Every time I visit my Dad, he has a list of places he wants to eat since he doesn't drive anymore. This was on the list. I know, don't judge. He enjoyed his Whopper Jr, no onions (2 for $5), fries and strawberry shake. I ate the other Whopper Jr, this one with cheese and remember now why I don't eat here. I thought my experiences were isolated incidents (2) but after reading all the 1 star reviews it seems like this place is consistently sub par. We went through the drive through and fortunately my friend who cannot eat dairy double checked her order. We went into the place and asked for a replacement and they actually got that order wrong too. The final straw was when we went in, ordered our food and it still took the staff 3 tries to get our order right after waiting over half an hour. The wifi is so inefficient that one order I placed came in a half hour later after we already got our food. How many chances can you give a place??!! read more

When you go to Burger King, you have to keep your expectations in check. Its Burger King after all. You are not going to get top-notch service or Michellin-starred food. Its fast food. Having said that, there is a baseline level of quality that is expected. Especially after the recent fast food price increases. Remember the old days when fast food was the cheap option? Well, that's not the case anymore. I typically can't get out of here for less than $15 these days, which is a bit of shame. The service at this Burger King is middle of the road. It takes a while in the lobby to get recognized and assisted when no one is there, which is common. The food quality is decent for a Burger King. Came here today with the gf since she had a free whopper promo to use. We went up to the registers, and was promptly ignored for a bit before the manager showed up to ring us up. Wasn't a big deal since I understand being busy and the need to multitask, but there was no apology for the wait or even mention of it. The gf tried to use a free whopper promo, but the manager informed her that they could not apply the promo code provided in the format it was presented. I don't fault them for this since this is clearly an issue between the issuer of the promo and BK corporate, however she was rather rude about it and promptly walked away afterwards and ignored both us and the rest of the line which had formed behind us for a good 5mins before coming back in her grumpy mood. After we paid, apparently their registers was having issues printing out receipts, because instead of a receipt, she just used some register tape to write down our order # and proceeded to hand it to us. No apologize or mention that the registers were malfunctioning. As if not getting a receipt was perfectly normal. At the very least however, the food order came out correct and the whoppers we received were pretty well put together and quite delicious! The inside tables could use some more cleaning as there were definitely crumbs everywhere, but overall the interior was fairly clean. The outside trash cans however definitely needed some love as they were all overflowing with trash. You'll also have to ask for extra napkins and condiments, as those are all kept behind the counter. read more

What is this? 5 stars for a fast food burger place that is not Down n Out burger? First I need to say that this review is from when I last ate there, which was about 6 months ago. My consciousness got the better of me, so finally I write. I had not been to this location since I moved out of the area about 6 years ago. It was late at night, was driving through town, and was needing something to hold me over for the long drive ahead. They had a really good deal going on at the time for something like 2 burgers for 5 dollars, and they had different types. I had two spoiled and hungry dogs with me, so yeah I ordered 2 burgers and a fish sandwich for myself. The wait at the window was a bit long, but hey I had all night, and getting a fresh off-the-grill burger was worth a few minutes of my life. The guy working there was friendly. I think maybe a manager, because of the clothes. I have not eaten red meat for over a year, but the burgers smelled so good, I was hungry, am a bad person, and I am sure the Donner Party would have appreciated them. So I took a couple of bites in memory of the Donner Party, and they did not disappoint. The whole sandwich tasted fresh, just the right amount of condiments, and tasted as good as they smelled. I had to turn them over to the two drool buckets behind me because my hair was getting wet. The fish sandwich was a tad bit disappointing because the sauce recipe seemed different than what I remember. But then again Ive had Covid a few times, so maybe my taste buds are still wacky. I ordered a HAM AND CHEESE Croissant, no egg. And a large ICED MOCHA. She then asks what size I want the mocha. .......... Listennnn. What did I get? A large milk with sugar. And a sausage and EGG croissant. I did not order sausage nor egg. I opted not to get the 2 for $5 because I don't like to waste food and I knew I couldn't eat 2, but now I'm wasting food because the rude lady doesn't listen. Isn't that like, your main job? In order to take orders, you NEED TO LISTEN. The sandwich was dry and flakey af, so I had crumbs all over myself and my car when I got to work. As usual, I expected to get cold fries and a burnt patty squished between two buns with mayo when I've asked to "hold the mayo" But holy moly, the BK chef working tonight was the BOMB! Without being nudged, she/he/they loaded up my whopper with pickles, onions, a decent tomato, crisp lettuce, and ketchup. The fries were hot, crisp and fresh! How do I give a negative star? I have been coming here since the pandemic started with my partner and picking up two mobile orders through the drive through window with no problem because there's always two of us and I don't want to expose us unnecessarily. The lady taking orders (whose rude customer service I've experienced here before) was real short about only allowing one mobile order pickup per car. I've worked drive through, in normal times I get it. If this is now the policy I think it is dumb because that also unnecessarily exposes the workers. But more importantly I was just disgusted with the service in relaying the policy. Once I went in because I was forced to just pick up one order in the drive through, I saw the same nasty attitude with other customers as I patiently waited my turn in line. I know these jobs can be tough, but especially since people are losing jobs and restaurants are suffering, please do better to attract customers and not turn them away. I will download the app or bring the coupons or mail you via postal. There's always great deal to look for and sometimes you can get a combo for very cheap price if you use the coupon. Burger King fries are always really good I would suggest getting them with no salt. Service here is pretty good actually. I enjoy their chicken nugget, however the salads don't seem too fresh. The Hispanic woman in the drive through was being extremely rude and playing games. I had 2 separate orders and spent over $50. She kept messing up the first order and was being sarcastic. The conversation went like this.. I asked for marinara sauce for my cheese sticks and she gave me a strawberry jam... She asked me what drink I wanted and I said lemonade... She told me that that Burger King never had lemonade and never will. Funny because I get it every single time I go there (and I've been to that particular restaurant more than five times in the past month). Pretty shocked at all the negative reviews. I came here on Saturday 3/4/17 for lunch and received great customer service. There was a younger male at the cash register, and he was friendly and accommodating. Food all came out piping hot and they were not skimpy about giving sauces. Only con is that the tables needed to be wiped down a bit. Overall, good for what BK should be! Definitely come in with coupons if you want to save a few bucks. read more

As the other Yelpers can attest, this Burger King location in El Cerrito has been on a roll in getting our orders wrong. Today it happened to me again. I always order a number two combo from Burger King, a double Texas Patty Whopper with fries and a medium drink. I'm not sure which part of number two they don't understand, but the first time I ordered my combo through their drive thru, I discovered I had been given the wrong sandwich, a single patty Whopper. By the time I found out their mistake, I was miles away. I was also irked by the fact that I payed extra for a double Whopper I did not receive. Today I decided to walk in and ordered directly at the counter. The young Latina cashier didn't seem to understand my order at first, but when I pointed to the picture of the number two combo on their large TV screen, she seemed to get it. I checked my order upon getting the bag and it seemed in order. However, upon opening my sandwich at a nearby park, I found a fried chicken sandwich! Teenage Hunger. Hardly a few hours had gone by yesterday after a very filling Asian lunch at The Door in Walnut Creek, and the kids says he's "starving"! He's also done a thorough job of cleaning out the fridge, despite my best Safeway efforts. So I figured I'd get him something fast as McDonalds, except our Berkeley branch is closed for renovation. So it's off to Burger King, although the Nations across the street has better burgers. There's also Jack/Box and KFC just a block away, but I didn't need anymore fast food options. I ordered lightly off the dollar menu and the kid (and friend who was over) thought it was just fine.
