Bunsik Nara is a solid spot for casual Korean dishes. While you wouldn't come here to eat a healthy meal, it will be a hearty one! My favorite is the tonkatsu, especially their sauce! The sauce is unique and a little different from Japanese style sauce but really hits the spot. The service is attentive and accommodating to kids as well.

There was a lot to like about our first experience. Above all, everything on the combo plate was served at the right coldness and hotness. The pork katsu was so tender that each bite felt as light as clouds. I could've done without the fried egg on top of the hamburg steak, which really stands on its own. The iceberg lettuce for the salad had the perfect crisp and chill and the unidentified dressing brought it to another level. The macaroni and sweet corn salad were definitely welcome but were both a tad soupier than I would like. Staff was efficient and friendly although you would expect that in a dining room of just for people. An overall really solid first experience, so I'll have this joint on my radar for a future outing.

Relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. Servings were bountiful. And everything we ordered were wonderful! Cheesy Tteokbokki was really cheesy... and will satisy your cheese-pull pleasure. Chicken was tender and tasty. Fish tonkatsu was not fishy and breading was crunchy. Odeng was fulfilling and kimmari was enjoyable! They also gave us free lettuce salad. I believe the owner might have recognized it was our first time there and offered us some free drinks - my company got sodas for each of us. I would say my experience here today is with high ROI.

The portions are HUGE! Bunsik Nara served a wide selection of Korean comfort food. And did I mention the portions are huge? lol The kimbap rolls are gigantic and you could easily share one between two people. The tteokbokki wasn't my favorite because it was way too sweet. It had some sort of fruity after taste that threw me off. Warning: do not get the Diablo jjamppong if you cannot handle spice. It is by far THE most spiciest soup I've ever tried. (As a reference: I can handle Samyang Buldak noodles just fine.) I even poured some water into it to dilute it but nothing helped. With that said though, the noodles were cooked perfectly and it had so much seafood and vegetables. (I later went back to try the regular jjamppong and the soup was great! Spicy but not diablo spicy.)

I thought the pricing for quick Korean bites was a little on the higher end for casual dining - but there's a reason- THEYRE BIG BOY sized. Totally wish I took a gander at everyone else's order before we ordered 3 separate entrees and a roll. Needless to say, if you're looking to fuel up- this is the place to go. I noticed they also do a LOT of takeout/catering-like orders. This spot ideal for groups or ur gym bro/sis trying to carbo load. The food is quite good. Banchan- iceberg lettuce w sesame dressing, kimchi, pickled radish but with a cinnamon-like taste to it Bimbimbap- IDK why there was iceberg lettuce in here too, otherwise satisfactory! Bulgogi Ttekbboki - was a ginormous gravy boat (def sharable); flavorful, filling Chicken Cheese Katsu- HUGE, crispy, cheesy- amazing. Sharable and should be for ur poor arteries. Tuna Kimbap- large and has imitation crab inside* Staff is super nice and welcoming. Even checked into make sure I mixed up the bimbimbap right.

I was a big fan of this place and left feeling stuffed and satisfied! We got 3 dishes (1 combo, 1 tteokbokki, 1 squid and pork plate) and it was probably enough for 4 people, so we definitely overordered but everything looked so good! My favorite was the tteokbokki with fish cake. I also surprisingly loved the salad with the sauce they served for free at the beginning. The squid/pork was too spicy for me but I thought the squid was delicious. The combo came with really tasty green onions garnished on top of fried chicken. The chicken was special, as was the fried rice which had a hint of a seafood taste. I also appreciated the macaroni salad in the combo plate. The cream pasta was a bit too heavy for my liking, but it was good overall. Well worth the value, huge servings, busy place that seems to be popping in the midst of all these other Korean restaurants.

Some of the best padak (fried chicken with green onion) in the world. So moist and juicy and the sauce they serve it with is soooo good. We also ordered the cheese tteokbokki which was a huge portion. One of the servers came around and mentioned that she thinks our order didn't get enough tteok so she gave us some extra (so kind... great service). The kimbap was super tasty and freshly made as well. Super casual ambiance for a snack/quick meal. Prices have gone up in the past few years but portions are still huge so can't really complain!

    Shrimp tempura kimbop

Ten of us went to the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch, and the staff was able to quickly accommodate us by putting together tables. As expected, we ordered a ton of things -- my brother and I shared Combo A, which comes with tonkatsu, Hamburg steak, and a choice between tomato sauce or cream spaghetti, and the shrimp tempura kimbop. The table also got tteokbokki and padak (fried chicken with scallions) to share. My brother and I frequent the restaurant at least once every few months, and I would say that any of the Combos are a good choice if you want to try a bunch of different food items. There are also Combos that come with different katsu and fried rice instead of the spaghetti. It was our first time trying the shrimp tempura kimbop, and while I wasn't expecting the spicy mayo drizzle, it didn't hurt the dish in any way. Tteokbokki was tasty but too spicy for a Korean American who does not do well with overly spicy food. Padak was excellently fried, and I appreciated that the server purposely served it a little later so that we would have some time to eat each of our main dishes and clear the table before digging into another dish. In fact, service was fantastic at the restaurant -- all of the servers were friendly and very attentive to our needs, despite the fact that they were pretty busy. As for ambiance, I love the decorations of Minions on the wall, as well as the latest Kpop hits playing in the background. The restaurant also has a display case of various anime figurines that is interesting to see. Overall, I definitely recommend Bunsik Nara if you want a wide variety in the selection of Korean food with great service.

