Finally was able to try Burger and Butcher and it was good and met the expectations I had. They have their own side of the parking lot which tends to fill up fast. There is also indoor and outdoor seating. I like that you either order at the kiosk up front or scan the QR code at your table and place your order and your food is brought out to you. My only complaint is I wish they weren't smash burgers those honestly are not my favorite style of patty but it was still good. Definitely not a fan of their special sauce so next time I will order just a cheese smash burger. Additionally each topping is 0.50 cents. So the single smash burger is $13.99 and add an additional 0.50 for cheese, lettuce, tomato, etc. The fries itself were good for being fried in tallow however they lacked any flavor or seasoning so if you sprinkle on some salt much better.

I would give this a solid 3.8 if I could. I do love the idea of this place (no oils/anything fried is done so in tallow), but unfortunately, the chicken sandwich was underwhelming. I chose not to get any sauce on it, but even though there was cheese on it, it unfortunately had almost no flavor. It would have been nice if the breading was salted/peppered. I don't love when a place depends solely on a sauce for flavor. I will say, the chicken itself seemed super fresh, it just wasn't really enjoyable due to the lack of flavor. All that being said, this stills gets a 3.8 from me because (1) the fries are INCREDIBLE, perfectly crispy and salted and a great size, and (2) the service is friendly; even though the ordering is electronic, staff checked in on our table a couple of times. Down to give a different entree a try, and definitely down to have those fries again!

Great burger! Loved that there were 3 options available for the type of meet and the layers I wanted. Meat was great, as was the bun. Really flavorful sauce on the burger and spend the extra $0.50 on the pickles, they are a great addition. We also got the family size fries. They are fresh (always a win in my eyes), but they over-salted them a bit. I got a side of the Hot Honey Ranch with the fries, a definite winner. Very cool place and lots of seating both inside and out. Staff was very friendly, from explaining the ordering process, serving us and checking in on us.

Grass fed Organic Triple burger with beef tallow fries

I really love the aesthetic and overall concept of Burger and Butcher. The space feels intentional, clean, and well thought out, and I appreciate the philosophy behind the food. Everything is either fried or prepared in beef tallow or burger fat, which immediately sets it apart from a lot of places doing burgers right now. No seed oils is how it should be period! The fries had great flavor, but they came out a little dry and not as hot as I would've liked. Not bad by any means--just didn't quite hit that fresh, piping-hot fry moment. For my main, I ordered the triple organic grass-fed burger with the house special sauce, pickles, egg, and sautéed onions. The burger itself was nice and moist, with crispy edges that I really enjoyed. I'm coming off a very strict month of dieting, so my palate was pretty dialed in, and overall the flavor was solid. That said, the cheese was a bit strong compared to the sauce, and while the burger was filling (I got full surprisingly fast), it felt like it was missing a little "kick" to fully bring everything together. One thing I really loved was the retail side of the restaurant. Being able to purchase meat, bone broth, Spring Valley water in glass bottles, and other similar products is a great touch and fits the brand perfectly. My girlfriend ordered the chicken fingers and a grass-fed organic vanilla milkshake. She really enjoyed the milkshake, but wasn't too happy with the chicken fingers. They're gluten-free, which we appreciate, but she mentioned there was a slight artificial taste. Just putting that out there for anyone considering them. Overall, I love the idea, the quality-forward approach, and the vibe of the place. With a few tweaks, this could easily be a go-to spot. I'd definitely come back and try more from the menu.

I saw this place on Instagram so make the hour + trek up to north Jersey to check it out. I went with the B&B blend single patty with pickles and onions. Not the biggest fan of chopped onion on a burger, more of a sliced onion fan but nbd. The sauce it came with was great. Burger was very good. You can tell it's cooked with better ingredients because you don't get the heavy feeling after like you normally do. Fries were good as well. Wasn't a fan of the ketchup. There is a tobacco store next door and you can definitely smell it inside the minute you walk in. If I was in the area again I'd stop in

This is a busy, popular spot and I can see why. I'm still thinking about the flavor of the burger. The beef taste was quite pleasing and I'd love to have it again. BUT the burger and fries sides, all of which are a la carte, are quite $$$$ for the portions you get. They make their own ketchup and while it was tasty, I wish they offered some standard ketchup as well since the homemade version tasted a bit like a dressed up Campbells Tomato soup. The interior is really fun with antlers on the wall and darkly painted walls. It's a family, casual spot that fits the area nicely. You order via tablets and the food is brought to you.

