After driving around for a while, looking for a place to have lunch, I stumbled upon Bullocks. I have to be honest... I wasn't expecting much from it. But it certainly surprised me. The atmosphere was solid, the employees were very friendly and helpful. And to top it all off... the food. The food was pretty damn good. I picked up the Single Cheeseburger, as well as the Fried Chicken Lunch Special. All in all, it cost me about $12 for: -2 Chicken Thighs -1 Order of French Fries -1 Diet Coke (Free Refills) -1 Order of Green Beans -1 Single Cheeseburger w/ Toppings -1 Order of Potato Chips Everything save for the Chicken Thighs was fantastic. They were alright... not the best I've had, and certainly far from the worst. Overall, I'd go again... I really want to try their Unlimited Salad/Soup (and at less than $10, I was tempted the first time around). read more

Great ol' fashioned salad buffet. The buffet is great, good variety of items, always fresh. Had red crab soup the other day, surprisingly very good. As good as I've had in a long time, and on the buffet....three bowls later.... Another commendation, they have the absolutely best raisin bread. We always grab 3-4 on our way out to give to relatives when we go. Too bad I'm gluten free, their raisin bread is one of the things that I miss the most...honestly. the fried chicken is good, have had some of the other menu items, they were ok, nothing to write about. Decor is nothing fancy. Only thing is they don't come around to pick up plates very often, or have a place to put dishes. Always get confused what to do and the plates add up quick. Enjoy. read more

My main complaint is the price. Paid $59+ for three chicken dinners. That price included choice of potato, roll, soft drinks and salad bar but the mediocre salad bar doesn't justify the cost. The chicken was hot and tasty but a little too salty even for this salt lover. Price includes free drink refills but there was a constant line at the cashier (noon Sunday) so we didn't bother. Everything is cafeteria style. You order your food, seat yourself, then wait for your number to be called. Not a bad place and if the prices were reasonable I would rate it higher. read more

Very sadly disappointed. I cant remember the last time I havd to use A1 for my steak. Over cooked flavorless hocky puck. A shame for a delmonico steak. Looked more like a flat iron steak that you would contry fry. Mashed potatos were instant and not very good. Salad bar was ok. The only reason I am giving this place 1 star is becuase the vegetable soup was stellar. As we walked out no one had steak on their plates....maybe we should have checked out peoples food on the way in. I might come back and try the fried chicken....but it will be a while. So much wanted to love this place. The shrimp dinner was yummy and the fries were ok but it was way overpriced $18.00 for five shrimp and fries. But it comes with the salad bar right? Oh damn what a dissapointment. The salad bar just does not taste good or fresh. The cheese hunk must have sat out for a while because it was very very soft and cheddars not good that way. The special breads are unappetizing as they are still in plastic bags and just not appetizing. The entree on the bar was disgusting corn beef and cabbage, yuck. The rest of the very weirdly shaped bar is not to hot either and not kept filled very well. I will try again as maybe the bar was just not great that night because as I said this is the kind of local family place I want to love. read more

We entered and were not greeted because there was no waiting staff. You get your own tray, napkins, fork, knife etc and order what you want. Pay upfront. Food were very pricey. Most reviews about this place are full of lies. I ordered chopped steak, it costs $14.95 and it doesn't come with baked potato or sides. I paid baked potato for 2.75 dollars but you pay extra for butter and sour cream. Not only that, three bucks for a soda. They said that it came with the salad bar but it was not, you pay 6 dollars if you want it. For the family of 6, I paid 88 dollars. I get no service at the table and all food are not up to the par. If you want to refill your soda, go yourself. The place is very out of dated, small table, can't fit two trays so we got rid of trays. The salad bar needs some improvement, soups are overcooked because they were sitting for hours, vegetables and pasta were not holding together. Tomatoes are rotting and grapes got soft and wrinkled. No thousand island dressing. Only good things I can say about this place is that they have good fried chicken. Don't come here unless you want to throw your money on medieval foods with no service, be my guest. Will not visit again, they should not have any star at all. The place should rename as cafeteria instead of restaurant. Very Misleading!!! Owners should be shamed of themselves. read more

