#2 Double Cheeseburger with Fries and 20 oz. Soda
    Christopher D.

Small spot in a strip mall parking lot with no-frills burgers, fish and chips, and a few other things. It's freshly made and just simply tasty. There's a little bit of seating indoors/out, but most people take food to go. The operators are nice people and I go whenever I'm close by for a consistent burger. It's good value.

Came in haven't been to burger basket in ages. Asian lady was friendly and helpful. Burger had a good char on it and tasted like a good old fashioned cheeseburger came with nice crisp large fries but not steak fries and a drink for $14. Small burger spot that was bright and inviting.

Looks unassuming on the outside but once I finally decided to try Burger Basket, it became my go-to burger place in LA! I literally can't go anywhere else anymore! Their burgers are cooked fresh and have a super good, umami flavor with plenty of veggies. I love their fries too! There is an option to order ahead by phone to save time. The staff are always super nice and friendly. Free parking lot. Highly recommend you come check this old, family-run restaurant out!

    Double Cheeseburger, Corn Dog

Old school burger joint with great food. Prices were nice and the two owners were great. It's a small spot but easy to take your food on the go if there's no space. I got a double cheeseburger with fries and a corn dog. Everything was just right. Corn dog was crispy and fluffy at the same time and the burger was a classic. Good honest food for a decent price. Like I said there isn't much room to sit but they get your order up and out quick and they make it all in front of you. Parking is a little tight but there's plenty on the street around.

Exterior- typical urban LA style lol

A family owned burger spot that's been around for almost 60 years and is a bit under the radar - with a simple menu and very reasonable prices. The fries were perfect and service was so friendly we felt like we knew everyone. They were so friendly in fact that my hubby asked me when we left "did you know them?" lol! We were craving burgers and both went with double cheeseburgers and some fries to share. They made our order fresh on the spot too which I really liked. And it's an open concept kitchen so you can watch them while they cook. The small fry portion is quite generous and more than we could finish between us. They were delicious- perfectly crisp on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. Definitely very excellent fries here. Our burgers were ok - the meat and buns were delicious- great flavors and very nicely grilled. Their thousand island sauce is good too. But the lettuce was very soggy and wilted - I had to take it off my burger. And the cheese they use had a strong flavor similar to the prepackaged Kraft American slices that I really dislike. If they had used fresh lettuce and a better quality cheese those burgers would've been amazing. The restaurant is definitely a bit divey and if it wasn't for the "A" health score, I probably wouldn't have given it a try - the seating area is in need of a serious deep clean and the chairs need to be replaced badly lol. But their prices are insanely inexpensive- especially given our current levels of inflation lol. They're located in a very busy spot with plenty of easy parking and they're easy to find.

French fry with ketchup! Yum. This is why i like having a ketchup squeeze bottle.

A nice local burger joint. Got a pastrami cheese burger (was the daily special, not sure if it's always available) It's a cheeseburger topped with pastrami. It's not the best iteration of a pastrami cheeseburger that I've had, but it gets the job done. Had a thick slice of tomato and hand leafed lettuce. Came with french fries and a pickle. The french fries were of standard quality and satisfying enough. There was a ketchup bottle to use so I had no problem keeping the flow of ketchup consistent on my fries. The service was on the slower end but it wasn't horrible or anything, but could have been a one off. I would be prepared for a wait if I saw a lot of folks chilling around. The service was very polite and welcoming, so as long as I wasn't in a rush, I wouldn't mind giving them a few more minutes. Venue is very small, a little cramped almost. I think most people would prefer to sit on the tables outside or just take the order to-go. The seats are cracked so it definitely looks kind of old and run down, but the food is fine. Given this place's location, I'd probably compare it to Jim's further down the street. Jim's might be a better option in a vacuum but if I were approaching from the east I'd probably stop here for food instead of going all the way.

