This place is iconic, it's whole look says we are a burger joint and that's what we do here. My sons discovered this place some years ago and they kept telling me how good is was and when I was driving by recently and I saw it I could tell they probably weren't lying, so I decided to go in and give them a try and I was certainly not disappointed. This place is great! We were looking for a local burger and Shake place to get my 4 year old a shake. However, we were very pleased the everything we got. The burgers some of the best the fat guy have ever had, the hot dog was good, and according to my wife "the sweet tea is awesome". We actually ate here twice during our vacation and I'm sure it will be a regular stop when we come here in the future. Only negative is that the dinning room is small and not "fat man friendly". Old booths and chairs that are awesome for nostalgia but not for a 6'4 300 lb hillbilly. Just had lunch here a few hours ago with the family, nothing special, some of my family got the chicken salad and taco salad, they weren't happy with them. I got a cheeseburger, it was good, not much you can do to ruin a burger. The staff seemed nice, they let us know to leave our trash on the table when we were leaving cause they'd clean it up. My daughter had a long hair in the bun of her hotdog, we took it back and the staff was quick to get a new one. We have been coming here for years on our annual Myrtle Beach trips and have always loved the hotdogs, burgers, and fries. This time, however, we were shocked at the burger and hotdogs that we received. They have shrunk the food in size so much that it was comical - the hotdog and hamburger buns, the dogs themselves, the meat, etc. We kind of laughed about it when we saw what we were given, but we also feel ripped off. The burger is by far the smallest and thinnest burger I've ever had and it was $5.49 plus tax for just the burger, with no side or drink. The thinly sliced onions on the burger were thicker than the burger patty and all you could taste was onion as a result. The hotdogs are also much, much smaller than before and $4.25 each plus tax for just the dog, no side or drink. We won't go back, which is unfortunate, because always try to go local when we travel, but after this, we will certainly look elsewhere. We're going to need to go get something else to eat after eating here because we're all still hungry. read more

This place is epic. If you come to Myrtle Beach it's a stop for you. The hamburgers are fresh not frozen. This place tops Steak N Shake hands down. They have ice cream cones and milkshakes. I ordered an Oreo milkshake and they didn't skimp on the amount of Oreos in the milkshake. It's a 1950's atmosphere and the prices are pretty cheap. Burky's has an interesting back story that has been plastered all over the local advertising channels. The owner was trained under Dave Thomas (Wendy's) and mix something about G.D. Ritzy's in there, and boom - a Myrtle Beach legend was born. The owner took his own spin on things dropping the corporate influence and now has a beloved burger and shake joint on one of the main Myrtle beach stretches. Burky's always seems to be hopping. We stopped in around 1pm and it was nearly standing room only. A lot of golfers hitting up a high calorie option after swinging a few on the greens nearby, and families, locals and so-on. The food was spot on for the old G.D. Ritzy's format. A greasy smash type burger that can be ordered in a single or double with all the toppings. They also had other standard features like hotdogs, fries, and shakes, which are an excellent addition to complete a meal here. While it was nothing new under my sun... It was still a nice stop after a morning of walking and shopping around the nearby boardwalk and pavilion. Burky's also has weekly classic car drive ins, and is trying to keep the old 50's fun and sun glamour alive.
