He said it tasted like an old school burger with new school prices. My oldest son had the Jr deluxe cheeseburger. It was a nice size and he liked it. My youngest son who is a very pickey eater, ordered the Frito pie. I was surprised that he wanted that, but he really enjoyed it. We were also given free Cheese stuffers for checking in (it actually wasn't free because you had to order a bacon cheeseburger combo which was nearly $9 in order to redeem the offer). They were good. It reminded me of Tatar tots with small pieces of jalapeños-not spicy which was a plus. Our food was made fresh and served hot. The staff was very pleasant. Bae got curly fries which were fresh and crispy and I got the tater tots which I believe were cooked to perfection. The inside is small it just had 2 tables and a small eating bar but there are tables outside and they have a drive thru. Not much to really say about this place. I'm not a huge fan. I went on a busy Thursday afternoon and got the Cheese Burger special. All-in-all, it was not very good. The burger was thin, overcooked, and not much flavor. The fixins just didn't taste right either and the bun was stale. It took a while to get the food, but my fries were cold and those were not very good either. The guys were decently nice behind the register/in the kitchen. I was thinking maybe I caught them on an off day....however you slice it I'll have to pass. There are so many other great burger joints around. There are a few benches outside and few bars and stools inside but it was extremely hot to be comfortable. We were greeted very pleasantly by the person who took our order. My husband ordered the cheese burger which was average- he did request the lettuce and tomatoes to be placed on the side but instead we got the regular cheese burger with all the condiments and veges and extra lettuce and tomatoes in another box ( perhaps they did not understand what we requested). I remember like it was yesterday when I first heard about and tried Burger Street. It was the Summer of 1986 in North Richland Hills, TX. I have tried a lot of cheeseburgers over the years and like most of them. Being from Texas, many people favor Whataburger. Althought WB is fairly good in my opinion, Burger Street is hands down "THE BEST" fast food burger anywhere! It's always fresh, wrapped in paper, piping hot, and flavored just right. It's the only hamburger place that uses Romaine lettuce and other high quality ingredients. These days, I live in Addison and visit the store on Midway Rd. After all these years, it's exactly the same as it was in the 80's. The employees are always courteous and the service is good. As far as fast food burger places, only Braum's comes close to Burger Street. I love Five Guys but don't consider them fast food because there is no drive thru window. My husband decided to go on the quest for the best burger. Our first stop was here. We quit looking. Seriously the burger is so big (double) so good, so, so goo, so juicy. The fries are funnel cake like, so GOOD OH MY GOODNESS. And they're curly, which childhood has taught us is the best way to have fries. My husband and I can split the double combo and feel stuffed. I know there are a wealth of amazing burger options in DFW with new ones popping up every day (i.e. Shake Shack, Liberty Burger, Grub Burger, Village Burger, Five Guy etc...) but my favorite since I was a kid has always been Burger Street. And no matter what new Burger place I try that all the foodies buzz about, I have yet to have anything that tops Burger Street. It's nothing fancy...just a good old fashioned greasy delicious burger that is the epitome of what every good burger should be. The fries and tots are always perfectly crispy and delicious. And the chili cheese dog is out of this world! Burger Street is and probably always will be #1 in my book. Just wish there were more locations so I could enjoy it more often. read more
