Made me nervous not smelling anything in a BBQ spot. Ribs are excellent could use more sauce or sauce on the side. Links tasted store bought. The beans were disappointing someone just opened a can no seasoning at all. Prices are a bit high for the portion 3 ribs and 1 link cut up and 2 sides $30. Either adjust the portion or reduce the price some. I think I'll stick to the meats. read more

This place is a gem. We ordered the catfish, chicken and the Brisket sandwich. Omg! Buford's BBQ did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. Including the sides. The seasoning on the catfish was on point. The Brisket sandwich was so flavorful and the chicken was amazing. We had to try the Peach Cobbler that was beautifully displayed in the front and THAT was so Yummy. Overall, the food was Amazing but I think the Best part was meeting Buford and having such a great conversation with him. He was the icing on the cake. Very Personable and kind. We stumbled upon this place while looking for BBQ in the area and came based off of the reviews and the food pictured and let me just say they did not disappoint!! My daughter and I shared the brisket and ribs with Mac and cheese and green beans. My partner had the brisket sandwhich and said it was perfect. While leaving we took some peach cobbler and banana pudding to go. The portions are pretty hefty and the food is so good. A couple years back I moved to the area from Oklahoma and never found a BBQ spot that was as good as home until now!! So glad we stumbled upon this little gem. Buford and Anita are amazing!! Very welcoming. When we came in Buford seated us and made us feel right at home. Anita played with my 3 year old daughter and made her so excited to come back. As we left she said "mom this is my favorite place!" The restaurant itself is very clean and decorated nicely. Best BBQ restaurant in the East county, maybe even the entire East Bay. -Nice to finally be able to try this place. Real Memphis BBQ where you can sit down and enjoy some delicious meats & hospitality. We tried a few of the combination plates. -On my 3-way combo plate I got pork ribs, beef brisket & hot links with sides of baked beans and mac & cheese. The ribs were perfect, fall off the bone and flavorful. The brisket was prepared kinda like burnt ends. So great. The hot links were sliced up and nice and spicy, but not so much you can't taste anything. Love that smoky flavor you get from their real bbq. -My son got the 2-way combo plate with chicken and brisket with sides of baked beans and green beans. He was expecting Texas style brisket which is cut up in slices, but still was great. His chicken was exceptional and fall off the bone also. It was two wings, two flats and a thigh. He said "it's the best chicken he's ever had". It was amazing. -The sides were really good. Baked beans had either ground pork or beef( I forgot to ask which) and I think some jalapeño flavor. Mac and cheese was very good too. Nice and cheesy and was the slightly larger Mac noodles which I like. Green beens were likely stewed in a broth and were better than your average bean. All the meats were generously sauced with delicious bbq sauces, which I believe they make in house. We were there at lunch on a Thursday, so it wasn't busy. I enjoy sitting and taking my time to enjoy my food and not feel rushed. Owners were so nice and friendly. I will have to go back and try the few things we didn't get on the menu. Menu is small and simple, but that's a good thing. The place doesn't have that many tables, but is nice and clean. There's also quite a lot of parking across the street and behind the restaurant. The only slight downside is there's a lot of sauce on all of the meats. The great part of that is, their bbq sauce is absolutely amazing. Cant wait to go back!! read more

Me and my family just had a really pleasant experience at Buford's. The place is clean, quiet and comfortable. My toddler enjoyed it as well and didn't want to leave. Food was really good. Buford himself was so kind. People who are calling him rude or say he didn't smile should look within themselves and get off their high horse expecting him to act to your standards. Wandered in before a concert at the El Campanil and OMG was is a great idea! Buford's is the absolute BEST BBQ I've had in years! The brisket and links were amazing with just the right amount of their Memphis "Original Sweet and Sassy" sauce. I ended up buying a "flask" on the way out! Sides are delicious too! Their BBQ beans are NOT your generic beans out of a can with some sauce poured in. The are the best ones I've had anywhere! In a meaty sauce that tasted like it had be watched over and simmered with care. I've already been back again and gladly recommend them to all my friends! Buford's has mastered the fine art of cooking over fire grill evidenced by tender sweet smoky throughout the ribs, not dry but juicy the flavor was there without the sauce. I had actual ribs not stew meat being called rib tips. I also need to mention the fresh creamy potato salad and the delicious baked beans. This food reminds me of standing in line for an hour for worthwhile food. My food was brought to me by my son due to me being unable to go to the restaurant. Waiting for the day I feel better to go sit down and have a nice dinner and I will. Nice warm rolls not white and brown sandwich bread. The large pieces of catfish was seasoned to perfection. Ongoing to the peach cobbler which taste like fresh peaches were used because they were not mushy but a nice solid crunch and just enough sweetness not over sweet with sugar. We decided to go and try something different. BBQ was the choice of the day. Being that we want to help and support local businesses, we started looking around for places near us that had good yelp ratings. Buford's BBQ had almost a perfect score with everybody which Was intriguing. We decided to try this place out and boy am I glad we did! As we walked in, there were two gentlemen sitting at the table talking to each other and they got up immediately and welcomed us. One of the gentlemen got self as Buford and I asked if this was his place which he replied yes. I told him we were very excited to try out his food and he was more than nice and professional. We got to meet the cook and the person at the front counter and they were all extremely friendly and inviting. It was like going to a family barbecue to be quite honest. They told us to check out the menus sit down and relax and they would take care of us which they did. I could go on and on all day, but let me tell you, we tried a ton of different foods and each and everyone Was amazing! This food is definitely made with love and you can certainly taste it. We had the barbecue ribs which were amazing and their homemade barbecue sauce is out of this world. We also had potato salad, macaroni and cheese, green beans, and then I wanted to try the spaghetti meat sauce, which blew me away. We were also given a sample of the beans and the Coleslaw. Both were absolutely amazing. There is not one negative thing I can say about this place nor would I because I will be here at least once a week if not more. It's just that good! Forget to try the dessert! We tried the banana cream pudding..........out of this world! Everything is baked fresh from the whipped cream to the sauces to everything...... you can taste it. I can't believe I didn't find this place earlier. They have the absolute BEST barbecue chicken I've ever had in my life. SO many barbecue places have dry, overcooked chicken. We ordered two family dinners which had ribs, chicken, links and beef two sides potato salad, baked beans and Mac and cheese they ran out of the green beans. Everything was good in not over seasoned with salt. The place is very clean, the owners are very nice.
