The mass amount of five star ratings this BMW service shop has accumulated is well justified; me and my dad have been bring our BMW's here for five years and have always experienced fair and honest dealings with the service advisors and owner. They are friendly sure, but more importantly, they know everything there is to know about BMW's and all the guys own BMW's themselves, and even race them. They have lots of great hookups as well; every referral they've every given me whether it be audio installation, paint touch-ups, or body work - they've all been great! When I had to move to Florida for a couple years for pilot training, I sincerely missed being able to just take my M3 to Bullet. I just took my mom's older 02 5 series there for routine service, and it was refreshing that nothing's changed - better service, better people and better prices all around. So, I was looking to test a pre-owned car I was going to buy. Yes, I know, I could do it myself. But, I have never dealt with BMW before and wanted to be certain that the engine , the heart of the car is solidly strong and healthy. Word of mouth goes a long way. I've stricken a conversation with an owner of a similar car before I found mine, and he told me that he is a frequent at Bullet Performance. So, that is where I took it for a pre-purchase test. The test took about three hours and did not cost all that much, considering how important was the information I was getting. Bullet created an account for me and gave me an online access to it, so I saw all the tracking information as the car was passing various stages of being processed by the Bullet. Bullet gave me an entire list (!) of things that were wrong with the car, and each part on that list had an estimated moto-resource expressed as percentage, so it had items such as: "Left Lower Control Arm - 60% remaining, Right Lower Control Arm - 20 % remaining". Easy, right? Shouldn't all shops do it this way? Anyway, Bullet checked the entire car including mechanics, electronics, computer and even the cosmetics, and my printout was three pages long. I did not buy the car, btw - as it had two out of eight cylinders with below specs pressure readings, and that test I would surely not do If I was doing it myself. I would absolutely recommend this way to anyone buying a car who is not very experienced mechanic. My second pick turned out to be as perfect as they come of the line and that was what I bought. While waiting for my car to be released, I couldn't help and went to the bay to check how they do it. I found that the car was almost ready, - just needed the wheels to be mounted back on it. Then I saw the shop owner. He asked if he could be of help. I explained that I was just curious, and that this is my car here on the lift waiting for the wheels. He said "Great! Let me help you out of here quicker" and mounted my wheels himself. Did you catch that? And this is not a two person shop, that would be "owner - operated", oh no, Bullet has grown to two nearby buildings, with plenty of mechanics. So, this was a very, very pleasant surprise to me, that the owner did not think it would be a big deal if he gets a little bit dirty in order to ensure my experience at Bullet was super smooth. (To be honest, I would not trust an owner who couldn't do what his mechanic can do, if he wanted to). I would encourage you to find out about this shop, and may-be do a simple procedure on your BMW, like an oil change or an alignment there, so that when you need a shop, you have one more option with which you are already acquainted. read more

Took my BMW to their shop for some diagnostics. I believe I spoke to Terry the owner and he accomodated leaving my car overnight locked up. Their diagnostic fee wasn't that much compared to another shop I tried (1/2 actually) and they thoroughly evaluated what they thought it could be which was in tune with my suspicions. They quoted all my options all of which in writing as any good mechanic shop should do. I decided to move on from repairing this car and will use these guys for inspections if I can as they have a thorough eye. read more

Called on tuesday to schedule an appt for an oil change. I typically work until late in the evening so I try to set up something for the morning...they didn't have any openings for wed or thursday but said friday first thing in the morning was available. I asked how long it would take and their estimate of time was 1hr-1.5hrs...asked if they were low car friendly, they said not a problem..... cool everything looks good, so far. Arrived a little bit before their opening time of 8am and drop off my car confirming that this should take around an hour. I leave to go kill that 1hr-1.5hrs at a local gym....and return 1.5 hrs later to see my car still in the same spot where it was parked originally. They try to give me some excuses of other cars that needed to be worked on or other people who were waiting there, well if that were the case then don't schedule me at 8am on a day where you had other priorities. Maybe you overbooked and realized it later, call me, don't wait for me to show up then try to get me to wait even longer as if I don't have to be at work. Needless to say I took my keys and left. I have been taking my car to Bullet for about 7 years. I completely trust them and have referred several people to them. As with all car repairs, it has to be diagnosed before a firm estimate can be given. Several times the actual cost has been less than the estimate. This is where I feel the honesty of Mickey has been. He could have charged me more, and I would not have known the difference. I was referred here by a friend who swears by this place so I brought in my e92 M3 for a major service and repair and was helped by Micky and Terry. They figured out the problem quickly and were able to get it fixed right away. Not only did they exceed my expectations in replacing the throttle actuator but they worked directly with my warranty company to make sure the inspector signed off on the repair. It took several days for the inspector to get out there, inspect and approve the job, my car sat in the shop disassembled, taking up space all the while. I just got a Dinantronics Stage 1 and Dinan DTS instead in my 2013 535i. Wow, the car is super fun to drive. In Sport Mode the car feels a little angry :-) and it just wants to go. I really do not trust these mechanics. Unless you have a brand new M3, they do not treat you with much respect at all. Their pompous attitudes were very uncalled for. One time I heard them say in the background, "they keep paying so I just keep taking their money" as I was leaving. I took my 1974 BMW model 2002 because there was a problem with the fuel line and carburetor. Whenever I tried to accelerate, the engine wouldn't get enough gas, it would be fine at lower speeds but not on the freeway. I gave them thousands of dollars to fix it and kept telling me that they fixed the problem. I went back many times but finally went to a shop down the street which was not as well known called econo motors, but the mechanic was old and retired recently. Anyways he found out that Bullet had put in the wrong year fuel pump, and had also used several Saab parts to fix my car. He took the fuel pump that Bullet installed and gave it to me to give back to Bullet. I felt like an idiot for giving Bullet so much money, but I be they felt like idiots when I brought the fuel pump back. read more