This is a fantastic place with popular dishes that use better less processed ingredients. Better bread, grass-fed beef, no seed oils; they use beef tallow for their fries. This is a healthier and tastier version of classic foods like burgers, hotdogs, fries and cheessteaks... I would highly recommend this place!!!

Way busier than anticipated for a lunch service during the weeks so I'd rec getting a reservation or coming on off hours. They do have self-ordering stations for to-go orders if you end up not wanting to wait. Even at the tables there's QR codes to order online so there's no server (which we kinda had to deduce ourselves). Just runners and people cleaning up the tables. People were nice, one even offered to get us crayons for our toddler while we waited. The food itself was really good. But I have some issues w logistics: -The host stand wasn't where you left your name for a table, it was a separate guy w a tablet so people didn't know where the line actually was. -The menu up at the host stand noted that burgers and sandwiches came with fries but none of them actually do when you order (which is ridiculous honestly.) -Everything is an up-charge I mean it's one thing for bacon or jalapeños but lettuce and tomatoes? Any sauce besides their weird homemade ketchup? Even for the chicken tenders? This is annoying also because they sell their sauces bottled and people might be more inclined to buy them if they could actually try them first? -No servers means no service lol I had a question - had to chase someone down. Needed water for my kid - they kind of reacted like... "buy a bottle?? lol" -No refills on fountain drinks unless you pay another $1.50 more on top of the $3 to be eligible to have refills. Now, like I said, food was good. Portions were good. (Although drinks were very small) food came out surprisingly fast thankfully. But I've literally never seen a stingier set up for a burger place in my life.

Me and my husband drove about an hour to give this place a try . So glad we did ! This is a decent size location and very casual spot . The staff were super friendly and told us we could either order at the counter or we could scan the QR code and order that way. Fairly simple menu . I definitely recommend the double smashed wagyu burger and the cheesesteak and must have an order of fries. Delicious! The cheesesteak looks small but very hearty and full of cheesy goodness I almost didn't finish it . The smash burger had nice crispy edges and some special sauce that elevates the burger flavor . Those hand cut fries remind me of boardwalk fries yummy ! They also make their own ketchup which is thick and slightly sweet . I would definitely recommend you give this place a try even if you have to go off the beaten path. Also recommend driving around lake Mohawk area just to take in the scenery and beautiful homes surrounding that area .

