We stopped into Burky's today for lunch and it was a very nice experience! It's in an old Ritzy's hamburger restaurant and the burgers were reminiscent of burgers once gotten there. But the reason we went to Burky's was to try the Cincinnati Style Chili. Both my wife and I grew up enjoying this particular style of chili and were eager to see if this was going to "hit the spot." It most certainly did and the restaurant was a fun place to visit as well. The music was '50's Rock 'n Roll and the decor was also a '50's soda shop, burger joint feel. The employees were nice, the service was fast and the facility was old and a bit worn but very clean. We will be returning soon! read more

Very fast considering time of day on a Saturday. Our large order was 100% correct. The cashier asked someone if tea was unsweet before handing to me (it wasn't so she fixed, good since my Dad diabetic!). I thought salad a tad small and veggies seemed a bit old (one a bit browned) but overall everyone enjoyed their burgers, especially good crispy fries and grilled cheeses. This was our first stop in MB. After the cashier took our order she turned around completely and started talking to two of her coworkers. It was so odd. Never have I seen a cashier take an order and then ignore the customer before taking the payment. I had to knock on the counter and loudly say excuse me to get her to turn back around so I could pay for my order. Then her and her two coworkers rolled their eyes at me for inconveniencing them by paying for my order. So if you want terrible food and terrible customer service, have at it. For me, I will never give them another dime. My burger was small and flavorless. Same with the fries. My child said the BBQ sandwich was not as good as the one at (elementary) school. Oh and I almost forgot, the interior was dirty and there were a lot of flies inside the dining room amongst the trash at the tables. The ceiling is falling apart and the light fixtures are covered in thick dust from never being cleaned. Honestly it's a nasty place and I regret that it was our first stop in MB. It had good reviews so we went but idk how it could have so many good reviews. It feels like they were either paid to do the reviews or it's a giant joke to sucker in the visitors. I won't be coming back here, and unlike many reviewers of this place, I'm local to Myrtle Beach. This place is the equivalent of a Sonic from like the 70's or 80's. Drive-thru is ALWAYS super long lined as every order is made to order. So...you can go inside and sit and wait for them to make your food or you can wait in your car forever in the drive-thru line. You may eat in or take out if you go inside. Crazy old decor inside, but who cares? This ain't a wedding reception hall. Our problem on this rainy day was they totally screwed up our order. I guess we should've checked the bag and opened everything up before we left. We ordered 1 cheeseburger combo and one single burger...that's it...and they screwed up both burgers. Yep, both of them. One burger was missing tomato and was given an extra patty (which my wife didn't want), and the other burger had no lettuce, no onions, and no mayo, all of which were ordered. Dude, if you can't even make 2 burgers correctly, what's that say about you? Not like the place was hoppin' on a Friday night. Get it together, sheesh. I mean if you're going to custom make every burger, why can't you get them right? Size and taste wise, totally forgettable. Nothing, and I mean, NOTHING special about their food. French fries had about 3x as much salt on theme as you'd get from Mickey D's and of course, our to go bag had no napkins in it. Be aware, only a basic menu here. No chicken nuggets for the kids...it's basically just burgers, dogs, and fries. That's pretty much it. Burky's was definitely a fail and most likely we won't return. Oh well, no big deal. It was cheap and there must be 1k other fast food joints in the Dirty at which to eat. We'll try more of those! read more

I was craving a good hot dog while visiting a friend in MB and searched the area. This place came up and I'm so glad we went there. I love everything about this spot...from the retro, stuck-in-the-70s diner look, to the lady behind the counter yelling out the order pick-ups with "gusto". The bonus is that the prices are great and the hot dogs were delicious. The fries were super hot, crunchy and tasty, too. We came during the lunch hour and were concerned that there would be a long wait, especially since the drive thru looked busy, but that wasn't the case. We went inside and only waited for about 5 min. before our order came up. I'll be sure to stop by next time I visit the area. read more

