Having decided to get an e bike, did a lot of research and visited every bike shop in area. Lloyd was so helpful and very knowledgeable. He was patient with all my questions, took his time and I never felt rushed. I purchased one of his bikes the Pace 500, and when it arrived in a couple of days he made sure everything was adjusted for my fit, and even swapped out the seat for a seat that worked much better for me. I know if I have any problems I can take it to his shop and it will be handled. The price on this e bike was much less than some I was looking at. Talk about a complete lack of customer service, stopped in to start looking for a road bike to begin training and asked to get fitted to see what size I would need. The employee behind the counter asked me if I had the money for the bike. I replied no not at this time but...before I could even finish my sentence, he says..come back when you have some money. I got my other bike worked on there, bought a spare tube and other parts and had great service. I will never shop there for anything ever again. What can I say about Bumstead's!? When I went to their shop I was shopping around for a good entry level Fixie....I was helped by Garrison, the main guy to talk to about Fixies and he sold me on a ride that I absolutely love, The Skinny Benny! The service was great, right to the point and all the info I needed to know....they also put together riding groups every other week for ppl to come out and ride/hang out with other riders. I'd definitely recommend others to visit Bumstead's shop, I especially like how they've been around for ages, that really tells you a lot about a company and the quality of service. If we can score a negative star i would. My husband went to get a tube when telling the guy our 14 year old son was just getting in to biking he told us we bought a Wal-Mart bike which in fact it is not. And then was of no help to us. My husband has built bikes since his early 20's and has always gotten parts here. So after today's experiance we will no longer go somewhere that has such terrible customer service. Its one thing to be rude to me or my husband but to my child no thank you!! We will take our business else where. No returns tgey sell you bikes that arent even assembled correctly bought 2 bikes one for me n my gf my chain keeps falling off n her brakes arent even adjusted correctly i was almost killed brcause of my chain falling off in traffic... I brought my daughters bike here to get fixed on a Saturday and they looked at it and gave me a decent estimate which was nice. They told me the bike should be ready on Tuesday because they had to order a part, which was fine. The part that upset me was I came on a Wednesday to pick it up but it wasn't ready and it upset me because they should have called and said it was going to take a little longer,they are said it would be ready on friday but they called me Thursday afternoon and said it was ready to pick up which is a great. I picked up the bike and it was perfect! The guy even gave me a discount for the inconvenience and lack of a phone call. All in all I will most definitely be back here for all my bike needs. The best! I've been going to Lloyd at Bumsteads since I was a teenager and it was part of his father's shop in downtown Ontario. Customer service is top notch. His experience and knowledge of bikes is excellent. He always takes care of the customer without trying to oversell them products they don't need. The other employees that work there, including his son, Garrison are friendly and always very helpful. It's not the biggest shop, but he can get just about anything you may need while still having a good selection of bikes, from road, mountain, fixie, bmx, hybrid, or cruisers. Hands down, best bike shop ever. Everyone at Bumsteads is very friendly and professional. The help I got aided me in the purchase of my Trek 3500. And the best part was the price. I later found out my friend and his brother bought the same bike at a shop in Rancho. Same features except I got a trunk rack, head and tail light set, lock set and free bottle and bottle holder. I have been to every bike shop in the area, there is no better out there!!! I was looking for a specific Nirve Bicycle, they did not have it in stock, but they ordered it and got it in the showroom within 2 days just so my wife could look at it and make sure she liked it. Through the years I have bought a few from him and just last month I picked up my brand new 2012 Trek Madone 4.7! The owner gave me a good fix for my bike at a good price and EXPLAINED the problem, also showing me the tune ups I'll need for the future. The staff even helped me with my loading my bike in my car. Love this place. Not only are they amazing when it comes to their bike knowledge but their customer service is thee best I've ever experienced in any business. Ex: I was on my way to the shop and my son falls asleep. I called the shop told them the problem I had with one of the light kits. I then told them I was unable to go inside the shop because my son had just fallen asleep and they took their service to the next level... We went in to get my son's gears adjusted on his Schwinn mountain bike and they did it in a day for $15. I was very happy with the polite customer service. We saw a cool Trek mountain bike and my son tried it out in the parking lot and loved it. I went on line and found that they had the best price on that model anywhere in the surrounding area so we went back and bought it. They threw in a water bottle and kick stand for the price. Great family owned bike shop here in Ontario. Friendly and helpful staff helped me get the parts I needed for my girlfriend's bike. Among other things, I was looking for some special handlebars. they did not have them in stock but they immediately offered to order them and let me know they would be in within a day or two.
