I have been hearing about this place for literally years and after their recent misfortune with a burglary I really wanted to show support so I decided to give them a try. It was a pretty awkward energy when I walked in... it was just the owners there, the man cooking and woman at the computer. Neither of them even looked up or acknowledged me for minutes as I stood there kind of in shock cause they were about 2 ft away from me... finally the woman looked up and asked if I was there for pick up and I said no and she didnt even listen, asking what the name was lol I tried to just blow this off and placed my order, waiting about 10 mins cause they had a lot of mobile orders. Once I was home I was excited to eat, but was so disappointed with the quality. The meat was cheap, bun burnt, dry and super salty with not much to it. Im not trying to bash them when they're down, but I cant deny that this was a really underwhelming experience. I hope they can take notice of these little details and become the place that ive heard so much about once again.

Came in haven't been to burger basket in ages. Asian lady was friendly and helpful. Burger had a good char on it and tasted like a good old fashioned cheeseburger came with nice crisp large fries but not steak fries and a drink for $14. Small burger spot that was bright and inviting.

Looks unassuming on the outside but once I finally decided to try Burger Basket, it became my go-to burger place in LA! I literally can't go anywhere else anymore! Their burgers are cooked fresh and have a super good, umami flavor with plenty of veggies. I love their fries too! There is an option to order ahead by phone to save time. The staff are always super nice and friendly. Free parking lot. Highly recommend you come check this old, family-run restaurant out!

Double Cheeseburger, Corn Dog

Old school burger joint with great food. Prices were nice and the two owners were great. It's a small spot but easy to take your food on the go if there's no space. I got a double cheeseburger with fries and a corn dog. Everything was just right. Corn dog was crispy and fluffy at the same time and the burger was a classic. Good honest food for a decent price. Like I said there isn't much room to sit but they get your order up and out quick and they make it all in front of you. Parking is a little tight but there's plenty on the street around.

Exterior- typical urban LA style lol

A family owned burger spot that's been around for almost 60 years and is a bit under the radar - with a simple menu and very reasonable prices. The fries were perfect and service was so friendly we felt like we knew everyone. They were so friendly in fact that my hubby asked me when we left "did you know them?" lol! We were craving burgers and both went with double cheeseburgers and some fries to share. They made our order fresh on the spot too which I really liked. And it's an open concept kitchen so you can watch them while they cook. The small fry portion is quite generous and more than we could finish between us. They were delicious- perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. Definitely very excellent fries here. Our burgers were ok - the meat and buns were delicious- great flavors and very nicely grilled. Their thousand island sauce is good too. But the lettuce was very soggy and wilted - I had to take it off my burger. And the cheese they use had a strong flavor similar to the prepackaged Kraft American slices that I really dislike. If they had used fresh lettuce and a better quality cheese those burgers would've been amazing. The restaurant is definitely a bit divey and if it wasn't for the "A" health score, I probably wouldn't have given it a try - the seating area is in need of a serious deep clean and the chairs need to be replaced badly lol. But their prices are insanely inexpensive- especially given our current levels of inflation lol. They're located in a very busy spot with plenty of easy parking and they're easy to find.

French fry with ketchup! Yum. This is why i like having a ketchup squeeze bottle.

A nice local burger joint. Got a pastrami cheese burger (was the daily special, not sure if it's always available) It's a cheeseburger topped with pastrami. It's not the best iteration of a pastrami cheeseburger that I've had, but it gets the job done. Had a thick slice of tomato and hand leafed lettuce. Came with french fries and a pickle. The french fries were of standard quality and satisfying enough. There was a ketchup bottle to use so I had no problem keeping the flow of ketchup consistent on my fries. The service was on the slower end but it wasn't horrible or anything, but could have been a one off. I would be prepared for a wait if I saw a lot of folks chilling around. The service was very polite and welcoming, so as long as I wasn't in a rush, I wouldn't mind giving them a few more minutes. Venue is very small, a little cramped almost. I think most people would prefer to sit on the tables outside or just take the order to-go. The seats are cracked so it definitely looks kind of old and run down, but the food is fine. Given this place's location, I'd probably compare it to Jim's further down the street. Jim's might be a better option in a vacuum but if I were approaching from the east I'd probably stop here for food instead of going all the way.

Authentic 80's food truck pastrami with plenty of pickles and mustard! Generous portion! Today's bread seems soft. Hope next time be more crisp. Pastrami flavors are always great! Soda refill $1.00 . Friendly service and old fashion burger joint interior.

This is a small burger place in the 626 area. I did not realize of this place after living here for 4 years. There is a small parking lot. They have their A/C on in the cold weather. Because of that, we order our burger to go. We ordered a double cheese burger with fries. I used the Yelp check-in offer for a cheese burger, and a side of fries. The cheese burger is decent to me. The patty was cook perfectly. However, the fries was a bit disappointed. They were soggy. Thank you for the check-in offer. I am grateful. When I ordered the food, the chef was standing by to get the order ready. He was wearing chef uniform. This shows his dedication and respect for his job. I will come back again to try their fish and chip.

