A fantastic example of a great restaurant with an owner that can't get out of the way. From the reviews and ranking on Google I had very high expectations and drove from my hotel in Tukwila to see this place and overall was very disappointed. The core of this restaurant and its food is great. Fresh meat burgers, grass fed, cooked and ground to order paired with the best possible pairings. The spirit of this restaurant is phenomenal and if someone else were to come in and buy them out and maintain the same business model I could see this restaurant being massively successful as a quick service restaurant model similar to Five Guys or In-and-Out. The *idea* is great. The reality is not. I get the feeling this restaurant has been in a long decline after reading a lot of other reviews and noticing trends. Like other people have mentioned, I walked into the owner at a table using it as an office space on his laptop. Not a great look, especially with the exterior looking how it does, but it's a hole in the wall restaurant from a self made chef who started off in a food truck - best things come in small packages right? I understand not having investment capital or lease permissions to do certain things. The place is empty, just us and the owner at the table. He takes our order, but not before launching into the sales pitch about how good his food is - once again, I get it. I worked in hospitality and restaurants a long time and have been the guy trying to hype up my restaurant or catering service before. He was nice, but his sales pitch quickly turned uncomfortable as he started deriding and complaining about just about everything related to the modern world and food systems, using each grievance as an opportunity to pat himself on the back. It was uncomfortable to say the least - I came for a burger, not a Dr. Oz segment. This continued across the entire meal, and despite trying to give every polite social indicator we weren't interested in talking to him, continued to talk, even after extended periods of silence. Anyway, we ordered the Taco Burger, Luxury Mushroom Burger, and a large order of fries. To start with the good - the fries were delicious, if slightly over salted. They were crispy and well done (A personal favorite, but some may not like that) and the roasted garlic aioli was absolutely phenomenal. The cheese on the burgers was awesome and just this massive blob of pizza commercial stringy goodness. The truffle burger wasn't over-truffled, which is always a risk with truffle products and overall was really great - and the texture of their burgers is something really special. The grind is very lean and almost coarse or shredded, which makes for a really great burger that constantly reminds you that it is a ground steak, not commercial ground beef. However, the food wasn't without faults - the biggest issue was that on the bottom of the taco burger's bun there was a chunk of raw meat smashed into it - not rare or blue, but never-has-seen-fire raw pink ground beef. Not really being that scared of raw meat I didn't say anything but just tore it off and made a hole in the bun when I saw it, but having worked restaurants that's a pretty massive mistake as raw food and prepared food shouldn't be sharing surfaces without sanitizing much less touching. Beyond that, the burger itself was extremely salty, which I'm normally the type of person that likes really salty foods, but it was overwhelming with the taco seasoning just all over it. The other issue I had with it was that the toppings were just kind of indistinguishable, and the whole thing very much just tasted like straight taco seasoning - which made sense once given the context that he made the taco burger "as a joke". Also, the burger was not consistently cooked, with one side being medium and the other side being rare (the color of my husbands burger that was ordered rare) If there was a 2.5 rating, that's what I would give it. To me, a 2 is a restaurant I wouldn't voluntarily go back to but if someone wanted to or it was the only option I would and a 3 is a restaurant that I wouldn't go out of my way to go to, but would maybe stop at if I was in the area or it was convenient. This is somewhere inbetween that. I want to give them another chance and I might - but the cross contamination and horribly uncomfortable experience make me hesitant to try it again - *especially* after seeing how this owner interacts with other bad reviews on Google. read more