***1 1/2 stars***…read more It's pretty rare for me to go below two stars, but we literally couldn't find any redeeming qualities other than a kid-friendly chalkboard off to the side. Rough, rough lunch and I'm picking the places going forward. I came here with my top-tier chum and #1 honorary young pup chum for a midday meal yesterday. This was an unfortunate recommendation by my chum, but in her defense, the biggest selling point was that they had a young pup section of the menu (which many of my suggestions didn't). This may have been a sign that it's time for the young pup to just order off adult menus going forward. This is probably a weird time of year to be over here anyway; this restaurant recently moved next to the baseball stadium, and December just isn't the greatest page on the calendar for America's pastime so it feels a little wasteland-ish right now. There were also a few random amusement park rides that we had to walk around to access the entrance (apparently more for a nighttime winter festival of sorts?) so the vibes were a little off to start. The interior was fine though - there's an interesting looking bar off to the left and high ceilings, so it feels more spacious than it actually is, given the overall square footage you're dealing with. I also enjoyed the cow decor, though I might be missing the joke with some of the cow/pig hybrid animals on display. My chum remarked that it seemed like the menu was designed by someone who'd never actually tasted the food, and certainly wasn't the same person who cooked it. Definitely a possibility, but my general impression was that this is ostensibly a family restaurant (remember the chalkboard?) with a menu only targeting young female adults, from the bar food to the cocktails. It's very strange. I wish there was a nicer way to say it, but the cocktails were terrible. I had their version of an Old Fashioned, which had coffee in it. Just did not go well together at all; there's a reason why Irish coffee with Bailey's was invented - not every dark spirit is going to work with coffee. I find it hard to believe this was taste-tested before being added to the menu. Never again. I felt worse for my chum though, who got a holiday twist on a margarita with cranberry. It was so beyond tart I could barely swallow it and it honestly tasted like cough medicine. In a quasi-NSFW comment, my chum mentioned that this drink might be helpful for a UTI, but alas, we were at a restaurant, not a pharmacy. At the very least, they need to retrain their bartenders on basic portions of a cocktail, but when the ingredients clash, that's a management issue. We got the Cow Wedgies to share as an app - basically, flattened mozzy sticks. I like the flattened concept but these were pretty bad. I'm assuming the issue here is they were in the deep fryer for too long because they had pockets of grease that would pop when you bit into them, almost like a pimple. One of those pockets exploded and stained the front of my hoodie. Not great - an unappetizing appetizer. The impression I got was that The Barnyard were pretty aggressively touting the chicken/waffles section of the menu. I went with the Winner Winner, which was another example of not understanding basic palates and taste profiles. This is a savory item - it has chicken, mashed potatoes and this gravy/corn concoction. Inexplicably, they then added this weird tangy sauce that would be better served on a bang bang shrimp app that completely ruined the dish. It's such an unforced error I don't understand how it happened. It's going to come as no surprise, but the service matched the overall quality of the meal. There were very few customers on the premises and yet our waitress was mostly MIA. She never came by to check on us after serving the food, despite making multiple trips to a table near us to inefficiently clear it practically one item at a time. It's very hard to give constructive feedback when an experience is this bad, but to me it starts at the very beginning - make sure the items on your menu taste good and that your staff is properly trained on basic hospitality concepts. The Kingdom of Sussex deserves a lot better than this.

Be prepared! Inside, we were met with a kind staff and a delicious lunch. The boomin bloomin onion was a favorite for our crew, with the typical blooming onion sauce you know and love from the steak chains. What differentiated it was the thin slicing of the onions, which made it easier to just keep dipping a little bit more. The only letdown of the meal, which was a relative letdown given how solid the burgers and onion were, was the fries. They didn't have flavor, even though I got mine with Cajun seasoning and my wife got hers with a beer cheese dip. They need to punch up the salt fresh out of the fryer to really let the other seasonings shine. We actually overheard another table say the same thing after we finished our fries, so I don't think it was just a fluke order. That said, if you're nitpicking over the sides at the burger and shake place, I'd say you're going to the wrong places! This was a tasty meal and a stop I'd easily go back to if I was nearby.

