This is by far the worst Subway I have ever been to. Less than 50% of normal additions assortment , pretty much nothing to choose from. Soda machine is broken and almost no drinks in the fridge. No AC inside so pretty much impossible to be there. I don't know how that location passes being part of otherwise good franchise. Avoid at all costs. read more

Poor guy worked all weekend Saturday and Sunday by himself. I came in Sunday and felt sorry for him. He was running around doing everything. I did notice that the weekend in Astoria Oregon there were so many people in town. The one employee told me he did not sit down all day. He was very kind and still was positive that Sunday night after finishing a two-day marathon. I know subway only requires 1 employee by law if it is compatible. 'I had to look it up." This is an overwhelming job when you are doing multiple stations of running the till, the drive through, door dash, multiple customers coming in and everything going all at once. Overwhelming, not to mention working on the weekends in a busy costal town. I was amazed he could keep it up, but it is taking advantage of your employee. "Good for him if he does quit" I don't blame him. Personally, I would have locked the door and just left if I was treated like that. Who is the owner of this establishment or manager where are they? What if he got robbed or got hurt. There is no other person there for him. This is inhumane. Other subways have 2 or even 3 employees working at the same time to keep up with the demand. Good sandwich. Friendly customer service but definitely not super professional. Many issues with the till and money drops and training. One employee was out smoking so the person in front of me went to the place next door, I would have too but I had ate there for lunch. Just a little unprofessional and the way the girl talked to the guy when she got back from her "smoke break" was not how I would talk in front of customers. But my food was fine. read more

I went to get a sandwich the other day and the employees were out side smoking. I went in and they came in another door. I immediately smelled cigarette smoke coming from the person who was going to make my meal. That certainly ruined my appetite. So I probably won't go back. read more

When you walk into a Subway you expect quality and hygiene and uniforms. My husband and I went yesterday and the 2 guys behind the counter were dirty and gross, one of them wearing a tank top with his arm pit hairs hanging all over the bain. Out of all the Subway locations I've ever been to, this one easily has the oldest tasting bread of the bunch. I know it's only Subway, and it's almost ridiculous to pass judgment upon them, but "baked fresh daily" is a huge part of their marketing plan. Sure, the subs are an entire foot long. But they also suck. So, in the end, is it really worth it? I've had a lot of great steak and cheese subs before, but none of them were made in a microwave. read more

New ownership caused business to go down hill. Understaffed at times or staff are rude and ignore you. Can't keep good help. One staff person didn't have mask on, she said she was on break. If that was the case, she shouldn't have been in the back with other employees without a mask on. read more

I have never had a GREAT experience here but nothing too bad. Until yesterday...we were the only customers there, yet there were no employees in sight. We waited a few minutes and finally a young man came to help us. This is nothing against him (he seemed very nervous), but clearly he has never made a sandwich before as he had to ask us which bread was what, he didn't know which meat was turkey so had us tell him, and so on with the sauces, etc. He admitted to being new, but we could hear his coworkers in the back talking and laughing. It's unreal that they sent someone, alone, to make food when he has clearly not been trained to do so. I was traveling through Astoria and decided to pick up a sandwich... I went through the drive thru and got stuck behind someone placing an order... that took at least 5 minutes. I drove up, the guy on the other end thanked me for shopping Subway and said he'd be right with me... I proceeded to wait and wait and wait. After TEN MINUTES, I got sick of it and drove up to the front of the place... some dude walked out laughing like a fool and told me that he had dropped his head set "in a bucket of water." WHAT?! I pointed out that I had been there for a long flipping time and he said he didn't know I was there... I brought up that he had spoken to me when I had driven up and he just laughed it off and asked if I still wanted a sandwich. The answer was no. I would rather get kicked in the face than have this person touch my food. read more

I would honestly give this location a 2.5 Star rating. Subway is a great place to get a basic sandwich especially when they are running their $5 Footlong Deals for any sandwich. Sadly, their regular prices are not as desirable considering the quality (generic / prefab). Like with most places here on the coast, service has either been top notch or laughable. With attentive "sandwich artists" who pay attention and get the job done being more and more rare, service lately has been pretty weak and detached. We did get some free entertainment one afternoon when our "artist" who was only on the job for a couple of weeks, gave us a wild and wonderful show. Granted she was excited and friendly, but her mood was brought to us by a case of cooked Sudafed in a trailer in Chinook (just across the river) Her sandwich making METHod was as follows. Speak at a rapid rate and laugh constantly and nervously. TWEAKed the ingredients so they all fit on the bread. Make the sandwich while twitching and having alternate random conversations with herself. Dropping three sandwiches on the floor as you attempt to take them over to the toasting oven. REPEAT. Yes, folks, she dropped our sandwiches....all 3 of them..... twice. At least she was consistent I suppose. Thankfully, a more experienced "artist" took over and ensured that we got our order. By the grace of her work HABITS, I am sure that it was WARRANTed that she move on to other pastures. Wanted a meatball sub last night and had to audacity to drive to Subway and order one. Get a craving for one of these about once a year. After racking out my brains making the tough decisions about types of bread and cheese, consulting my Magic 8 Ball, doing a small pagan jig to inspire wisdom, & beginning to imagine the taste of the meaty and cheesy goodness in bondage between two slices of fresh, "we bake it here...well err, we heat it up here bread"..... Decided to order online from this Subway for a Saturday afternoon pickup. We ordered 2, 12-inch sandwiches. They were ready on time, which was great; however, when I got home I realized both sandwiches were prepared improperly. It wasn't just that the bread was wrong, it was that the bread was wrong, the sauces were wrong, and the toppings were wrong! Called them about the incorrect order and they told us they were willing to correct it. We drove 15 minutes back to the subway, got more attitude than desired on pickup, but the sandwiches were correct. No attempt to compensate us in any way. No apologies. Overall, not thrilled with the experience. Lesson learned - check the sandwiches before driving away. read more

I recently visited this location. The lady in front of me placed her order, the young man was in the process of making her sandwich. The manager (Jeff) who was cleaning and restocking questioned the amount of meat on the sandwich, the young man explained that the lady had ordered double meat. The manager then went on to admonish the young man, the lady interjected that the sandwich did have 4 level scoops of meat. The manager then addressed the lady that he was the manager and that "they" were on him to make sure that the right amount of meat was being put on the sandwiches. I appreciate that these guidelines must be followed, what I don't appreciate is the way the manager talked to his employee in front of everyone in the restaurant. I have been in the food service industry for 25 years and while I don't agree that the customer is always right, you should treat them as if they are and that a manager should address employee performance in private. read more