It's a decent burger - not bad all but definitely had better. They have a of didn't variations and I ended up settling on the addict (caramelized onions, white cheddar). I ordered two burger meals and it came out to $34. I felt like it was a bit overpriced as 1) The burgers are small and 2) you can get a can of soda instead of a fountain drink. Ordered on Uber eats. Two burgers and fries were $40, crazy expensive! We live 2 miles away and by the time the food arrived fries were completely inedible soggy mess. Burger was a chunk of undercooked beef and grease. The burger was just a ball of really pink ground beef on a roll, no seasoning. Meal was bland all around. The overwhelming theme was grease. I feel like the whole meal needed to be wrung out of all the oil. We won't be returning. Update: per google maps I am 1.7 miles, 4 stoplights and 10 minutes away. I ordered dinner this evening for my family around 5pm. I did not recieve my order until 6:30. The gentleman who took my order seemed distracted, and clearly was as he wrote my address wrong and the poor delivery girl got lost. She was pleasant and apologized, we still tipped. We open our food, the side of pickles has some sauce on it, not sure what as it was packaged separately. Our burgers were all VERY under cooked. I had specifically requested them to be well done. Okay. Now im a little irritated. I just spent $30, i shouldnt have to nuke the food, nor deal with what came next. When I called the store I explained that our food was rare. I placed an order through the Yelp app for 2 Addict Burger, 1 Roasted Garlic Mac & Cheese, 1 chocolate milkshake, and 1 peach milkshake. Order confirmed at 7:18 and the food was delivered at 8:55. I live 2 miles away from Burger Addict. The delivery person offered no apology for the 90+minute wait until I mentioned it; then said "we're really busy". The delivery person also had to call me because she "had no idea how to get into your building". There is one door. It's big and glass and dead center in the building. She was short with me and seemed irritated that she even had to deal with it. (This is after a twenty percent tip). I asked her to wait while I checked the food because I was certain the milkshakes would be melted. Spoiler: they were. She asked me what I wanted to do about it, said "maybe my manager can give a refund but I can't go back and remake them". I told her that it was ridiculous and I'd followup with Eat24/Yelp. The burgers: After getting back upstairs, the burgers were stone cold and completely undercooked. I like a good medium rare burger but these were straight up rare. Even that would have been okay if they'd been juicy and flavorful but they were dry and tasted like nothing. Incredibly bland. The milkshakes: I basically got chocolate milk and strawberry milk (yep, ordered peach and got strawberry). The flavor was great though, can't deny that. The Mac & Cheese: Smelled AMAZING and had a great flavor. Unfortunately, the pasta was so over cooked that it was basically mush. I'm super disappointed with Burger Addict and after spending $55 on this meal I feel like I got ripped off. At first I was a bit skeptical to order delivery (ubereats) but I'm happy I did! My boyfriend and I ordered a natural burger, brisket po'boy, and garlic fries. Our burger and po'boy were delicious and we will be ordering again. The fries were nothing to write home about. Serving size on the fries was huge, but they were soft, and tasted like packaged sour garlic versus fresh. Not a big deal, but most likely won't order fries again. I have worked in the restaurant business for over 25 years. I have some advice for this place if they wish to stay in business for very long. When you are located in a dive of a strip mall with minimal parking you must do all of the little things right to build your business. I hope the "award winning chef" of an owner will see this review for how it's intended and won't be offended or simply dismiss it. I spent $11.55 for a burger, fries and a can of soda. Pretty expensive. Actually very expensive for what I received. I ordered the addict burger which supposedly is 10oz of beef, addict cheese, caramelized onion and garlic aioli. I have a hard time believing that was more than 1/2 a pound of beef. Looked more like a 1/3 pound patty. It was dry, the burger addict cheese was not gooey as advertised and had a cottage cheese like appearance and texture. The fries were terrible. They say they are cooked twice for texture and then crispness. They were soggy, greasy and not crispy. I barely ate 1/2 of them. The food quality is a serious issue. Not something you should mess with when trying to build sales and a customer base. It should be your #1 priority. The employees there were not in uniform. The cashier was wearing shorts, sandals and a black t-shirt with a hole in the armpit. The cook was friendly but was wearing street clothes and a beanie. At least he had gloves on but gloves are a false sense of food safety. The cook was openly drinking from his cup on the line with his food handling gloves on. The dining area was clean but as others have noted there were quite a few flies around. I understand that flies are difficult to control but they give your restaurant an unclean impression. Overall, it was a pretty poor experience. Your to do list should include: focus on food quality. People are there to eat. If you are going to charge high prices then the customer will want to feel like they are getting their monies worth. Fix your fries. Most people like crispy fries. The sea salt and black pepper is nice but you can't put good seasoning on a poor potato. Maybe these fries were not cooked to order? If so, I would think all fries should be cooked to order with the low volume. Would it be that difficult to have t-shirts that say Burger Addict on them for the employees to wear? Completely unprofessional image, in my opinion. Require a t-shirt, black pants and an apron. Not expensive and very important. Again, in my opinion. First impressions are everything in any business and this first impression wasn't good. I may try this place again in the future and see if anything changes. read more

