We made a 7:30pm reservation on 04/16 to celebrate our anniversary, and from the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional. We showed up a little early, but our table was already ready at 7:10, complete with a beautiful rose and a card wishing us a happy anniversary, such a thoughtful touch!! Our server was incredibly kind and attentive, and the manager Jorge made us feel genuinely welcomed. To start, we ordered the seared scallop special and the corn soufflé both were absolutely incredible. For our main courses, we had the pappardelle en rosa and the lomo saltado, and they did not disappoint. The key to enjoying the lomo saltado is getting a bit of everything in each bite, the fries, onions, peppers, rice, and meat. The combination is truly out of this world. My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our way to Morro Bay. The service was very attentive and pleasant. The ambiance was nice and the bathrooms were very clean. Scallops were outstanding. 3 Large, sweet scallops and cooked perfectly. Vegetables platter was good but really small. 2-3 slices of each vegetable. For entrees we ordered the shrimp pappardelle and the pappardelle en Rosa. Shrimp pappardelle was good not great. Lacking flavor. The pappardelle en Rosa was bad. Sauce tasted like canned chef boyardee. Would not recommend. I would go back for the scallops, they were that good, but that's it. Meal was below average. read more

My husband and I really enjoyed spending our Valentine's Day 2026 dinner at Sabor & Sazon. The restaurant was packed, as expected, but we did not have to wait when we arrived as we already had a reservation. The dining and bar area is in one large open space, so it was loud and lively. The restaurant is mostly made up of moveable tables and chairs, however one wall has banquet table seating. The hardwood floors, flat walls, and high ceiling with minimal sound absorption panels really created a loud space (not a quiet and intimate night). The service was wonderful. We were welcomed promptly by our server and the assistant waiter brought bread & butter immediately after the welcome. I ordered a glass of wine and my husband had a lovely cocktail. We started with the Grilled Calamari - a delicious medley of scallops, shrimp, and calamari. Then we mixed to the savory Rack of Lamb - lamb with a red wine sauce and served with asparagus and mashed potatoes. And then we ended the evening with the decadent Tarta de Chocolate that was accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream - a must order. During the evening, the son of Chef Jorge introduced himself and checked in on our experience - such a nice young man. We did a walk-in on a Sunday evening and we were seated no problem. After a busy weekend I wanted some comfort food so I ordered the osso buco with risotto and it was fantastic! Perfectly balanced and prepared and the risotto was excellent with it. It was the best ossobuco I've ever had. The barramundi was also great. Service has always been top notch. We started our weekend trip here at Sabor & Sazon and it was incredible. We arrived at 7:45pm for Friday night dinner. We were greeted and seated I immediately. I'm not going to lie, because of the name and having paella on the menu, I was expecting more Spanish food on the menu and less Italian. We ordered the paella and the squid ink pasta special. The paella had so much seafood and tasted great. The grains of rice used did make the paella a bit mushier than authentic paella but that's asking a lot for Paso Robles. The squid ink pasta I wish was in their regular menu it was creamy and loaded with shrimp. The pasta had a very good bite to it. For the rest on the weekend, when we mentioned this restaurant to the locals everyone said it was their favorite restaurant in Paso! read more

We made reservation at 8:15 but ended up joining waitlist for 7:30 instead and got bar seating which we highly recommend! The bartender and our waiter, Albany was amazing! He was so fun and nice. Me and my friend shared the grilled calamari and a seafood paella. They served bread with this amazing dip; not sure what it was but it was soooo good - flavorful and creamy! The grilled calamari was seriously delicious and we killed the dish. The calamari was so tender and flavored to perfection. They had generous amounts over arugula for a warm salad like dish. The complimentary bread was amazing dipped in the sauce too. The seafood paella was also so good. Slight char at bottom with the perfect texture and flavors. Super hearty and seafood forward; tasted like the ocean lol (in a good way). Albany was so nice and gave us a flan dessert on the house because my friend kept asking him what every dessert was when the kitchen