I've been disappointed in the Albany Taco Bell since it changed ownership. Today was my last visit. Walked in to the restaurant and team was having some hang out/meeting. A Team Member there was sitting on the counter where they have placed my order after calling my name in the past and she was scratching her rear end. This is where they place your food! Never experienced such horrible service at a Taco Bell before today. Wanted to feed the kids after playing at the park before heading for ice cream so we stopped at this location since it was in between and the kids would eat. When I venture to this location, I have only ordered via drive thru. Today, I wanted the girls to sit and eat so we ordered inside. My sister and I stood in front of the register for over 10 min and was never acknowledged. Yes, I did time it since I received a text shortly after walking inside. There was no line, no one in front of us and no one in drive thru. The cashier was in the corner on her phone and the person making orders was there when we walked inside then disappeared. We decided to order on the kiosk, when it came time to check out my sister selected cash. With this method you have to wait for the cashier to process your payment before your order is placed. We waited a little over 5 min - nothing. So I replaced the order and paid by card. As we were walking away to sit down the cashier approached the register and asked if we wanted to finish paying for our order. I replied, "You took too long, we replaced our order, you were too busy on your phone." When they called my name, the person who presented the drinks was kind and friendly. The woman who called again for the food carried a sour look as though she had been on the receiving end of such horrible service. The burritos did not have the extras paid for and both quesadillas had sauce we selected as none. Horrible customer service, horrible people skills, horrible food. This location has been going downhill for years. I live just up the street, but it's gotten so bad that the employees literally do not speak English. If you think I'm exaggerating, go through the drive-thru at the Albany Taco Bell and try placing an order yourself. Twice in the past week, I've gone to Taco Bell, and both times, the person taking my order genuinely did not speak English--not even a little. She didn't understand basic words like "soft taco" "potato," "lettuce," or "cheese." I'm not being dramatic or figurative; they did not speak any English. I'm a diehard Taco Bell fan. I literally have Taco Bell tattooed on my knuckles with my favorite Taco Bell items on each one. At one point, I even planned on getting married at Taco Bell. Lately, I've been on a TBell craze and since this location is the closest to me, I've had many opportunities to try veganized versions of the menu items. Mexican Pizza: order it with black beans subbed for the meat and NO cheese. Make sure to specify that you still want the refried beans on there. There should be no extra charge! This is one of my favorite things to get at TBell. It tastes delicious and it's easy to order. The first time I ordered this, they got my order wrong and put cheese on it. That was frustrating, so make sure to check your food before taking a bite. "Cheesy" Bean and Rice burrito: This is another favorite of mine. It's on the $1 menu (hallelujah) but I make some adjustments to it and it ends up costing ($1.95 not including tax). I ask for NO cheese sauce and NO jalapeno sauce. I ADD lettuce, tomatoes, and potatoes. The end result is a delicious and quite filling burrito. YUM! Cinnamon Twists: These are "accidentally" vegan! They're like churros for dieters. Lite and airy, these twists are a great dessert or treat. They are also on the $1 menu. HIGHLY recommend TBell. This location tends to draw a high school crowd and some homeless individuals as well, but it is one of the nicer-looking TBells. Hands down the best Taco Bell in the East Bay. Don't get me wrong it's just Taco Bell, not a Michelin rated meal or anything but that said... 1. Maybe the most consistently kind customer service I've ever experienced in a fast food setting. (I hope management is paying them enough to retain them). 2. They're quick even during peak hours. 3. No potatoes that should have been tossed out hours ago. No missing ingredients. No unwrapping your burrito to find beans and cheese exploded everywhere making it impossible to eat in a car. I drive for a living and it forces me to eat take away most meals. I frequently drive out of my way to visit this location just so I know I can fill my belly without a bunch of nonsense. Every morning i get a cup filled with ants i think the ants are after the sticky syrup in the nozzles maybe some hot water in a cup can steam them out. I dont have any allergies to them and im unsure if someone else does just looking out for you guys i worked for yum foods under harman trisler KFC and Harmon bob black KFC and know how this works. It should come from the top. I can now tell you that i know how ants taste "spicy" i have pictures of each visit showing a daily blog of the new pets included in my meal. After waiting in drive thru for 40 mins, they not only got my order wrong, the two taco supremes were more than half empty and the shells were both cracked so hard to eat the 5 bites that they were, and the burrito supreme was also much smaller than should be and almost all flour tortilla with hardly any content...super disappointed and won't be going back. read more

I've swung by this place through the drive-thru many times during my commute since pre-covid. Then I stopped for about a year because of SIP and WFH. Pre-Covid, they were passable, still a bit slow but my order was correct when I arrived at the window. I believe they had Indian owners then(?). Flash forward to this past month. I drove through there again since last year. The service has gotten even slower, I'm talking like glacier speed. And the weird thing is that NO other customer is there when I arrive, inside or out, so there's no excuse for this slowness. One of the new employees barely speaks understandable English (very hard to understand when ordering through that mic outside) and I suspect she can't operate the register as well because she was confounded when I gave her my debit card or Apple pay. I think she had to go call someone who knew how that worked, so I waited even longer. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I decided to give them one last chance. What happened? I waited again, like 10-15 minutes in the drive thru. There was only one car ahead of me, none in back and when I got to the window, I could could see that the restaurant was empty inside. Getting hungry at this point and what does that woman tell me? "Our register is not working", as I was ready to scan my iphone. Why didn't she tell me that before I ordered? So good customer service dictates, you'd comp the food to the customer and apologize for the long wait and inconvenience. But no such thing today. She just stood there with her arms crossed and said "Ima, sorry, no werking". I sped outta there like a bat out of hell! I think I'll just eat at home from now on.