This location has been around for many years It a husband and wife owned business It was pretty busy when I went in for the first time . I went for lunch and had the fish and chips and order a corn dog, teriyaki burger The lady at the counter sweet and helpful . Corn dog was surprisingly good the batter tasty . Fish was a little to extra friend for me ,coleslaw was excellent . Hard to find a good coleslaw. Enjoyed the teriyaki sauce on the burger ,French fries to extra crispy for me. Inside seating extremely small Best to order food to go. Next time will try a cheeseburger

    Fries drenched in oil
    Christina X.

This place used to be so much better a few years ago. The bun was burnt, and the tomato was about five times thicker than the meat patty -- no exaggeration. And the fries... my goodness. They were absolutely drenched in oil. My heart's still racing after just a few bites, which tells you how bad that oil must have been. You can see from the photo how soggy and greasy they were. For prices comparable to In-N-Out, the least they could do is use fresh oil. Sadly, I won't be coming back.

Authentic 80's food truck pastrami with plenty of pickles and mustard! Generous portion! Today's bread seems soft. Hope next time be more crisp. Pastrami flavors are always great! Soda refill $1.00 . Friendly service and old fashion burger joint interior.

This is a small burger place in the 626 area. I did not realize of this place after living here for 4 years. There is a small parking lot. They have their A/C on in the cold weather. Because of that, we order our burger to go. We ordered a double cheese burger with fries. I used the Yelp check-in offer for a cheese burger, and a side of fries. The cheese burger is decent to me. The patty was cook perfectly. However, the fries was a bit disappointed. They were soggy. Thank you for the check-in offer. I am grateful. When I ordered the food, the chef was standing by to get the order ready. He was wearing chef uniform. This shows his dedication and respect for his job. I will come back again to try their fish and chip.

Have been coming here for years, just because of how amazing the food is and how friendly the staff are! Food - I typically order a double cheeseburger with fries well done. With the fries well done, it just tastes so much better. You guys need to try it! The burger is so flavorful and enough to keep you full. Service - always fast, attentive and so friendly. The employees are always working so hard and they will always greet you with the biggest smiles. They have other things like fish and chips which I also would like to try out in the future. Ambiance - it's more of an older building with few tables inside and I believe 2 patio tables. I have never dined here before but I can tell you that the employees have always been so sweet to me. I may try to dine in sometimes

I tried the dark meat chicken pot pie with gravy, apple pie, mixed berry pie, and a side of salad. The pies were amazing, portioned well, and very flaky. If that's an issue there is plenty of street parking. Pot Pie (dark meat): This is my first time having a pot pie and I highly enjoyed it. The crust was very light, flaky and rich. The filling was creamy and the chicken was soooo soft and tender. Melted in my mouth like butter. The only thing was it was a tad bland for my taste but they have salt and pepper on the table to adjust to your liking. Apple Pie: The slice I thought was a flattie but a baddie. She outside crust is thick but the bottom and top is a bit on the thinner side. The filling is a tad too sweet for me but I loved that they added real fruits. Soup of the day (Chicken noodle soup): I think the cup size is just enough to get you started off as an appetizer. I liked that they gave a heaping amount of noodles and chicken. I had the following for dinner: For an appetizer, I had the spiced meatballs. They were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection and had an amazing sauce. I also got to try the calamari, which was equally as incredible. For the entree, I had the bacon wrapped filet. Again, cooked to perfection and the taste was wonderful. The side was definitely not quite right. I got the garlic mashed potatoes. They were the most plain potatoes I have ever had. No garlic, no salt, no seasoning. I think they might have accidentally missed the seasoning. For dessert, I tried the bread pudding. It was good; however, I was expecting more from the dessert. Our server was on the face very nice; however, he also was very robotic in his responses. For example, he never let you finish your answer after he asked a question, before replying again and walking away. So overall, an excellent experience. I would return again and give it another try!

