I had nearly 2-hours to shop before being bussed back to the apartment complex so I must've circled the entire store and gone up & down every isle 3-4 times when my eyes came rest on Trader Joe's Dark Roast Coffee ($6.99 for 10- oz. bag of ground coffee). Never having tasted the coffee, and knowing how much I like dark roasts, I picked up a bag. The first thing I did upon returning to my place, was brew up a fresh cup of coffee. The 100% Arabica beans lent off a heavenly aroma leading my imagination to the fertile hillsides of Columbia, the jungles of Sumatra and the plantations of Cuba. Excellent flavors! Not over powering and oh so pleasant. I'm a regular Cafe Bustelo Espresso grind coffee aficionado and this Trader Joe's Dark Coffee

This location of Trader Joe's was relatively close to my high school classmate's home, so I stopped by quickly to take a look beforeIhad to meet up with her. I was so happy to see that the peach-colored AND turquoise-colored mini insulated coolers were available (at the entrance)! They're really handy as my niece has been using them to bring her leftover dinner to work for lunch the next day! She said that these mini coolers are a good size! I got some for her father, sister, and mother! Inside, this Trader Joe's was clean, spacious, organized, and well-lit. I got some snacks, greeting cards, and some yellow nectarines! I started looking for the store mascot and asked the cashier if these plushies were the ones. I showed her a photo on my phone, spotted the correct mascot, and took a photo when a female worker approached me and told me that "no photos were allowed in the store". I thought that she was joking until I looked at her facial expression. She was serious. Shucks. Oh, well... it's over. We got our prize (a lollipop) and took a photo outside of the store. We still went back the next day for more snacks and greeting cards because I had a bit more space in my luggage... LOL!

The shoes, white short sleeve button up shirt with a blue tie and navy blue or black slacks to match! I was a courtesy clerk at 16 when there was etiquette, training and most definitely strict representation of the store's brand! No matter who you asked from the bagger to the manager, if they worked there, they knew where literally everything was located and if something was out of stock! Nowadays I get a lot of confused looks or "I don't know" and they walk off without attempting to assist! Nowadays you're lucky if you can find 1 committed, hard-working courtesy clerk at any store! To...I digress, let's get it! I initially ordered their 4 piece for $5 and a 1/2 lb of JoJo's. The 1st associate was very welcoming, sincere and thoughtful when picking out the 4 pieces. She'd just saved me a coupon and a trip to kfc for a $5 2 piece meal! As I was leaving there was a man at the door asking for change for food, I searched my pockets and found nothing so I said that I had nothing, he thanked me anyway. I went to my truck to see if I had any change there, I didn't so I went and gave the man my 4 piece and JoJo's and went back inside and ordered another for myself...this was the other associate. I ordered the same thing and she gathered it but not taking time to check the food for what's freshest and what's not like the previous associate had done. I came home and immediately regretted not saying anything; over 1/2 the jojo's were hard and stale! The pieces of chicken she choose weren't any better! Some weren't even hot, but they're all sitting in the warmer together so how is that?! It's the end of the day, I get it. It's a busy mother's Day, I get it. Customer satisfaction is your job...Get it?! Do Better!! To the initial associate: Thank you for your dedicated service! The man in need got some well selected fresh chicken for dinner and I'm grateful for that!

The deli section is also amazing, with a great variety of options like pasta, steak, tofu, fried or baked chicken, olives, and lots of delicious cheese and salami. Five stars!

So, I made the trip to get Upton's Traditional Seitan and just explore the store. They have a variety of good options, especially for those who create their own meals and like to use whole-grain ingredients. The store is compact, but it offers a wide variety of products. You can purchase assorted nuts by the ounce, or packaged options. They also have a selection of fruits, vegetables, a hot bar, a deli section, and kombucha. I noticed that many of the brands they carry have fewer ingredients, less artificial flavoring and sugars. I visited this store specifically to purchase seitan, and I ended up buying a couple of packages for $5.29 each, which I find to be a reasonable price. I couldn't find this brand at any other store, but I chose it because it has minimal ingredients, low fat and sodium content, and a generous amount of protein at 2 ounces. Many processed foods have a long list of ingredients and oils, which makes them unhealthy and fatty. As a vegetarian who is trying to eat cleaner, I appreciate this product. I also tried the Brew Doctor kombucha, which usually costs $2.50. However, they have a special offer where you can buy two bottles for a discounted price. The kombucha is very light and refreshing, not overpowering with vinegar or sugar. Overall, it's worth the drive to get this product. I'll definitely be coming back for it and other products in the future.

I love exploring international and ethnic grocery shops in the greater Puget Sound region. Hong Kong Market is well stocked, clean, organized, and well represented beyond Asian regions. Latino shoppers will find faves here too. I was amazed at the fresh and frozen meat and seafood offerings....unusual cuts, whole (fish, poultry, goat, sheep), offal, exotica. Kitchen gear. Fresh produce. Canned, packaged, frozen food. Variety of rice in varying sizes. Snacks. Alcohol and other beverages. Hot deli. Baked goods. Kind of if one compressed Uwajimaya, Asian Family Market, and Saar's. A plus that Filipino products and ingredients were well featured. I spent more time gawking through all the aisles, but bought an inasal marinade and fresh shallots. Enjoyed my introduction to Hong Kong Market!

My bf reminds me of this store we randomly came across one day. It has what the store in Lakewood has but more grocery options. Cute and homey store. I spent about 30mins+ give or take shopping for the family. There are many options of trinkets, chocolates (alcohol ones too) , drinks, mustards, curry ketchups, gummy candy, bread, gravy etc. I did notice they don't carry any Maggie products for gravy and such. I know that was my bro's first question as he prefers that brand lol. The staff is really kind. The deli dude was patient with me as I told him I have a lot to order. I met the female owner and she's a sweetheart. The cashier lady was also so helpful as I couldn't find a specific brand candy. She pointed me in the right direction and luckily there was enough :) There's plentiful parking in the lot, and can get pretty cramped when busy as it's not a big store but has many options.