Not sure how this place stays in business--food is way too salty, tastes like it comes out of a can, and is WAY overpriced.Unfriendly staff--they will smile, but do nothing to show a customer any appreciation, or try to be helpful. They act like they want your money, then want you out of the way. They don't want to have to see you or deal with you again. Their salad bar is awful; very few vegetables, overly salty prepared salads, a few fruits, terrible soups, and some what-is-it? BBQ smothered in an extremely salty sauce. You order like a cafeteria, they don't serve you, or do much cleaning. I don't know too much about their baked goods--only had a bit of plain, mediocre bread from the salad bar. Don't know about their butcher shop, but from the unbelieveably fatty steak my husband had and their very high prices, I can't imagine that's worth anything, either. Went here on a Friday night around 6:30. No lines, fast service. Overall, the place was ok. I thought it might be more like Golden Corral, but it was not. First, beware that the parking lot entrance and exit are both near a small hill, so you better be really careful pulling in and out. The parking lot itself is really tight. The place wasn't busy, so I was able to park my f150 extended ok, but I know that some of the diagonal spots would have been tough if the lot were full. Very tight, watch it. The menu is pretty simple. Looks like most people get the salad bar who is $10 for unlimited soup and salad. They also had hot items like BBQ chicken, cabbage, and carrots & peas on the salad bar. Also several breads, fruits, and slice your own cheese. Dinners were around $15 ( and up) and seemed reasonably priced. We got the fried chicken dinner which comes with the salad bar, plus we got a second salad bar. We shared the fried chicken which we barely touched because we ate so much on the salad bar. Staff was friendly, place seemed clean, overall experience was ok. There is a toy train running around the ceiling which my son would probably like if we ever take him. I have only 2 complaints. If you use the rest room, especially kids, be careful. The hot water in the men's room is burn-your-hand hot. My fault for not paying attention, but it got hot real quick. Second is the salad bar layout. Like I said, it looks like most people get the salad bar. This place is pretty big, but their salad bar would fit in my kitchen at home...and my kitchen isn't that big. The items are also not in the best order. They had messy salad items next to fruit, so there was a lot of spillover. Things were pretty clean except for the old guy who came back for more md crab soup with his used bowl. Yuck. That brings me to the plate/bowl issue. Why are the plates and bowls near the cash register? When there is a line for paying, you have a hard time even getting to them. This almost discourages people from getting clean plates before going for refills. Very awkward and not smart. Not sure if they are trying to discourage refills or save dish washing time and money, but the practice is terrible. If you have an all u can eat place, put the plates and bowls next to the food. They had the space on the side counter, so I'm not sure why they didn't use it. Refills for drinks were also at the counter, but they were slightly more accessible than plates/bowls. Last thing is that plate cleanup is at the end. They do not come to get dirty plates while you eat. No waiters, just bus boys. Not complaining, just letting you know not to expect someone to come clean up things while you are eating. read more

Just ate here Dec 28, 2017. On the positive side, the staff is quite friendly and helpful; the restaurant appears very clean; and, the fried chicken was very good. I thought the prices were kind of high, especially for chicken. The mashed potatoes, however, were thin and watery. They must have been instant potatoes. The coconut cream pie was just okay. And, I know it was quite cold outside, but it was cold inside, too. Most patrons were eating with their coats on ... and staff were wearing sweatshirts. I agree with another reviewer who said the booths were tight. They've raised their prices modestly from the attached menu. Roast beef dinner is @ $16.45. Their specials of the day are written on the wall behind the covered wagon. Very difficult to find and read. Ending on a positive note, their iced cinnamon rolls are very good after being heated in the microwave for a few seconds. read more

i have to disagree with Tom S. as i rather like the salad bar. Too funny as we have driven by this place for 7+ years and kept daring to enter as we realized it was cafeteria style. Stay away. Cafeteria food at sit down service prices. One of our party has had stomach trouble all evening since eating here. Baked potatoes weren't hot, soup was way too salty, fried flounder appeared to be stamped out of a machine, also not hot. Crab cakes tasted of other fish, not crab. Fried shrimp were all breading with little thin shrimp inside. Instant mashed potatoes were served with gravy from a can. Salad bar was ok, but dishes were placed too far away to reach with the 4" tongs. Will NOT be returning. If I want a meal made with food from the freezer , I'll do it at home. At least that way the food would be hot and a fraction of the cost. read more