I tried the western burger, the Swiss burger, chicken and waffles, onion rings, and fries. The burger is one of the best I've had with a grilled brioche bun that is slightly crunchy on the bottom but so spongy and chewy on top. It perfectly complements the perfectly cooked wagyu patty. The chicken and waffles is almost too much to eat in 1 sitting. They also don't drown it in syrup. They drizzle just enough to flavor it but not drown it and make the waffle soggy. But the best thing is the tempura onion rings. They are huge and super crunchy but not greasy. I love them the best. Their fries aren't bad either and I hardly eat carbs. Parking is easy enough a block or so away, but finding a close spot is usually hit or miss on Myrtle due to how many restaurants are concentrated in a five block space. I went alone for a quick lunch. Service was exceptionally friendly and generally attentive, though it was a bit of a drag getting my bill settled as the lone server kept getting distracted by other tables and customers. Well, I got the State burger with no pickles and no thousand island sauce. I added bacon for $2.00 and swapped out the potato chips for fries for $1.50. It's happy hour all day until dinner, so the burger was discounted from $16 to $12, which is a good deal. The burger tasted great. The fries were good. The freshness of the lettuce and tomato on the burger actually stood out. I never realized how often you get slightly wilting lettuce at other places until I bit into this super fresh, crisp lettuce. I know that's a weird thing to mention, but it stood out. The only complaint I actually had was the amount of meat used in the burger patty. I think it's very small. They also sell a double smash burger, and I almost felt like this was a smash burger, cause the patty is so thin. It's not, but it's a disappointingly small amount of meat. Still, if you want drinks, it's a lovely looking bar. As I said, service is great. And I will come back for the burger. It's good and cheap, though I would gladly pay five dollars more for more meat. This time the burger was all I tried, but I can recommend. Give it a try for their all afternoon happy hour and the drinks.

It was a good light drink with light vanilla and lemon flavor. I always love a good foam top too. She started out with a Basil Paloma (Herradura silver tequila, muddled basil & grapefruit, fresh grapefruit juice, lime, simple syrup, seltzer, $15). It had good grapefruit and basil flavor, and was nicely balanced. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower appetizer ($14). The cauliflower was supposed to be grilled, but it seemed almost raw. The buffalo sauce definitely had a good kick. For my entrée, I had the Black Angus Basin Burger (manchego cheese, carmelized onions, arugula, special sauce, brioche bun, $19). The burger was excellent. The cheese, carmelized onions, and arugula was a great flavor combo. The fries were good, but I'd order them more crispy next time. She had the two taco plate with fish and potato tacos ($15). The taco shells were freshly fried, and it was a filling plate that she enjoyed. We had one more round of drinks and I had the Billionaire cocktail (Old Forrester 100 proof bourbon, lemon, house made grenadine, absinthe, $16). This was excellent. It was very balanced, and not boozy at all with a very light sweetness. Her second was the Smoke and Fire (Peloton de la Muerte mezcal, Ancho Reyes liqueur, muddled jalapeno & orange, fresh lime, agave, chili salt, $15). It was pretty well balanced with a medium smokiness. It definitely had a kick of heat on the finish. Our server Lakyn was friendly and provided good service. The menu prices are cash prices. There is an extra 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was mostly a miss, but everything else was very good so I'm rounding up to five stars. There was a choice of soup or salad, entree from a list, and choice of pizookie. We got the pizza, wedge salad, and triple chocolate and chocolate chunk pizookies. All of the food was just ok. None was bad, but none was exceptional either. The best items were the pizookies. On this visit, two servers helped us as the first one went to a different section when the new one came on shift. Both of them were very nice and attentive and offered a quality of service that far outmatched the quality of the food. The restaurant was pretty full already even at about 4:00-4:30 for an early dinner on a Sat and was quite noisy between the talking and background music. The restaurant seems centered on the bar which has decent TVs to watch games. We also got a standard margarita with a salted rim. The quality was also just ok, but we like the way they make them. It was consistent with other BJs locations. This BJs is a nice place to have a casual family meal or hang out with friends in the bar to see a game or just chat. We did not see a happy hour menu or advertisement like at other BJs locations, but perhaps we were just there on the wrong day and time.