Best comfort food when craving something fatty and spicy! I think the rice cakes are make of flour not rice (밀떡) so it's very chewy yum Katsu was so good -- that sauce was delightful too. Usually katsu sauce is too strong with a slight BBQ flavor but this one was not overpowering at all! Seemed homemade Server was so friendly and sweet! Great vibes

EXCEPTIONAL Korean food. HoLlLLYYY this place is amazing!! TRY THIS OUT for some great huge portion snack meals. Staff is super friendly and portions are MASSIVE. Quality was also insane!! All 6 of us were soooo happy with everything we ordered. Also, the banchan HIT soooo good. Kimchi, lettuce, and one other dish that was phenomenal. My mouth is watering thinking of this meal. Photos included to see the sweetness in quantity of everything. 17273920/10 we will be back. Ambiance was cute. It definitely felt like it was meant for families and kids specifically!

Soba and tonkatsu, and cheese kimchi fried rice
    Wen Na Z.

Bunsiknara has an extensive menu with a variety of comfort dishes. My fiancé ordered their kimchi fried rice with cheese, and I ordered their soba with tonkatsu off their summer special menu. We were absolutely not expecting the huge portion sizes! The soba was delightfully chewy and paired well with the chilled dipping sauce and the katsu was fried perfectly and didn't taste oily. Would totally comeback to try some of the other dishes!

Portion size here is massive!! Come hungry and you won't be disappointed. Food here was mediocre - nothing special to call out. Here's what we got: - sweet potatoes tonkatsu 3.5/5: def recommend anything fried here! And the sweet potato version is something more unique compared to other bunsiks - combo c 4/5: like I mention above combo c all gives you fried chicken and it's great that they use dark meat chicken which makes it extra tender; spaghetti & fried rice nothing worth calling out - combo f 3/5: the galbi delicious but portion for meat here was disappointing compared to the amount of kimchi fried rice they give you ( about 3 portion size ) to 1 portion of meat ratio. & kimchi fried rice didn't taste great which an odd smell to it - squid & pork 3.5/5: tasty squid & pork but too much onions here

The high ceilings and black color theme give it an elevated feel. Finally got to try this place I heard so much about on a Christmas day with wife because it was…read morefrigid and we wanted a warm bowl of Korean "tang"(soup). Finding parking is quite challenging given the location on a busy commercial street, so make sure you can come earlier than meal time to have better luck. They have waiting seats OUTSIDE so yeah I suppose it's quite popular at times. 1. ATMOSPHERE (3/5) - This location is small and it's pretty straightforward place. But I still found it cozy, with decent amount of seating (I think it can handle 15-20 max) and little details like wall with wood ledges and coat hangers were a nice touch. Seating was comfortable, though we tied our down parkas around our waist as another party had hung theirs on our side of coat hangers. 2. FOOD (4/5) - We dove right in to try their famous gejang (~Korean raw crab "ceviche") and ordered two of their namesake gookbap (rice with soup) to see how they are. Here's how it went down. - Gejang (App, $20, 2/5) - I had a hunch that on a holiday perhaps I should not order this, but my craving for succulent crab flesh be damned, I went for it and unfortunately, the meat was not well-marinated as I had feared. Gejang is a dish that has to sit in the complex soy-based pickling liquid for some time... and if restaurant is too busy churning them out or if it's slow season they won't do this properly. It not only wasn't fully marinated, I think the marinade was off because the spiciness was way out of balance and was overpowering. Perhaps knowing that it didn't have enough time to marinade the kitchen put extra diced jalapenos to compensate? Because that's exactly what it tasted like - you can't fool me. I tried to salvage the dish by asking a confused-looking girl server for some sugar, but yeah, can't un-do the overpowered marinade with sprinkling of sugar. This was really unfortunate as I was looking forward to a good bite. - Ahjae Gookbap (Main, $18, 5/5) - Thankfully, their namesake gookbap was spot-on to salvage our dining. Generous slabs of succulent beef on the bone and off the bone was swimming in a hearty beef/bone broth that tasted clean and focused. Portion was good, and can I say their banchan of fish cake moochim & unfermented kimchi & ggakdugi(radish kimchi) simply ROCKS? That was some serious deliciousness and dare I say value at $18 at a day and age where hamburger costs over $10! You win at life by ordering this! 3. SERVICE (4/5) - Our server girl was attentive and food came out early on though later it was a bit hard to get her attention promptly. We found ourselves putting hands in the air, and wavin' like we don't care... for a little while. They provide gloves & metal bin for gejang which was a nice touch for people to keep their fingers clean. One thing I'd like to mention: Plastic cup they served water in was all chipped on the rim so we instead went and got water from their hot & cold water dispenser which had metal cups (as many korean restaurants do). I'd suggest them to replace all these old plastic cups with metal ones for health reasons. Overall, we were satisfied with our meal. I'd chock up the gejang mishap to it being a holiday. I hope chef was just off with the marinade that day because I am a certified gejang pro(I catch and make my own) and that balance ain't it. But I will give it another try during warmer month and we'll definitely be back to try sooyook moochim, oyster jeon & other great soup offerings.

Always a must-get here. 2) ddukbaegi bulgogi (4.5/5) - Thinly sliced prime marinated beef ribeye casserole with rice cake and glass noodle and mushroom served in a sizzling hot pot. Really flavorful and so good to have on a cold day. 3) ahjae ppyo jjim (4.5/5) - Braised prime beef meat bones in soy reduction with carrots, radish, dates, chestnut, rice cake and glass noodles. We got non-spicy. It came in a HUGE bowl. Definitely meant to be shared with a group. Took leftovers home and it was still yummy the next day mixed with knife-cut noodles I had at home.