It's been about 20+ years since I have been to Myrtle Beach and this place used to be called Ritzy's when I was a little kid. It was the single thing I looked forward to the most as a kid because I love cheese fries. And damn if they weren't just as good as I remember! My brain was blasted with nostalgia as the fries are super crisp and they give you the cheese in a cup so your fries don't get soggy before you eat them. Have been going here for years. However, my last 3 visits have not been pleasant mainly due to the lady's attitude at the pick up window. The first time I ordered a kids hamburger meal. When I got up to pay, the order was several dollars more. When I question why this kids meal was so expensive, she replied that I didn't ask for a kids meal which I did. The second time, the order was not correct and the same lady tried to blame the mistake on me. I had ordered a hamburger with a side of chili and got a cheeseburger with chili on it. I was looking for a good burger place and came across Burkys on Yelp. Decided to give it a shot since it had good reviews. Well I'm glad I did. It was delicious. The burgers and skinny and misshaped and grilled oh so perfectly, seasoned well too. Fries were fresh and delicious , cheese sauce hot and tasty!!! Me and my husband enjoyed it so much we shared a hot dog and another fry. The hot dog was also grilled perfectly, slight crunch to it!!! When you order at the counter and food is ready to be picked up the lady yells order up and you go grab it! I loved it. What happened to Burky's? We've lived in the area since 2008 and always enjoyed eating there, but not at our last visit. We went two days ago; I had a full view of the kitchen while my husband was waiting for our order. What I saw was so dirty, it ruined my appetite. Ceiling tiles falling off; grease and dirt all over. No clean table in sight; I had to wipe the table we were about to use; the wall beside our table had greasy stains on it. Our burgers were very poorly prepared, with a big chunk of lettuce just slapped on it, a glob of mayonnaise. It was falling apart, not appetizing at all. We did not recognize our favorite burger place. What happened? Does the owner know that the place is getting so dirty? It's a shame. read more

We haven't been to this area in over 10 years and were looking for some of the restaurants we frequented back in the day. For you folks who are old like me and remember Ritzy's, this is owned by the same gentleman and the food and ice cream are the exact same. The family ordered hamburgers and hotdogs and everyone was more than happy with their food. I had the double cheeseburger with fries and both were fresh with lots of flavor. The burger patties aren't anything excessive in size and the fries are shoestring style, but both were enjoyable and filled this big guy up. For desert we had to have a milkshake and let me tell you...these did not disappoint. I had the peanut butter, the daughter had cookies and cream, and the wife had Oreo. Everyone loved it and we actually went back for another one the next day. The small shakes are $2.99 which we found to be a fair price until we saw the size of the cups. Most places charge way more for what Burky's calls a small. Small here is most ice cream parlors' medium or large. If f I had one suggestion it would be to use stronger or wider straws to make it easier to drink the shakes. This definitely won't stop me from ordering more. We will be back for lunch before we leave town. read more

You get what you pay for. Cheap, quick, low-tier food. My salad was BOMBARDED with meat and shredded cheese with bits and pieces of lettuce. However, the chili cheese was amazing. My wife and I were looking for a late lunch, and a good burger was what we were looking for. We prefer not to eat at franchise restaurants when traveling, always looking for mom & pop type of locations. Well, yelp pointed us to Burky's. On entering, we noticed the decor. It reminded me of burger places when I young, I'm 70 now. Really nice ordering from a real person, not some computer screen that you can't ask questions of. The service was great and fast. Food was excellent, the tomato and lettuce were fresh, and crisp. My wife ordered a cheeseburger combo and I ordered a double cheeseburger combo, both came with fries. Hidden gem!! You know the place is going to be good when you see the local vehicles in the parking lot. I am not a hamburger eater but everyone was ordering the hamburger combo. I decided to give the hamburger combo a try. Trust me you won't be disappointed. It was delicious. Crispy edges and the french fries were to die for. Everything was piping hot and outstanding .
