This was my first time ordering the tonkatsu donburi with curry sauce. I thought the rice and curry was good but the tonkatsu itself was not edible. It was both undercooked and overcooked at the same time. The meat was super hard and overcooked and the breading was pale and not browned.

Review is for the food truck, when I saw them at the Presido Tunnel Tops. The truck is a nice shade of blue, can't miss it. There's one window for both ordering and pickups, so it can be a little crowded when folks are ordering or waiting on their order and everyone is around the same window. There's a small amount of condiments on the side. I usually go for one of the rolls, which are a few notches above Safeway for sure. But this time, I got the miso pork ramen, which is pretty okay, but not something I would go to the truck/location specifically to grab. Could have been hotter, but hey, it's solid ramen from a food truck and if you're choosing between multiple food trucks and happen to be grabbing lunch with it as an option, I don't think you can go wrong with Buri Buri. Ramen was packed well. I took a few first bites nearby the truck, but I had no trouble relocating with my friends and walking a fair amount with it without spilling.

    Shrimp Tempura Roll

A pleasant Japanese food truck with a limited menu highlighting rice-centric dishes. Nothing novel or ground breaking here, but still comforting. It was nice to see how fresh veggies were highlighted in each dish, but not dominating the dish. Shrimp Tempura Roll: While I'm always a little hesitant to order sushi from a truck, there was no raw fish in this roll so I felt fine about it. Turned out to be delicious! Seemed made-to-order, since the tempura coating on the shrimp was still crispy. Paired nicely with the crunchy cucumber and sticky rice. Also, loved the slightly sweet and slightly salty sauce on top. Curry Tonkatsu: More fried goodness, this time in chicken cutlet form. Crispy all around and tastes great dipping into that curry sauce. Lots of spices in the curry, though kinda mild on the chili heat. The tender onions, carrots and zucchini added a perfect freshness to the curry. Meanwhile, the steamed broccoli outside of the curry was very meh. Tons of rice, more than there was enough curry for, so ended up not finishing all the carbs.

Teri-Chicken Bento w/CA Roll and Green Tea $20 This meal was standard for the bill of fare - which is delicious. Chicken was a bit salty and the sauce was sweet. Those complimented nicely. There was .75 lbs of meat. With everything else on the plate - I got 2 meals out of it. Lots of sticky white rice. It was freshly cooked. Broccoli, steamed and a bit al dente. CA roll - standard. All dishes were made upon order. Service was quick and responsive. Value - plate weighed close to 2 lbs. Food - 3.5 Service - 3.5 Value - 4. Would def do it again.

There was no one else there when I arrived around 8pm on a weeknight. They have the typical mexican fare on the menu and I got a burrito and some carne asada tacos. The food was ready pretty quicky and even though they had some tables set up there, it was too cold so I took it back to my hotel 10 minutes away. The food was still piping hot and the meat was amazing! You could really taste the smoke and that's what did it for me. The size of the burrito was huge and I couldn't finish it, shifting my focus on the tacos as those were better. They come with cilantro and onions and packed with limes, but you need to grab your own salsa before you go from their salsa bar. I highly recommend this place!

Pleasantly surprised by what we would find. My nephew asked if the beef tongue was good but they weren't understanding so we just ordered one. He also got a carne asada taco and I got a mulita. They have a sala bar with cucumbers/radish, pickled onion and salsas. I had to try them all. They call you when it's ready. The beef tongue looked very interesting so we were skeptical about it. But after trying it, we were pleasantly surprised and he enjoyed it the most of the 2 tacos he got. The multia was only grilled on 1 side and the other tortilla was just slapped on top. All the other places we go to they grill both sides. It did have a nice cheese layer on it though. Good but would have preferred both sides grilled. Salas were good as well. I didn't get my receipt though but oh well. SYOY!

I ordered the mixed seafood platter along with a side of onion rings and fried zucchini sticks to share. I would give the seafood platter a 5/5. Everything was fried nicely and the fish really hit the spot for me. The fried calamari were also pretty unique and had a great texture. The real standout for me though was the onion rings. They were lightly battered, perfectly crispy, and honestly some of the best onion rings I've had in a while. I'd definitely come back just for those alone. Unfortunately, the fried zucchini sticks were just not very good. Not only were they very mushy on the inside, they also carried a strange aftertaste that I didn't enjoy at all. Service-wise, the owner was very friendly and welcoming, and the food came out pretty quickly even though we were some of the first customers of the day. The ambiance is very casual since it's a food truck setup, but the fruit stand right next to it gives the place a nice local charm and makes it a pleasant spot for a quick lunch.

I'm not above driving certain distances to find a particular truck I want to eat at. My strangeness aside, I was very interested in trying out this particular food truck gathering. The trucks change every week, but I recently went and two of the trucks were dedicated to southern style food. I'm from the east coast and a state that's typically classified as southern. I'm also used to more southern style foods so I was on guard. Tried a BBQ truck and one that specializes in chicken and waffles. I'll start with the chicken and waffles. Got the bites with bacon and on first taste was in love. Love. With chicken and waffle bites (the bacon doh). They hit the seasoning just right it was the perfect sweet and savory balance. Plus the guy ringing me up was so nice. At the BBQ truck, I tried the two meat plate and loved their brisket. Very glad I went out. This one circles the wagons every Wednesday, rain or shine. It was pouring when I stopped by recently post-run. The museum ($15 for adult tickets) did have tables just inside the door for those who stopped by in the rain to eat. The website for the food trucks lists who will be in attendance each week. I could become a regular and really you could too.