I'm a long time BMW owner and I value a good independent mechanic as much as I value my cars--I've always felt that Mickey and the mechanics at Bullet feel the same way. They're a bit more expensive then some other independents but they make up for it by charging fair prices for parts and labor and making sure they're not doing work that you don't need. They're busy enough as it is thanks to referrals from customers like myself so I imagine the last thing they need is to spend more time working on a car then necessary. read more

Recently my wife's 540iT was guzzling oil at an alarming rate. I took it to Bullet and they diagnosed the problem via two visits (to see if a more serious repair might be averted). In short it needed a new engine because of severe cylinder wall scoring and bearing failure. This particular BMW engine block's liners are not serviceable. I have an aftermarket warranty and Mickey did all the communication with them. Getting the warranty company to agree to the engine swap was a PITA, but Mickey got it done, found a "new" used engine (what the warranty company would pay for) with good internals and got the swap finished in just two weeks. It was a huge job, consisting of dropping the transmission and whole front end. The car now runs good as new and there are no lingering issues with the job. My wife is very happy too. read more

I recently went here because of the good reviews. I needed an oil change and my brake light was on in my car. The guys working here very nice. I got a call once they looked over the car. They found $1700 worth of stuff to fix. My oil change and brake light turned into not only brakes but rotors, and all four tires. For $1700!! I got a second and third opinion and I only needed two tires and all brakes and rotors and total was $800. Although I feel like they do quality work, I would encourage you to price out different places before commiting. read more

I can't even express to you how great this shop is! I needed help with my e46, they helped. I had questions, they gave me the answers. They showed me they cared about my situation and showed me they truly wanted to help me and not just take my money. Once they found out I was a veteran they showed me great appreciation and I felt important. This was the absolute best experience I have ever had in any mechanic shop. Ever. I will never take any of my cars to any other shop. Ever. The way I stumbled onto this shop is a perfect example of how they do business and how they treat their customers. My e46 started to leak coolant so I decided I was going to try to fix it myself. I didn't get very far before I realized I couldn't do it without having a special tool to take the fan and fan shroud off. I contacted several BMW shops close by to ask them the simple favor of borrowing this special tool. Some of them laughed at me, which I kind of expected, some wanted me to pay to use it, and some just wanted me to bring the car in for am inspection and diagnosis that I would have to pay for then they would take the fan off. When I stopped by Bullet they instantly said yes and they even offered to just take the fan off for me no questions asked with no strings attached. This was just the beginning of my great experience with this shop. Long story short my e46 is fixed and if it wasn't for Bullet it would have taken a lot longer and cost me so much more. Made the mistake of an oil change through jiffy lube and they stripped my oil cap. All my oil leaked out. Bullet has done a lot to my M3 including oil, new rear diff, sport racing performance tune, traction control modification to allow tires to spin a bit more off the line without traction kicking in. So this review is for a repair they did on my car back in September. So I took my e46 in for a repair knowing that it was gonna cost me some good money the subframe was torn out and needed to be re-welded. I also needed a new driveshaft, flex disc and some tranny mounts all because BMW didn't do a great job of engineering that area of the car. All I can say they hooked me up at a fair price no doubt the work was great couldn't ask for better quality labor only down side was there was a scratch on my bumper that I didn't even really complain about cuz I could careless at the time cuz the car actually felt new to drive again. but the fact I asked to have an alignment and they did it but the car pulled lefts still! and they didn't even really tell me why or note it in the repair order that it couldn't even be fixed and still pulls left to this day. I haven't gone back cuz that's really small stuff but would I go back? Of course I would. The only thing I would just ask them why they didn't put on the repair order that they can't align the car which another shop has already told me can't be fixed but its cool if u need a repair there are the guy to go too! They would hve gotten 5 stars if they could have fixed the alignment or tell me that they couldn't have fixed it but still they did a great job on everything else. read more

