I got 2 sandwiches because I like the burgers but wanted to try the new chicken sandwich. The burger is just as San Antonio has come to expect, it is a classic! The meat is on the thinner side, the buns are fresh, and American cheese is melted. The new chicken sandwich did not disappoint! I added cheese, bacon, and jalapeños and it was great! I would def spring for the bacon and japs. Man, it was good! The Oreo shake is a nice addition. I thought it was perfect for a hot summer day. I love Burger Boy and have eaten there several times. Pulling in, I can already tell you the car park for this establishment is on the small side, little to none, so just be aware, but certainly equipped with a drive-through for the grab and go. I have yet to be inside to witness the atmosphere of it all, but I can speak a little but on the staff. They were kind and helpful when I was confused about what to choose for myself. The meat was seasoned nicely, hot, and juicy. Good fries and I saw that they offered milkshakes in a large variety so I couldn't say no, obviously. And that milkshake was good too! I walked 45 minutes from Rivercenter (which I happily do for "destination food") and was not impressed at all. It's a small, comfortable space, and the staff are friendly, but the burgers are completely unexceptional - the patties are dead ringers for Burger King whopper patties - thin, impossible to cook any way other than "well done", and not at all juicy. Condiments are very limited. The burger would benefit from a proprietary signature sauce developed in-house, but they don't even have that - just mustard and ketchup (not even mayo?!). Fries were standard crinkle cut. Shakes were another supposed specialty, but these tasted very synthetic: I question if they use real ice cream at all (and if they do, it's not premium), the strawberry is syrup, the orange uses their iced orange drink (real OJ tastes much better). Still the shakes are one of the better values on the menu ($2.59, up from $2.09 last year) 2 double burgers, 2 shakes and 1 kids meal cost $23.72. We would have eaten just as well for under $10 at BK. If this is indeed the "best burger in town", then people need to get out of town more often. read more

Types each of our orders in, all the substitutions for that one guy, and then we pull up, cashier has all of our totals correct, each if us pays, and it was as effortless as could be. And every order perfect. And oh, what a burger. Fresh-made, well-seasoned meat, just drizzling that blacktop sizzle goodness all over everything else. Now, I still like Whataburger a lot and disagree with those that claim it's gone downhill, there have always been some Whataburgers better than others. But even the best Whataburger in my memory that I've ever had doesn't compare tonight's perfect, juicy burger from Burger Boy. My complaints are: The burger was greasy (I think the bun was too saturated with butter) The patty's needed salt and seasoning The cheese was not melted The burger was sloppily assembled The fries were cooked perfectly but needed salt as well. Came here after hand crafted bunz dropped the ball. Obviously a different style burger, more greasy spoon here at Burger Boy. Place was slammed, they took orders quickly and got through the line pretty quick. I wish I had got some cheese on the burger but that's on me. I thought it was very similar to whataburger but Burger boy was just better. A juicier burger, flavor was there. Crinkle cut fries from the cafeteria were also better than whataburger. No dried out crusty bun at Burger Boy. Fun to try and a above average greasy spoon type burger. If I'm in the neighborhood again I wouldn't hesitate to drive through. read more
