To be fair, this is really a review of just one item on the menu. I moved away from Oregon 5 years ago, and have always raved that 'for the best chicken strips ever, you really need to go to Oregon and try Burgerville'. You can't imagine my dismay when, on a recent visit to Portland, I stopped in for my favorite treat. Just looking down at my tray, I knew something had changed. One bite, and I was done. If you have a winning recipe, DON'T CHANGE. Remember the 'New Coke' fiasco, when Coke tried to taste more like Pepsi? The new chicken finger recipe is that kind of disappointing. I thought BV was suppose to be a better than average fast-food burger joint, but I have been less impressed over time. I just tried their Wild Smoked Salmon Salad, but could not believe how small it was: measuring only 4" wide. The plastic spoon was over half as much longer than the bowl. I felt like I needed to order 2 of these to have a whole salad, but that would have cost nearly $10. Clearly this was a issue of false advertising, since that is not what they show in the photos at the order station: with a much wider bowl and large chunks of salmon. Not just tiny shreds of possible fish meat. I could go to most any Chinese restaurant and get more for less. read more

Its like if in N out had a cousin. And I stopped ordering fires cause 3 out of 4 times they were stale. But beside that coo places.

We have eaten at Burgerville for years and always loved it. This evening we went to the Burgerville on Allen Blvd. and per usual ordered 2 3 piece fish and chips. After we got home we were aghast at the serving size and the actual fish pieces. It looked like they were a child's size order and looked like they came from the frozen food section of the grocery store. Some of the fries were under cooked and the fish was awful!! Unlike the huge battered fish we have been used to. Needless to say our money was wasted and we will NEVER eat at this Burgerville again. I would give it a -1 if I could!!! read more

So, I love to drink bliss shakes but everytime I go during the evening I am told the bliss machine is "being cleaned" or "down" I have talked to the manager over the phone and was told it's never supposed to be closed till 10pm. I suspect this is done behind the managers back this has happened at least 20 times to my friends and I easily this is bad business practice and I don't like being lied to read more

I really like coming to this Burgerville. It is probably my favorite fast food place because the ingredients are local and fresh and the burgers are excellent. The fish sandwich is yummy and the bean burger has great taste. The milkshakes are amazing with fresh strawberries, marionberries or blackberries when they are in season. They have outdoor seating, which is really nice to have as an option when the weather is nice. We'll continue to be repeat customers. read more

Every time I've ever came here, I felt like my order got messed up. Either my burgers, fries (sweet potato fries were normal potatoes), my milkshake messed up, or something.. Like they'd blend two orders when I tried to make two seperate ones. I agree with Elise K, they don't seem like they know what they're doing half the time. I can forgive one incident, but I've had multiple incidents. People say Burgerville is the best burger place in Portland, but I dont see it. This Burgerville location is a bit difficult to navigate because it is crammed into a small property on the corner of two busy roads (Allen and Scholls Ferry). Parking is a challenge and the drive-thru window is normally a bit slow. Cars sometimes back onto the road. The service inside has been good and the food is typically Burgerville...better than standard fast food and focused on local ingredients. read more

I'm sad that Burgerville® employees are required to stay until 11 PM, even though it seems like the place is dead for hours. And then I imagine how awful it must feel on a night when people actually do come in at 10:50 PM ordering more food to give them acid reflux and indigestion. As far as fast food restaurants go I'm thoroughly impressed with Burgerville. Their burgers were large and incredibly cheap. The fries tasted very fresh, and weren't loaded with oil. Everything was clean and orderly and simple. But best of all, the food felt like such a huge improvement in quality over McDonalds or Burger King; I wasn't hesitant to order again. Perhaps the best fast food restuarant in all of beaverton. This place offers exactly what is advertised quick, greasy, american slam food. They also offer potentially the most pleasant drive thru service around. The only atrocity they are guilty of committing is offering waffle fries only as a seasonal option. I mean how hard would it be to offer them year round. This hog needs those criss-cross cut golden fluffy and delicous piping hot fries year round. read more