brought it out haha. We visited here on 02/14/2026 at 8pm for a party of two. This was our first time at this restaurant. The restaurant is casual; however, yet classy at the same time. It is on the smaller side; however, holds quite a few people. We arrived about 20 minutes earlier than our reservation and the host made sure that she was able to accommodate our request and seat us early. Our server was very friendly, and one of the owners even made an appearance and made sure everything was going smoothly. We decided to share the Grilled Calamari and the Rack of Lamb. Both were quite good. For dessert, we shared the Tarte de Chocolate, which was excellent and we thought was the highlight of the meal. Our waters were refilled without asking and plates were cleared promptly. The calamari was very tender. There were no chewy pieces and the sauces were tasty. I had the Lomo Saltado. It was delicious and the perfect portion size. The fries were crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The Sausage Fettuccini had just the right amount of spice. The sausage was plentiful and delicious. The fettuccini was housemade and cooked to perfection. This was our first visit here. Yes, it's absolutely all that. Having read all these 5 Star reviews, I was drawn, nay, driven to visit -- and am very glad to have done so. Made a reservation and were seated quickly inside the bustling but organized restaurant. Comfortable booth, lighting a little dim (for photos), but nice. Their phone system leaves something to be desired but that's another matter. Check out the menus, but do listen to the specials. We started with a scallop appetizer that delighted. Three sea scallops resting atop a light seemingly cream-based sauce (it wasn't on the menu). Bottom line, though, they were wonderful. I wish they were a tad hotter, but the flavors and perfect texture render my wish a quibble. We also split the Caesar Salad (Romaine lettuce, Croutons, Parmesan Cheese with Caesar Dressing). Crisp, fresh, and though mild in the anchovy flavor, still very good and perfect to share. For entrees, the lobster special was fantastic, and huge. Sitting atop a squid-ink home-made fettuccine that has also incorporated some of the lobster meat, the lobster is a dish to get excited about. Gorgeously presented, and simply delicious, bravo. Intermezzo: Special thanks to their sommelier who gave great advice when I was looking for a red to go with my entree. While I was lucky enough to snare a few bites of the lobster special, my main was the classic Peruvian dish, Lomo Saltado. Having only recently been introduced to the dish in downtown Los Angeles, I couldn't resist to try it here in a completely different setting. It, too, was delicious. Generous tri-trip (Harris Ranch Filet Mignon strips, soy sauce, ají amarillo, tomatoes) along with their French fries. The dish was great - full of flavor and substantial. The fries, oddly, missed. They were barely warm and had a dry, flaccid consistency - making me feel they had been cooked long ago. I did mention this to a server (not ours) and she asked if I'd like them re-done. I said 'sure', but nothing happened. The only other thing that struck me less than 5 Star was their phone system. About 10 minutes before our reservation, the restaurant called me about my reservation -- but for a different person. They were looking for 'Tyler'. I also found in trying to call the restaurant (for more details on the special app), nobody picks up. I've called during dining hours and the late morning. Both times, it rang forever and then a voice says the system is not set up for voicemail. Dessert is all in-house, and we adored the flan (Flan de Coco). Their homemade coconut flan is a just sweet-enough ending to a wonderfully flavorful meal. So, aside from the phone system and the fries, I'm very much in love with Sabor and Sazon. read more

What we ordered: - Corn Soufflé was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend. - Greek salad had more than just your typical feta and Kalamata olives ... my friends didn't enjoy it as much. - Chilean Seabass was paired well with the mashed potatoes and cream sauce ... my friends shared this dish and they finished (mostly) everything - Lomo Saltado filet was soooo tender. They didn't skimp on the portions either. Rice and fries were equally good. After many recommendations from locals, we attended dinner on our last night in Paso Robles. It was a full house, but we were lucky enough to grab 2 seats at the bar. The service, food, ambience was cozy, intimate, great. The bartender was fast and friendly. Nice family owned restaurant. We spoke to the son of the owner, Jorge Jr, and he was lovely. We first ordered the corn soufflé. I personally