This place is packed at lunchtime, but dead for dinner but not because they have mediocre burgers. Super fast service and burgers I'd drive across town for!! The burger Tex is a great place for a relaxing laid back burger. I very much enjoyed my burger and for the price it was very good. I only did not care for having to place my own condiments on it. Most people do not have a problem with that, and I will say the condiments were very fresh. The fries were also very good. read more

Omg I've been in Houston 5 years I'm from Dallas we have some of the best burger shacks back home I stumbled across this one and I'm so hooked the buns are so soft. I got the bacon double I believe lol it was great. I asked for my fries to be in a separate container with hot cheese sauce I got the fries but I didn't receive the cheese I took it to go so I rushed home to enjoy it while it was hot.. I have been a huge fan and regular customer since early 2013. I have waited in the long lines and I have enjoyed the food immensely. I have also referred dozens of co-workers and clients over the past 2 years so I will give 3 stars despite my experience this afternoon. Today, I go through the drive-thru and the lady that normally takes my order isn't there. Bummer because she's always been friendly, has a big smile on her face, and I like her! I give my regular order (4 oz burger, no cheese, small fry, and a cup of cheese) which I have never paid more than $6 for but today, it was all of the sudden $6.80 with the combo being $8.10. I asked why the combo seems less expensive and the burger and fry more expensive and of course the response is that they went up on their prices 3 months ago (I didn't even notice until today?) and that the combo is specially priced? Well, it wasn't a problem before. I haven't ever ordered the combo because I drink water with my meal and see no point in paying for a soda or tea that I won't drink. I'm very disappointed in the way the lady first charged me for just a burger with cheese and no fries ($5.40), then came back and asked for $1.40 more because she forgot to add the fries. The lady made me feel like I was the problem because I questioned why she was asking for more money when she wrote down my order and then rang me up on the register. Basically, after this, I will no longer refer my co-workers and clients to Burger Tex. They have officially lost a loyal customer. Just to spoil the mood even more for me, the fries were soggy and not the crinkle fries. Just so sad! read more

well my gf kinda had been trying to get me to try this place for quite a while since it reviews were so good but me judging a book by its cover thought it was gonna be like every other burger joint and always blew it off. so i go the bulgogi burger and it was wonderful. meat is very juicy and the bread was just right. if your looking for a great burger substitute i would definitely recommend the bulgogi burger read more

If you're looking for a simple old fashion burger, this place serves up one of the best I've ever eaten. Nothing fancy or gourmet about it. I recommend the #2 combo for $9. Fresh toasted bun with crunchy bacon on top of a 6 oz seasoned patty. Their set up is similar to Fuddruckers with a condiment station. Combo comes with regular frozen crinkle fries and a drink. Okay, I can't really call this a "best" burger, but it is a pretty darn good burger and well worth a stop & try. The burgers are flavorful and the buns are fresh-fresh-fresh. The fixings are set out to fix your burger the way you like, and although there aren't a lot of obscure options, just offering the fixings is a nice touch and very welcome. And the items are fresh and the entire place is quite clean. I was also glad to see a steady flow of folks coming & going for Saturday lunch. I have been to two Burger Tex locations and of the two, this one was outstanding. I eat here for lunch here and there when I want a good burger. Burgers are good, I like crinkle cut fries and they make them well. Good onion rings, you build your own burger. They have the Bulgogi Burger which reminds me a bit of steak ums if steak ums was much better...its got a bit of a sweet taste from a sauce but it works. So, in all, good solid burger, mostly self service, in a little place so at lunch on weekdays its PACKED. If you like burgers with good homemade buns, this will be a good place to eat. read more

By far the best burger in the area. We come often for work lunches and the buns are what keeps everyone talking and coming back. There is also a fresh condiment bar and seasoned salt on the crinkle fries which is delicious. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area!