My wife and I went there Saturday 6/15/2013 for diner. We ordered received our ticket with the number 410. We went to the salad bar, I got two chicken thighs in sauce and a bowl of soup. Order placed at 5:34 PM. At about 6:10 Pm my wife went up to check on my meal, the lady told her it would be two more minutes. Ten minutes later my wife had finished eating. I went up and asked for my money back. The man said it will be done in two minutes. I said really I gave him my order number and he said I don't have an order for 410. He put his hands into the trash can and pulled out a stack of order slips and no 410 was in there. I told him again I want my money back. He asked me if I had salad and I said soup and two chicken thighs. He walked up to the girl at the register and whispered "just charge him for the salad". I asked him if he was really going to charge me $4.99 when he screwed up my meal. He told me it was my wife's fault for not standing there and waiting. Great way to run a business, screw up an order, make me wait for 50 minutes and then to make it up to me he charges me for a salad bar. By the way, he never washed his hands and when I left he was still handing out trays of food. read more

I don't know why they are still in business other than the butcher shop next door. The place is like a mediocre cafeteria and the employees have the attitude to match. I had lunch there yesterday with a group or friends and my meal was awful. The cashier was just going through the daily routine, and the cook behind her was obviously in no mood to work either judging by the look on his face and unfriendly looks at the customers lining up. It's noon, what do you expect to happen in a restaurant? I wish I could have left and gone elsewhere. Apparently, you are to go sit and wait until your number is called to come back and get your food. I made the mistake of standing near the food pickup area. A young woman came out to the counter and asked what the problem was, I replied I was waiting for my order. So I went and sat down. My friends had the fried chicken which was apparently delicious. I decided on a 1/4 bacon cheeseburger since this supposed to be a big farm fresh beef place. What a mistake. The bacon was undercooked and the burger was a tiny crunchy hockey puck. You'll get a better burger at any fast food place or Denny's. If you want anything with your meal, it's extra. At least the girl offered me water since I can't have coffee, tea or sugared beverages. NO side of any kind is included unless you'd like to pay upwards of $12 of a dinner style meal. Mayo comes in a little packet. To add insult to injury, while we were eating, two kitchen workers walk past us with a beautifully prepared platter of cheeseburgers for the market next door which DOES NOT sell hot food. So employees get better than a customer? So I wasted one hour of my take home pay to eat here. I work in retail customer service and this place really needs some lessons but they've been here so long that I guess they don't have to care. read more

This was one of the worst places I'd ever eaten in! I cook almost everyday and really wanted to get a fair to good home-cooked meal out and was definitely disappointed! The place was dank, not clean looking, although young girls at checkout were nice it didn't make up for the unpleasant surroundings, terrible tasting baked potato, which had a burned/scorched flavor, the fish seemed like it was from boxed frozen and heated in the oven, the salad bar was horrible and the coconut cake was the worst I'd ever eaten!!! As I paid for my food I happen to look in kitchen area and saw an elderly woman eating her own food over food prepared for public consumption; while food was falling from her mouth and hands! I noticed a tall hunched over man coming from kitchen area looking quite dirty; he noticed utensils had fallen from holders to counter-top but instead of taking the fallen utensils the had fallen on counter-top to kitchen to rewash [with bare hands] he put them back into the utensil holder for customers to use. The employees were pleasant but the conditions of your restaurant were deplorable and the food was horrible! I believe today because many people are so used to consuming fast foods [and some are just too lazy to cook] they are willing to eat anywhere and food prepared anyway they can get it. It's a shame this place has held such a high rating and shows just how many people are easy to fool.