could have 5 servings on my own. Absolutely dreamy and heavenly! You have to order this!! A side of Caesar salad was hard to come by in Paso for some odd reason. It was fine, just your usual Caesar We initially ordered 2 ribeyes, but only 1 order was mistakenly put through. Which was completely fine because the ribeye was enough for my boyfriend and I to share. It was delicious and the black truffle mushroom sauce was soo good. Everything down to the veggies, and perfectly cooked. - Frutti di Mare - absolutely the BEST I've ever had anywhere. Most of the time the sauce is thin and more like a marinara at other places, but this one was so rich. Yum. - Chilean seabass - I loved that there was a crispy crust to it. That was different for me. I've only usually had it little seared, but I loved this version. - Shrimp pappardelle - the sauce is lighter than the di mare, but the pasta was Chef's kiss. The seafood paella was also excellent- the rice was infused with flavor, highlighted with clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, and squid, all with a subtle kick of red pepper. The lobster ravioli was also tasty, surprisingly delicate pasta and sauce with a bit of spice. House sangria was lovely. Here's what we noticed: -The atmosphere inside is really cozy and nice. -The menu was really broad...So many appealing items in fact that we had a hard time deciding...the input and descriptions from our server helped us make our decisions though. The wine list is extensive. - We opted for a bottle of wine, and we were able to leisurely enjoy a glass of it before ordering. And, they didn't take offense when I said I wanted to pour my own wine throughout the meal (one of my pet peeves is when servers pour the wine too quickly so you drink it faster). - Wwe started with the grilled vegetable salad to split, and our server was kind enough to alert us to the splitting charge so we just got it on one plate and served it to ourselves...Even though they did cut it in half for us. It was a wonderful salad and the warm grilled vegetables on top were special. - My wife ordered the Papperdelle en Rosa with Chicken and I opted for the daily special of Black Squid Ink Fettuccine with Seafood. Both dishes were really good, although the fettuccini was a stand out. - We opted to skip dessert after the meal, but our server brought us a complementary coconut flan, which was very yummy - The service (Kristina) was exceptional. She didn't push us too fast, but was attentive, and not overbearing at all. The side salad fresh and crispy greens and dressing was light. Nice addition. My wife had the burger. She is less adventurous than I. Did not disappoint. The meat was delicious and tender. Cooked perfectly. Great roll choice and again the veggies are super fresh. Larger sized fries on this. But steak cut but close to it. Their wine list is great! Fairly priced and the wine was at proper temps. Another win for us. The decor is understated and the restaurant overall is super clean and well Mai. Service was friendly and efficient. We really liked Sabor & Sazon and would return. In town to taste Paso Robles wines over two days. Rolled into town after a long flight and long drive from LAX. Sabor & Sazon is our first stop, dinner, after checking in to our hotel. Good menu, terrific wine list. We order a caprese salad to split, spouse orders halibut, I order the fish special (grilled red snapper with chimchurri sauce). Plus three wines by the glass. High notes: terrific service, charming staff, super friendly and competent. Caprese was excellent. My special fish was really good. I gobbled it up! Notes for improvement: I'm in Paso to taste Paso wines. The wines by the glass menu offers only one white and one red from Paso. There are another 1/1 from central coast California, but to me they are missing the point. I didn't come to Paso Robles to taste wines from nearby regions or around the globe. Even the wines by the bottle menu offered few Paso wines. Go with a strength and offer Paso wines by the glass! Spouse's halibut was ok, we didn't finish it. Not sure it was fresh, and the sauce was pedestrian. Total bill w tax & tip $180, that's for 1 salad appetizer, two entrees, and three glasses of wine. So $90/person. In May 2025 we had a late lunch at Sabor & Sazón. Their burger was so good that I am still thinking about it! March 2026: Dinner seating at the bar -- we felt fortunate to get in on a Friday, as it was bustling and tables were full. Our meals were outstanding (I had bandeja paisa), and we were treated extra-specially with cleverly-made cocktail shots and flan. Chef Jorge came out from the kitchen to greet us too. No burgers currently on the dinner menu, but it's a guarantee we will return.