For a fast food burger joint, this place is super friendly with fresh ingredients and a great price. Small burger patties, but they do offer an extra patty for a charge, which I recommend. The portion of the fries could be bigger, but the fries themselves are tasty. At 6:30AM, I am usually waited on by Cindy A. at the drive-thru; she is always extremely friendly and efficient even offering a water with lemon while waiting for my cooked-to-order scrambled eggs, 2 hash browns, english muffin, and choice of bacon, ham, or sausage for ONLY $5.19! It's just a great deal that if more people knew about it, I think a certain clown named Ronald would have nothing to do during the breakfast rush. I am astounded by the kindness just shown to me at this Burgerville! I'm a neighbor, who lives pretty close, and this Burgerville drive-through is a go-to on busy days for me (I visit maybe once every 3 weeks on the average). Today I'm workig hard, no time to stop to make lunch, so I decided to pop in here. I drive through, order, then realize that my wallet is not in my bag. This is a Northwestern fast food Chain that only has locations throughout Northern Oregon and Washington. They aren't spectacular or anything, but I think it's pretty cool that they use so many local ingredients and specialties in their food. They have halibut burgers, marionberry and hazelnut milkshakes made with real icecream, pretty decent burgers with Tillamook cheese, sweet potato french fries and other unique things. I recommend trying it out if you are visiting the area. read more

Quality of this place has gone down- hill. They now place the burgers in a warmer which is why the meat is always cold. After getting tired of cold burgers I talked to a manager who said they were sorry. I stayed away for three months and decided one night when I wanted a burger that was close to my house to give it another shot. I went inside and told the person that takes the order that I had many bad experiences in the past with cold food and could they please make it hot. She looked at me and said no problem we are grilling them fresh right now. About five minutes later my food came out cold and when the person that took our order came by and asked how it was I told her cold no change. She said oh my I'm sorry next time ask them to cook it fresh. Gee I thought I had covered that already. I contacted Burgerville offices by e-mail and they did respond to me very quickly and said they were sorry and that they would check into it. They also offered a gift card which I turned down as I told them I don't plan on going back. They are overpriced for cold burgers. Too bad I missed Burgerville when I lived outside of the NW for 12 years. They need to take lessons from Inn & Out & Make it to order. Also noticed issues with cooks handling meat with bare hands and not washing hands after touching other items. I come here a lot but I complain every time. The burgers are good but I swear the actual meat is getting smaller and smaller every time. The Tillamook bacon cheeseburger is my favorite. U used to love the cheeseburger with the special sauce but the burger is so small now you taste sauce and bread and that's it. The shakes are amazing. The fries are good ..especially the sweet potato fries. However I think they are way overpriced for the quality they are putting out now . And the quantity. Burgerville food is always good. I'm reviewing this specific chain. I had business meeting in the area and wanted a tillamook cheeseburger for lunch. I had a 2 hour break between the meetings, so I may have stayed a bit after eating. It was busy, not complaining. They forgot about my order, not complaining. Had to tell staff about me being forgotten, got a funny look. Took them 20-30 minutes to complete my order, patience is getting tested. Guy sends me the veggie burger, a bit annoyed by this mistake (how do you mistake tillamook with veggie burger? Burger vile microwaves their veggie patties too so I have doubts they misread my order). I tell the staff that I ordered a tillamook burger, hoping they won't spit in it. I get my tillamook. I then see Beaverton police show up talking to the manager. I also see the manager pointing at me with the police. The police officer then walks up to me and says, "sir this restaurant is for paying customers." I replied, "Am I not a paying customer sir? Here is my receipt." Officer responds, "I'm terribly sorry, we were told that you were trying to sneak some extra food from the counter. Carry on." Not only did they made the mistake of forgetting my order and giving me the wrong friggin burger, they thought I was a crook and called the cops on me for thinking I was trying to steal from them. read more
