Now we will preface this by saying we have gone to Chris Madrid's before and didn't really enjoy the food that much. You order coming in and get a buzzer to pick up the food. Now this place was PACKED. Parking spots limited although outside they have a sign telling you where there's more parking which we liked. We opted for an American cheese burger this time instead of the well loved cheddar cheese burger. The lady that got our order was nice but seemed definitely stressed, no time for pleasantries but I can understand. Although as a first timer it can be a little scary to order especially if you have questions because they did not seem like the type to want to answer questions. I got mine with lettuce, tomato and mayo. The burger itself was good, the mayo had a weird sweet taste to it that I did not like and kind of ruined the experience for me. The fries were really good in my opinion, they do not salt them, so we added salt ourselves, I just really liked how crispy they were on the outside and soft on the inside. They had plenty of seating and parking and the staff was friendly. Be careful crossing Zarzamora if you park across the street. I had the cheddar burger and my wife had the jalapeño cheddar burger and we split a basket of fries. The burgers were good but to me the patty was real thin. I was hoping for a more substantial sized patty when looking at the size of the bun. I will definitely try the 1/2 lb patty next time. All in all the burger was good. My fav was the fries! I've been coming to Diana's since it first opened! Being that Diana was "Chris Madrid's" sister I KNEW it would be good! I always tell/bring family or friends over. With this being said, I ranted & waved about it to my nieces visiting from FL & for the first time i was disappointed! The meat in "all" of our burgers were so small, more bun the meat! The meat was always bigger than the bun! It was hard to get flavor cuz you had more salad & bread than meat! Diana wasn't there, otherwise I would have mentioned it to her. Griffs was my number one burger spot but today this amazing restaurant has conquered all burger places thatI've been in my 24 years of living and I am a burger fanatic!! I give this place five stars because of the volume of the burger and how delicious it was. It filled me up and gave me everything I was craving. Diana's nurturing presence was the best service I've ever felt like I was being served by my grandma and it was beautiful. The staff and service was just 10 out of 10. I complimented the chefs and they were very happy. This ambience is like no other you can't re-create this it has history!! The staff seemed tired, and weren't mean, but just didn't get the friendly vibes others spoke of. When you walk in and see the menu, they have you walk over to the left to place order, but be sure to ask because there were two lines forming and opposing signs that pointed to each other to say order here . Better to just ask. The bean nachos are simple, but delicious. The bean base is flavorful and then covered with cheddar cheese. It's served with jalapeños and salsa. The burger was tasty too, just be ready for grease because even the bun glistens. At first glance, the burger looks big but the patty isn't as big as the bun so I left about half of the bun because it wasn't needed. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh! I will say this with all the love in the world. These are big, fat, beautiful & greasy burgers! They are a work of art, they are proud of their burger & aren't afraid to show you!