The food was terrible. Looks dirty outside, looks dirty inside. Ordered from DoorDash for pickup. Had never been in or heard of them. Menu sounded interesting but nothing was executed well. All ideas put together by someone who does not know how to cook. Threw most of it away and still felt sick later. And careful if you do pick up your order, there was so much grease soaking through the bag it stained me shirt. I'm guessing they have a lot of friends reviewing because I was shocked to see such a high rating. I've had some bad take out but nothing as bad as the burgers, tots and shake I got here. Service: I have not been to the restaurant itself, so this review is for the food and service. To start off, I called in to see if the delivery service charge ($5) goes to the driver as tip or if we tip on top of that. The lady who answered the phone informed me that the driver does not receive that amount and that they only receive the amount that we choose to tip. She then calls me back and says that her manager said that if I wanted to pick up the order, the service charge would be taken off (yes, but I wanted the food to be delivered, that's why I ordered delivery). I asked how much longer until the food would be finished before hanging up out of curiosity, and she said they could get the food out the door in 5 minutes, so I opted with sticking with deliver because I only live 10 minutes away. Long story short, the food was delivered 35 minutes later. I asked the delivery guy if Marcus was in the store, but it turns out, Marcus, the owner, was my delivery guy. As I was making my payment, he asks "why do you ask?" and I said that the food should've been here 20 minutes ago according to the times that the lady over the phone gave me. To my surprise, he gave me back my money, and said that he would not charge me for that miscommunication, but what surprised me even more is that he told me to never call or eat there again and walked away, bickering under his breath as he walks away. This is where the service gets a 0 star. This is no way to handle a simple comment/observation that I had regarding times that were estimated (it was quite an over reaction to the situation at hand). You don't ever treat customers like that especially locals within a couple miles of the restaurant, and when you're a small local business. Food: Now to the food, I guess they use local ingredients and make burgers fresh to order which is awesome. We got 2 addict burgers and an order of garlic fries. To keep it short and simple, the burgers did not impress me, nor did the garlic fries. The burger patties fell apart with each bite (the ground beef did not hold together) and lacked flavor. The fries were too bitter and hard to eat. Now a message for Marcus. I am not a business owner, but I figure, to keep a business above ground, you want to retain the local customer base that you have (and continue building the base instead of telling your customers to never call or eat there again), and you want to build a strong reputation for your restaurant. I frequent Yelp for others opinions but this place made me sign up so I can leave a review. First, we placed our order at 6:45pm and they said delivery by 8:10. We got our order at 8:45 and everything was cold, fries and drink were missing and burgers were burnt. We called and talked to Marcus who said he would fix it and send us new burgers. Again, burgers were wrong and supposed to have no cheese and we got cheese again. Called Marcus, the OWNER, back to get a refund and he said "I have a business to run" and dismissed my concerns which is unacceptable. We ordered 3 fries one another with the kids burger and only received 3 fries. When talking to Marcus he said "the kids fries was added to one of the adult fries trays". Which is BS because the 3 trays of adult fries we had were skimpy at best and now my kid doesn't get a tray of fries of his own? We have to pull fries out of the other trays and put them on a plate for him? Not a big deal but Marcus tried to cover his ass and lie to us because they forgot to give us the kids fries and drink, which by the way is just a warm can of coke thrown into a brown bag that sits next to the fries and burgers. I just had lunch at the Kirkland branch. The burger was amazing, but the mac and cheese was cold and bland. This was 15 minutes after opening, so this was likely yesterday's left overs insufficiently heated. Not good. More disturbing was the behavior of the owner. He was sitting front of house, talking at every customer who came in. In the 30 odd minutes I was there, I heard him defending white supremacists, apologizing for his co-worker's mistake with a "typical female, right?", insulting the general population of Seattle, and generally spouting racist, misogynistic one-liners.
