz filet. Ordered it medium rare, it came out medium. Oh well, it still was delicious. The sides were great as well. I had Mac and cheese, the wife have the Brussels sprouts. I never was a fan of the but these were truly delicious. The service, meh, at best. We ordered drinks, then a shrimp cocktail to munch on as we drank. It took 20 minutes or more to get the shrimp. My drink was about done. Waitress asked if we wanted to order as we waited for the shrimp. We better, we thought as we wanted to be home before tomorrow. Asked the. Server what she recommended between the strips and the fillet. Well, she said, the filet was leaner. Um, duh. Maybe the server might know which of the steaks were best that day or something more helpful. She said she's been there three months. At an expensive steakhouse forgive me but I expect knowledgeable servers. The shrimp cocktail finally arrived later. Recently came here for my mom's birthday. Wow was it an experience! Our server was incredible. On top of things and very sincere, which made the experience all the better. Started the night off with a whiskey sour, which was perfectly balanced. We ordered some of their calamari and it was absolutely delicious. For dinner, I ordered the roasted chicken since I'm really not a steak-eater. It was pretty good, but my only complaint is that it was incredibly salty. Over-the-top salty, if I'm being honest. We ordered a side of the green beans they were serving as the special for the night, and they were to die for! Ended the night with an affogato. I came here with high expectations and was ready to get disappointed by something. However, our experience was delightful. First of all the place is gorgeous and the staff were very professional. Upon arriving we were greeted with complementary valet parking and were seated quickly after. Our server was very nice and professional and absolutely flawless in his job. Full disclosure: we ordered from the restaurant week menu where entrees came already with sides. Therefore, we ended up paying a reasonable price for a delightful meal and I can't really speak to the complaints about sides being "la carte" and expensive. We got complementary bread, butter, cheese, olives and pickled peppers. The bread was warm and fresh and so good that we ate more than we should. Next we got the caesar salad. The salad was delicious and spot on and actually had a generous portion for $14. As entree, I had the Queen cut prime rib roast with vegetables. I have mixed feelings about the Buffalo Chophouse- Pros: Staff verifies patrons' parking, which means you can park in the lot instead of having to find a spot on the street. The restaurant interior has a nice dark ambiance, and the service is very prompt and courteous. Cons: There are no vegetarian options on the menu (I know it's a chophouse, but a simple pasta or veggie burger would do). I asked the waiter and he said he would ask the chef. When he returned he said I could have corn enchiladas. I was glad they accommodated my request, but it would have been very nice to have a choice. My husband ordered a steak and the top came out very charred. He typically likes char but felt this was way too much. He asked for it to be redone to which they agreed, but the second one was still quite charred. The steak does not come with any side dishes. We felt that for the money spent here we should walk away feeling like we loved our meal, but this was unfortunately not the case. read more

I don't think that Russell Salvatore would have let those guys in. This is a high-end steakhouse and everything is a la carte. My wife greatly enjoyed her watermelon salad, and my wedge salad consisted of an entire head of lettuce. Needless to say, it was very good but I could not finish it and still hope to eat much of my steak. My wife had the Delmonico steak and I went with the filet. Both excellent and cooked medium rare as requested, though I prefer without the crunchy salty seasoning/rub. Just a personal preference. We split the humongous baked potato, which was very good. The service was friendly. We might return on special occasions, but I have to say that I personally prefer Russell's for ambience, food and value. Google shows hours for this place as being open until 10PM. As a professional pilot, we regularly rely on Google when looking for businesses when on the road. Arrived at 9.10, and was told by some mid level manager that they were "done for the night." I explained to him what google showed their hours as, and asked what could be done. He replied "nothing." I then asked to speak to his manager. A few minutes later, a very unpleasant gentleman showed up, who told me that I should have "checked their website." I informed him that any business that relies on the public walking in might want to ensure that their profile on Google was correct. This "gentleman" was incredibly rude, raised his voice at me, and I also got the pleasure of having another guest of the restaurant insult me and yell at me as well (which said "manager" condoned). Today (4/6/19) we came (party of 3) to enjoy the restaurant week specials. Two of my party members ordered the Boneless braised beef short ribs, and I ordered their Salmon with basil cream sauce. My first ever time here was no joke, wow, just wow. I was taken here as a surprise for my birthday by my boyfriend and he picked an amazing place. Our waitress Meghan was so personable, attentive and knowledgeable. We chose the specialty appetizer which was buratta cheese with a blueberry compote- when I say I wish I ordered two of them, I'm not lying. We were seated promptly with our 8pm reservation, and brought upstairs to our table for 2. Jon was our server, with a thick European accent and serious attention to detail. He made the evening shine. I've been this place twice as a guest for someone's birthday and both experiences were phenomenal. Both times I ordered a filet and it melted in my mouth. I was definitely very happy with my steak and my steak was always medium rare / cooked to perfection. The service is absolutely wonderful at chophouse. In terms of price and portion, I would say chophouse is about the same as other steak houses, but they do offer many promotions, like the free birthday dinner (up to $50). Then they offer you a coupon to use in a few months for $40 for two people. They have so many options for drinks, it was overwhelming! But the waiters are so friendly and patient. Great cuts of meat here and cooked just as requested. Lost a star for the interior- I still don't understand why they covered up the exposed brick with dry wall and it just looks unfinished. Also, having the prep station at the top of the staircase (busiest part of the restaurant) was awkward for all. The Chophouse is probably the most famous steakhouse in the city. They have a pretty great reputation. I won a $25 gift certificate to come here which is the only reason I came in. Even with the savings i still spent a good amount of money. The restaurant looks very old school. Depends on the person whether you'll like it or not. I tried the nightly special with was a bacon wrapped filet. It was tasty but nothing to rave about. He when you order a steak that's all you get. Everything is ala carte. So I spent an extra $30 to add on a lobster tail and another $9 for a bake potato. I know it's "fine dining" but I could get 20 lbs of potatoes for $9. Not complaining... I'm just saying.... Overall food was good, service very good. I sat at the bar since I was alone. I can say I was surprised the drinks weren't overpriced. read more

if I were rating on just the service and food, the rating would have been 5 stars. The problem is, we asked a question so our server asked the manger, Andrew Shemay, to come to our table. He arrived at our table already having a serious attitude. He preceded to ask, with a very matter of fact attitude, what we needed. We've been cooped up for a while, so decided to treat ourselves to a meal at Chophouse. We were able to sit outside on a balcony with just two tables (the other was empty the entire time) and it felt like a private dinner! The food and service were excellent. Our waiter made sure to explain everything he could to us and let us know the salads and sides were enough to split with two people, possibly three. Salads were delicious (Caesar and chopped).We ended up ordering a rib eye and 8pz filet for our meat options and mushrooms, Mac and cheese, asparagus and mashed potatoes as sides. The Mac and cheese was honestly one of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. I would get it again in a heartbeat. The veggies were also good. Mashed weren't anything special, but weren't bad. I had a great meal here. We sat on the 2nd floor balcony overlooking the 1st floor bar. The atmosphere was lively and upbeat. Our severs were very friendly, engaging and assisted in making some great selections. We started off with oysters on the half shell. They were exceptionally fresh and clean.
