This Burg and Barrel location is great, just like the one up in old Overland Park. This review is a mix of multiple visits instead of any particular one. Opting for anything other than a burger should be illegal, but some folks swear by the fried fish. All of the appetizers are high quality, though slow your roll on the fried shrooms or you'll burn your mouth. The "My girlfriend isn't hungry" is more than a cute suggestion... it's basically a perfect kids meal or a great add on if you're a bodybuilder. I've eaten The Burg since early 75th street days. They don't always execute well in Leawood, so I took a long break, but pleased to report the burger was very good tonight! We ordered online and picked it up in person. We got the baby Bella burger with Cajun fries and a blue cheese burger with bacon and fries. We both had Big Pig sandwiches. The portion of fries was nice and the sandwich was large. Sadly, we didn't find the sandwiches to be all that great. Mine seemed to be less flavorful than the other, but both were just huge cakes of fried batter on a tough slice of pork loin. The batter didn't have much seasoning in it. It just tasted like fried flour. The mustard sauce couldn't stand up to all that breading. I've had a lot of tendloin sandwiches in my lifetime, but this is not one I'll go back for. The prices were good. The service was good. Food was a little slow coming out, for it being not busy but maybe what we ordered is something they don't keep prepped. I have been to Burg and Barrel twice now. I remember my first experience being pretty positive. The Nachos Grande was solid and there are plenty of good beer options. My second visit was not so great. I do not like to do negative reviews, but the experience really turned me off from wanting to go again. The highlight of the meal was the onion rings. Those were really good. The tots on the loaded spuds were a bit soggy and lacked the crunch you would expect from a good tot. I had the chicken tenders for my meal. They were SO salty. The salt was way overpowering and really made it hard for me to continue eating. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing or it was just a mishap? In addition to the food issues, the service was below expectations on this second visit. I didn't have any issues in my first experience at Burg and Barrel. In my second visit, the server seemed extremely overwhelmed and the restaurant was not very busy at all. It looked like the server had three small tables. I had to flag down the server a couple times: once to refill my water and another time to get the check. It also was a long delay in asking for the check to actually receiving the check in order to pay. Unfortunately, my second experience here will probably be my last for a while. read more

What a great find! I have heard people speak of the burgers here and was happy to find it! Burgers and beers and sandwiches are the focus on the menu. My friends and I all ordered different burgers and were pleased with what we ordered and how they were cooked. The only negative was it felt the hamburger could be seasoned as the flavors were pretty muted with the spicy avocado I ordered. We all loved our side orders of fries, tots and sweet potato fries as well. Many microbrews on tap, and we enjoyed the flying money and their light wheat ale. Will be back! read more

Our server Hayley K. was attentive, friendly, accomodating and made sure that we had what we needed during our meal. The food is consistent and the burgers are always excellent. The tater tots are the best and always come out piping hot! The chopped salad is a staple, filling and has so many delicious ingredients. The honey balsalmic dressing is fablulous. 2nd lunch there in the last few years. The first was such a bad experience (that's a different story than included Terrible service and terrible food). So, I vowed not to go back there ever but today I had to as I was in the area and I needed a quick lunch to get back to work. I saw the sign for the lunch special 1150 for burger and fries so I thought hey that sounds like a good deal but when I sat down the waitress told me it's just a plain burger with nothing on it (except cheese) and I had to have fries no substitutions. I understand that for sure, but who wants just a plain burger with nothing on it and there's no condiments on the table either. it was just me and three other guys in the entire restaurant the entire 45 minutes I was there for lunch. I kind of wondered why that was but not really now. I had the nachos as I didn't really wanna pay $16 for a regular burger. Tonight Burg& Barrel was the site of our village at Ironhorse homeowners Spring happy hour, and it was a huge success! Our dedicated server was Kristen and the manager's name is Jace. I booked the venue more than a week in advance to discuss what I had in mind. Then this morning I stopped in around 10:30 to talk to Jace the manager she was so helpful with picking out the appetizers. We had a party of 24. The women helped me arrange tables, put table cloths on the tables which I supplied, and they set the tables with rolled silverware and lovely cloth napkin. [[HIGHLIGHT]]30 minutes prior to our event I went over to the restaurant with flowers and flower vases and they helped me set out the flowers and set the places. It looked beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Timing was perfect as our guest began to arrive. Jace ran the hot appetizers to our mini buffet table While Kristen took drink orders and delivered them. It was a very well coordinated effort on all of our parts, the food was delicious. The service was exceptional and the cost was right on our budget. PB&E burger is interesting, but it didn't quite deliver on its name.The Sriracha was a little overpowering, and I only tasted the peanut butter clearly once. The onion rings are a favorite side of mine, but they have some good fries with optional toppings. Their fried mushrooms are worth a trip here alone. Why 5 stars with a disappointing entree? It still tasted good, and the variety of burgers makes it an obvious choice for the burger lover. My wife just said, "I think this is my favorite burger place" as I wrote this. A group of guys I meet with weekly needed a spot to convene, and it happened to be over dinner time. A location central to everyone was Burg and Barrel on 151st Street and Nall Avenue. I've eaten at this restaurant numerous times, so I was surprised to see that I hadn't written a review about it for Yelp. The fact that I keep going back should let you know I have good things to say. The menu choices are varied, and I've tried several, all of which were very good. Last night I ordered the Spicy Avocado Burger... It was excellent. Our table shared an order of the beer battered onion rings, and all ordered various sides. Everyone was well pleased with his meal, which always seems to be the case when I eat here. Good food and reasonable prices. Our service last night seemed a bit slow, which is odd because it wasn't nearly as busy as it usually is when I visit. Nonetheless, our drinks were refilled, the food arrived with no errors to any of our orders, and the check was accurate when it came, so I have no real complaints about the experience. The building is nice, but not fancy-- the atmosphere comfortable and casual. It's a great choice for a good burger. I have no hesitation recommending it. read more
