When you pre-cook your burgers, you lose the taste which is what I experienced this afternoon, meat was cold and chewy/grindy, cheese barely melted, who knows when the bacon was cooked, with enough lettuce on the burger to make a salad...a waste of $18.00 (just me). We went to Burger City to have breakfast today March 16th 2024. We saw things you would never see or pay attention to if you sat in the front. The main reason why we're writing this review is because we expressed our concern and it seemed like it didn't help. Let me start from the beginning. We got there and we were seated close to the coffee grinder. One of the servers (the one that wears a right hand brace, they don't have name tags) went to grab a new coffee filter, not without licking her three right fingers to grab the filter and carried it on her right palm (where she has the dirty wrist brace ) to the coffee maker in the front, to start the new coffee pot. After we mentioned it to our server. The server who had licked her hand before came back to grab another filter, looked at us, licked her left fingers this time, grabbed the filter and coffee and went back up front! It felt like she did it deliberately. ‍ Also all the servers behind the counter walk back and forth collecting money, cards, handling the register and we never saw them wash their hands afterwards. Also when they clean the tables after a guest they never clean the condiment bottles like the ketchup, salt shaker, pepper shaker... when you handle them they feel either sticky or grimy. I never knew this place existed until my boyfriend told me about it. With that being said, I finally dined here, obviously for the very first time, a few weeks ago. Although the place was fairly busy, we were greeted and seated rather quickly. The customer service was spot on! Our waitress was very attentive to our needs. She brought refills on our drinks without us having to flag her down, which is always nice. She was very friendly as well. The food was delicious! My burger was very well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Some places seem to barely put any garlic on garlic fries, but this place put a good amount of minced garlic on top of their garlic fries. My dad introduced me to this spot, and I'm so glad that he did! It reminds me of All American Hamburger, just less greasier. The fries here are hands-down THE BEST! What I don't like, however, is their hamburger buns. They use Martin's potato rolls, which makes the burger less appealing, as the bread is too soft and mushy for my liking. I am new to the city and doordashed some food because I was too tired from moving to cook. I initially went to check if they had impossible or beyond burgers for my pescatarian partner and I found more than that on their menu! It was very crowded here today. There's nothing more American than a cheeseburger. I knew I had to get the Super Godzilla Burger. This isn't your ordinary burger. I didn't think it was going to be big as this. It had some people around at awe, asked what was that, and if I can finish it. I knew it was going to be messy the moment I saw it. They brought out extra napkins, because they knew the procedure. It got double the beef, sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, grilled onions, the works, American cheese, Pepper Jack cheese, and Swiss cheese all on a French roll. The sautéed mushrooms is good on its own, but added to a patty really elevates the burger. My favorite cheese is actually Swiss. I think a French roll is amongst the Brioche or Ciabatta buns. I consider this more as an artisanal burger. Cooked medium well. I also don't see a lot of Pineapple Milkshakes out there, it complimented everything well. The only thing was, they asked me if I wanted a drink somewhat too soon. Because when the burger arrived, the frozen cold Milkshake was melting and dripping a bit. So funny how I passed the this place for years and just strolled in here today. Welcomed instantly with smiles everywhere that felt genuine and not just here because I have to be here. It's cut thinner than their other fries and the batter is on point! Crispy and light. It's not a heavy batter. They offer different sides with your burger: Cajun fries, garlic fries, regular fries, beer battered fries, potato salad, and I believe also Mac salad. Weirder take out often times when we are doing projects and it makes it so easy to call in and grab a good meal. Breakfast on the weekends is delicious and cozy to sit inside. Thanks to their fun and eclectic wait staff and bartenders who live to share secret menu items and drinks. The customers tend to be the locals who love to keep this not so secret spot to themselves. It's the unassuming location In a mini mall that makes it seem impossible to think it can actually put forth a damn good meal at a very affordable price. Do eat the French Dip sando with cheese and beer battered fries! Pastrami is ok, but it needs a bit more flavor. I prefer consistent, thin cuts and if the pieces are thick I like peppery bits over just the cured meat slices. The food was pretty good. They don't skimp on the Avocado! Milkshakes also decent! Customer service...eh. 2 different girls came to help me and neither really seemed to want to take my order to go. I paid for it but I didn't notice until I got home that they didn't include it. That's my fault for not checking my bag, however after waiting 40ish minutes I would expect my order to be accurate. The burger is always cooked medium well, which is too well done for me. I like a little pink and feel it gives it more flavor when cooked medium or even medium rare. While the patty itself lacked a bit of flavor, the rest of the sandwich was pretty bland, as well. The 1000 island dressing was minimal and undetectable on my sandwich, so it was very bland.