After seeing a social media post featuring the restaurant's unique industrial décor and checking…read morethe menu online beforehand, my dining companion and I made the drive up from Morristown for a 7pm Saturday dinner. We expected a moderately upscale atmosphere - with $15 cocktails and entrees ranging from $32 for pasta up to $48 for a strip steak - and we dressed accordingly. Upon our arrival at Industry, it quickly became clear that the dining room leans much more casual than we anticipated. Before even walking in to the restaurant, I passed a gentleman sitting on the curb in front of the entrance to the restaurant in a tank top, shorts, and Crocs sandals on an animated phone call. Inside, most guests were similarly dressed in t-shirts and shorts. To top it off, a diner at a neighboring table surreptitiously used a vape pen throughout her meal. I don't mean to sound overly critical of what might pass for moderately upscale dining in Sussex County, but there is definitely a noticeable disconnect between the high culinary ambitions and prices on the menu and the actual day-to-day environment in the dining room. That disconnect is a shame because we really liked the decor in the open, airy space as well as what the kitchen is trying to do here. It's obvious that they genuinely know what they're doing in the back of the house.. but the front of the house isn't as disciplined. We started with the unique Watermelon and Feta salad ($18) -- an innovative appetizer where the watermelon is vacuum-sealed to force-feed it a mildly spicy chimichurri marinade, and it was flat-out excellent. For the main course, I really enjoyed the Cherry Pepper Pappardelle ($34), cooked to a perfect al dente and loaded with sweet Italian sausage and broccolini although for my preferences, the garlic and white wine vinegar sauce could have used a little more kick. My dining companion wanted something lighter and opted for the Tuna Tartare Tacos ($23) -- four crispy wonton shells stuffed with a surprisingly generous portion of sushi-grade tuna, seaweed salad, guacamole, and harissa mayo -- and she loved them. As for the beverage program, it was... well, no pun intended, a bit mixed. My dining companion really enjoyed her Loose Screw ($15), a crisp and refreshing concoction of limoncello, mint, prosecco, and club soda. On the other hand, I was unimpressed with the American A.F. ($15), a blend of FEW American Whiskey, Widow Jane Paradigm Rye, cherry vanilla simple syrup, and Angostura bitters, which ended up tasting fairly uninspired when compared to a regular Old Fashioned. Our server, Christina, was fantastic -- friendly, hyper-aware of my dietary restriction, and spot-on with her recommendations. The kitchen's speed, however, was another story. Despite the dining room being less than half full, our starter took nearly 30 minutes to make an appearance, and another 20-25 minutes elapsed after we finished before our entrees joined the party. At the end of the day, I really respect the vision and execution coming out of the kitchen, and Christina's service was top-notch. That said, I'd give it a 3.5 star rating -- rounded down to 3 stars given the glacier-like pacing and the surreal gap between high-end menu prices and a lax (vape-friendly, even) vibe, as the execution on the floor just doesn't match what the kitchen is working so hard to achieve. If I'm in the area.. I'd give it another shot with a more grounded expectation. Pro Tip: If you're looking for a location to host an event, Industry has two private dining rooms on the main floor and a larger space downstairs available for larger groups.

Another review from a poor man. This review is a…read morecomplete mix bag for me. There is very good things and some irksome things about our latest visit here. The pros. The chicken wings had a good crisp, the side salad I asked for was fresh, the cheese steak roll was pillowy soft and was nicely cheesy, and most importantly, the gentleman behind the bar who took our order was a fantastically nice guy The cons. The garlic parm sauce on the wings were a bit lacking and the amount of meat on the cheese steak was only half enough to really fill that long roll. And the most irksome thing was the 2,23 % "technology fee". No offense but WTH is that?????? If it was to use the credit card, it wasn't explained at all. Look, if you like a funky bar with good food and you are in the area, I would say check it out once in your life and form your opinion. But, for me, I just don't know how often

I thought I'd been to a 30 Burgers before, but it does not show up in my reviews. Now it shall…read more Since this is a chain, I'll start with the food, and I will note that the food overall would be a solid 4 stars at minimum. With an asterisk. Because I got a fat sandwich, not a burger. But what a great menu variety to choose frome! It's the tastiest fat sandwich I ever had. It actually looked skinny when it showed up on the tray, but it turned out to be much deeper bread to compensate. Very high quality ingredients and seasoning compared to the infamous food trucks. My friend and I agreed that the fries are excellent, nice and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. However, I regret to inform you that Cheese Fries are really Cheez Fries, without actual cheese on them. (I bet I could order that... for an additional fee. The 50 cent upcharge looked too good to be true.) So now, the unfortunate reasons the 4 stars has dropped to a 3. First, I agree with what many others have said here - this is the wrong environment for Denville. You're walking into an industrial setting. The raised roof reveals some rough edges to the top of the bathroom and above the kitchen, both of which feature various objects stored on those tops. Really poor design unless you're a test kitchen. And design alone wouldn't be enough to deduct a star, except the service was a bit of an issue. There were only two staff present, and they were both cooks, which means one of them had to stop cooking every time a customer had a request. Service was still fairly quick and friendly, but I really can't think of another time I have experienced something like this. One star will be given back with either of the above reductions fixed. If all is fixed... I will come back, order an actual burger with actual (upcharged) cheese on my fries, and reconsider.

I'm a very picky water so that's saying a lot. Don't get me started on the fries - they were extra crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with this spicy/flavorful dip. The service was excellent and greeted with a warm smile. Definitely would recommend.