I was referred to Bullet by a patient of mine. He said he takes all his BMWs there after the warranty period ends. And he's good friends with Mickey the owner there. I went in b/c my SMG paddle shifter on my M3 was stuck. They took it in and fixed the problem right in front of my eyes. Literallly within 15 minutes I was in and out. And they didn't charge me a dime. I would 've expected the whole "diagnostic fee" and minimum labor $ from any place (especially when it comes to BMWs), but these guys didn't charge a thing. Had them do a pre point inspection done on the M3 I was about to purchase. They quoted me over the phone $110- After the car was done being inspected mickey (the owner) told me that the car was in great shape and had no problems. The inspection was so easy cause the car was in great shape, that it didn't take long, so he only charged me $40.00!!! I thought that was really cool and honest of him to do so in only charging me what time they actually used to inspect, rather then a flat fee. This is by far the best service I have experienced, they lent me a loaner car, they finished my car in half a day except for a part they have to specifically order for my car and they even fixed a few small things that were wrong with my car without even charging a cent for it... I will never go to another place with my BMW, I would and will recommend them to absolutely anyone who has a BMW. this review is long over due... about a month ago my bmw 328i was making a loud whistling noise. I took it to crevier bmw since that was the only place i would go to get my car serviced. this last fix almost literally gave me a heart attack. crevier wanted to charge me over $2400 to get my car fix. i did some research and came across bullet performance on yelp. being a female and not knowing anything about vehicles i was afraid of getting taken advantage of. however, after talking to peter he made me rest assured my car can be fix at less than half the price i was previously quoted for at bmw. they were great, honest and was able to get the job done in less than a day. glad i found Bullet Performance and this will only be the place i'll take my car too. thank you read more

Fantastic! Thank you Brett for being professional, thorough and most of all HONEST. I must share with you what happened to me in an effort to stop this from happening to any of you. The warning light went on in my MINI Clubman telling me there was a problem with the headlight. Took it in into Crevier MINI to have it checked out. They told me part of the headlight had melted and I needed a new headlight, not just a bulb. Quote - $557.46. They also told me the oil filter housing was leaking and needs replaced or the car would overheat. Quote $1,190.03. I told them thank you, I would pick up the car (minus the repairs). I promptly took the car to Bullet for a second opinion. The headlight bulb was burnt out, nothing burned. Replacement bulb - $67.00. And....NO leaks were found in the oil filter housing. Picture this: I'm standing at the Irvine BMW dealership service department facing a $2500 bill to get my Z4 repaired after AAA brought in my car, 2 days ago....due to overheating. This dealership has just charged me $360 to replace my battery!!! It took them 2 days to inspect my car as they couldn't go forward without a new battery..? I work in Santa Ana and usually take it to this dealer and one day at lunch time my m5 was jerking to shift from gear to gear. Pulled over called AAA to haul it there. Long story short, received call from my service man there and told me I need to replace clutch & flywheel to a tune of almost $5,000! Decide to get second opinion from Bullet. Looking for a professional BMW repair shop? Look no further. My local BMW service shop mechanic knicked the timing chain rail on my BMW 740iL when replacing some leaking gaskets. He did not have the equipment to repair the rail (the front of the engine needs to be removed). He recommended Bullet Performance. Luckily Mickey had a complete set of repair parts for the E38 engine. He quoted me a fair price and his team did an outstanding job of rebuilding the engine. After having a new engine installed by Crevier BMW on my E60 M5 the power supply was not tightened down properly by the mechanics in the ''M" division, it simply just came loose. I am glad I took my car to Bullet because the guys there are straight shooters. Mike was extremely, extremely helpful. I recently visited this shop for the first time because my car was officially out of warranty. BMW recommended a couple replacements and racked my bill up to about $2400. I came into this shop, Mike did a full diagnostic on the car, and gave me his honest and unbiased opinion. He told me exactly what was necessary immediately, and what could wait. He also answered all my questions without hesitation and did not have a bad attitude about any of the services I declined to receive. I ended up getting everything that BMW had recommended to me in addition to a couple other services, and my bill was less than half of what they had quoted me.