Fries drenched in oil

This place used to be so much better a few years ago. The bun was burnt, and the tomato was about five times thicker than the meat patty -- no exaggeration. And the fries... my goodness. They were absolutely drenched in oil. My heart's still racing after just a few bites, which tells you how bad that oil must have been. You can see from the photo how soggy and greasy they were. For prices comparable to In-N-Out, the least they could do is use fresh oil. Sadly, I won't be coming back.

Have been coming here for years, just because of how amazing the food is and how friendly the staff are! Food - I typically order a double cheeseburger with fries well done. With the fries well done, it just tastes so much better. You guys need to try it! The burger is so flavorful and enough to keep you full. Service - always fast, attentive and so friendly. The employees are always working so hard and they will always greet you with the biggest smiles. They have other things like fish and chips which I also would like to try out in the future. Ambiance - it's more of an older building with few tables inside and I believe 2 patio tables. I have never dined here before but I can tell you that the employees have always been so sweet to me. I may try to dine in sometimes

Order through delivery app. The fish & chips were alright, fish was deep fried nicely. Crunchy batter. The pastrami sandwich had too much pickle so it was way too sour.... The burger didn't look too appetizing, thin patty.

I, for one, immediately noticed the huge mural that heralds our Greatest Laker Ever the moment I pulled offve Live Oak into the small lot that abuts Fantastic. Digging further, I discovered that the "Eat Fantastic" quintet of restaurants that dot the greater LA metropolitan area ARE IN FACT a modernized spinoff of the "Cafe Fantastic" chain that Gen Xers like me fondly recall. Sheeeeeeeeeiiit. True story- All throughout my time at San Pedro High, my best friend Mick and I usta demolish their Combo Burger Platter (burger/fries AND onion rings, side salad and drink) for only $3.65. 40yr flashback over, your favorite Yelp correspondent went for Fantastic's pastrami sandwich combo. And while it doesn't come with a quintet of items guaranteed to fillya up- I can vouch that the pastrami is legit!!! Well seasoned, peppered, served steaming hot aboard a French roll gently slicked with mustard. I've had my share of fabulous pastrami in my time- Katz Deli in NY, Brent's Deli in Northridge and more locally and if you're in a severe 'strami fix...then Togo's #9 will do ya, too. This doesn't compete at those lofty levels, but for its price I'll order this eight days a week over the razor-thin pastrami dispensed by the overrated The Hat chain of pastrami-phixated locales! While this was a takeout order, I can attest that all of my.prior dealings w/ the Eat Fantastic staff has been just fine. Courteous and swift service.

Kyuramen x TBaar brings together a Japanese-inspired ramen restaurant and bubble tea café under one…read moreroof, offering a menu that extends well beyond ramen. We walked into a space that stands out for its modern interior, featuring private wooden booth seating that creates a cozy, semi-private dining experience, the kind of setup that makes the meal feel more intimate than a typical ramen shop. The atmosphere feels contemporary and social, with a clean, thoughtfully designed layout that works well for both casual dinners and group outings, and the attached TBaar makes it easy to finish the meal with a specialty tea or dessert without leaving the restaurant. While ramen is the restaurant's signature, many of the menu's standout dishes are actually found elsewhere. The omurice is one of the most popular items, served with a fluffy egg and rich demi-glace or curry sauce that makes it one of the restaurant's signature comfort dishes, and the presentation, with the egg split open at the table, adds a theatrical element to the meal. Other highlights include yakitori, bao buns, katsu, takoyaki, and appetizers that give the menu plenty of variety. The ramen itself is solid, with options ranging from traditional tonkotsu to the Yin Yang Ramen that lets you sample both spicy and non-spicy broths in one bowl, though the quality of the ramen can feel less memorable than some of the restaurant's other specialties, the broth lacking the depth and complexity that defines a dedicated ramen shop. The attached TBaar also adds another layer to the experience with milk teas, fruit teas, and desserts that pair well with the meal. Matcha tiramisu, Japanese cherry blossom jelly, and other sweets help round out the menu, making it easy to stay for dessert instead of stopping somewhere else afterward, and the drinks are well prepared, with the tea flavors coming through clearly without being overly sweet. The restaurant's design is one of its biggest strengths. The wooden booths provide a semi-private dining experience, and the overall space feels clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed, creating an environment that encourages lingering over a meal rather than rushing through it. Service is generally friendly and welcoming, though it can slow down during busier periods as the restaurant fills up, with the team handling the steady flow but sometimes taking longer to check in when the dining room is at capacity. The overall experience remains positive, and the pace of the meal stays comfortable even when the service stretches. Kyuramen x TBaar offers more than just ramen. The inviting atmosphere, diverse menu, and combination of savory dishes, drinks, and desserts make it a well-rounded dining destination. While the ramen may not be the strongest reason to visit compared to some dedicated ramen shops, the omurice, appetizers, desserts, and unique dining experience make it a place worth trying, especially if you are looking for variety rather than focusing on a single dish. The balance of creativity, comfort, and a polished setting makes it a versatile option for a meal that feels more like an experience than a quick stop.
